YEAR NINE, CARD NO. 15
Cobo Hall -- Detroit
Commissioner Chad came to ringside with a mic to announce the qualifying matches for the final two BCW spots in Tag-o-Rama. Ivan Koloff and Boris Zhukov will face Virgil and "Superstar" Bill Dundee, while Danny Doring and Roadkill will take on Bruiser Brody and Dick Hutton.
Mr. Saito and Mr. Fuji, in their debut in BCW, d. S+S when Mr. Saito unleashed three of his SUPLEXES against Larry Sharpe before pinning him. The pair punished Sharpe and wouldn’t let him tag in George South, with Fuji eventually throwing salt in Sharpe’s eyes at one point – unseen by the referees.
Tiger Mask d. Roderick Strong by DQ when Strong was caught clubbing Tiger Mask outside the ring. The two had a great match before the finish, with Strong dominating the first part of the match, then having to weather a sustained offensive attack by Tiger Mask, who had Strong on the ropes before both ended up outside the ring and Strong was DQ’d. It was obvious throughout that their feud had not cooled a bit.
Diamond Dallas Page d. Val Venis when he caught Venis coming back into the ring with a DIAMOND CUTTER. Venis thought Page was still wobbly from an earlier attack and was coming back into the ring to finish him off when he instead fell victim to Page’s finisher.
In a Tag-o-Rama qualifying match, Ivan Koloff and Boris Zhukov d. Virgil and “Superstar” Bill Dundee when Virgil submitted to the RUSSIAN BEAR HUG. The match was a good one, with six pin attempts and lots of back-and-forth action between the four wrestlers before Koloff finally ended it while Zhukov kept Dundee from interfering.
Bill Apter’s “Hot Seat” featured BCW world heavyweight champion Lou Thesz and his opponent at Tag-o-Rama, Mil Mascaras. Apter noted that Thesz had experienced problems in the past wrestling Mascaras – was he worried about retaining the belt? Thesz said Mascaras was a great opponent, and he would have to prove he was greater with the title on the line. Mascaras stared at Thesz, then motioned with his thumb down and left the interview as the fans booed.
John Pesek d. the Sandman using his TIGER MAN TOEHOLD. The match was physical throughout, but Pesek eventually was able to notch the victory.
In a Tag-o-Rama qualifying match, Bruiser Brody and Dick Hutton d. Amish Roadkill and Danny Doring when Hutton pinned Doring after an atomic drop. Brody battered both Amish Roadkill and Doring during his time in the ring, then tagged in Hutton when Doring was about finished, knocking Amish Roadkill off the apron for good measure to secure their Tag-o-Rama spot.
One Man Gang came to ringside, grabbed a mic and announced that he wanted one more shot at Ed “the Strangler” Lewis’ U.S. championship, because he had found that he could beat Lewis. Bob Roop came out and asked why this “overweight joke” deserved one more shot considering he was the “ideal athlete” to beat Lewis. That brought out Commissioner Chad, who thought it would be “a splendid idea” to have the pair face off for a shot at Lewis and the U.S. title. Roop said he’d been the No. 1 contender before, and he could “easily” become it again.
One Man Gang d. Bob Roop when he hit a 747 SPLASH that basically buried Roop. Roop, who was acting arrogantly throughout the first part of the match, never got momentum after One Man Gang threw him out of the ring and then slammed him at ringside. As One Man Gang looked to celebrate after his victory, he was taken down by a Diamond Dallas Page DIAMOND CUTTER. Page took the microphone and said, “Hey Strangler, when you are done with the big guy here, turn your attention this way, because I’ve got something for you!” Page flashed the Diamond Cutter sign, then left through the crowd.
The Masked Superstars came to ringside and met with Commissioner Chad. Masked Superstar I took the mic and said, “We are ready for the challenge of Tag-o-Rama, and we want to come out of it as winners of the event and BCW tag-team champions. But commissioner, I thought it would be good to get in a workout before Tag-o-Rama, and I know they wanted to ‘rest,’ but what about a nontitle match with RVD and Sabu, the current BCW champs – at least until Tag-o-Rama.” Rob Van Dam and Sabu came to ringside with the belts and Bill Alfonso. Van Dam said, “We are here tonight, and we’ll be holding these belts after Tag-o-Rama, so let’s go!” Commissioner Chad said the match was on, even as Alfonso was shaking his head “no.”
The Masked Superstars d. the BCW world tag team champions Rob Van Dam and Sabu by DQ in a nontitle match when Van Dam hit the Van Daminator on Masked Superstar II and got DQ’d. The Superstars pummeled Van Dam and Sabu throughout the match, which did not bode well if the two teams meet at Tag-o-Rama, or for the tag champs in general. Van Dam finally got in a bit of offense and decided to up the ante on Masked Superstar II. Officials kept the two teams separated afterward as tempers were flying and fingers were pointing ahead of Tag-o-Rama.

YEAR NINE, CARD NO. 16
Tag-o-Rama PPV – Richfield Coliseum
Commissioner Chad came out and welcomed the commissioners of FSW and the AWA. He said the BWF had declined to participate in Tag-o-Rama, but they would still be entering the next PPV, War Games.
The commissioner went over the Tag-o-Rama rules: There would be four brackets, each with a No. 1 seed and three other teams. The non-No. 1 teams were randomly assigned brackets. Once assigned, the No. 1 team in each bracket could pick their first-round opponent from the other teams in the bracket. The BCW world tag-team titles could be won by a team from BCW, FSW, the AWA or an independent team if they beat Rob Van Dam and Sabu. He added that there would be other matches on the card, including the BCW world heavyweight championship matchup between Lou Thesz and Mil Mascaras. Then he said, “Let’s start Tag-o-Rama!”
BRACKET A:
Top seed Sabu and Rob Van Dam, the BCW world tag-team champions (w/ Bill Alfonso), d. the Super Smash Brothers (FSW) when Sabu p. Player Uno after a massive TRIPLE JUMP MOONSAULT. The Super Smash Brothers gave Sabu and Van Dam, already trying to recover from their match on the previous card against the Masked Superstars, everything they could handle before falling short in an exciting match to open the PPV.
Gorgeous George and Rick Rude (AWA) d. Jerry Lynn and Bryan Danielson (BCW) when Gorgeous George caught Lynn with a SPINNING TOEHOLD and got the submission. Lynn and Danielson looked disgusted at their loss and a missed opportunity for a title shot in the next round.
BRACKET B:
Top seed the Briscoes, the FSW tag-team champions, d. the Samoan Island Tribe (FSW) when they combined for a DOUBLE FOOTBALL TACKLE on Alofa to get the pin in a battle of FSW rivals.
Christopher Daniels and Kazarian (independent) d. the Sheepherders (BCW) when Kazarian used his LARIAT/CHOP BLOCK COMBO to help get the pin for his side in what was a physical match before the finish.
BRACKET C:
In a fantastic match, Bruiser Brody and Dick Hutton (AWA) d. the AWA champion tag-team Steve Corino and Chris Candido when Brody p. Corino after a running leg drop. The match was back and forth, with eight total pin attempts before the ending, and Corino nearly had Bundy pinned before the big man rallied.
The Fabulous Kangaroos (w/ “Wild” Red Berry) (independent) d. the Masked Superstars when they hit the BOOMERANG on Masked Superstar I to get the pin in a stunning ending to the match. The Masked Superstars had Al Costello on the ropes, with four pin attempts against him, when he was able to slip away. As Masked Superstar I pursued him, he was hit in the head by a wooden boomerang wielded by Roy Heffernan while Berry distracted the referee. The turn of events led to a victory for the former BCW champions and continued frustration on the part of the Masked Superstars.
BRACKET D:
Ivan Koloff and Boris Zhukov (BCW) d. the top-seeded Canadian Connection (independent) by DQ when Angelo Mosca slammed Koloff in the face using Koloff’s chain. Koloff had gotten away with using the chain earlier, but this time around the referee saw the interaction and called for the DQ. It took a few minutes for officials to get the two teams separated after the incident.
The Love Brothers (AWA) (w/ Sherri Martel) d. Tyler Black and Jon Moxley (independent) when Hartford Love hit a neckbreaker on Black to get the pin. The action was amazing, with lots of tags and a big run by Moxley during the match before the Love Brothers’ tag expertise paid off with the pin.
BRACKET A FINAL:
BCW world tag-team champions Rob Van Dam and Sabu d. Rick Rude and Gorgeous George (AWA) when Van Dam took down former BCW wrestler Rude with a FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH. Rude and Gorgeous George couldn’t match the skills of Van Dam as the BCW champs won their bracket.
BRACKET B FINAL:
FSW tag-team champions the Briscoes d. Kazarian and Christopher Daniels (independent) when Mark Briscoe pummeled Kazarian outside the ring, then finished him off with a CUT-THROAT DRIVER.
BRACKET C FINAL:
The Fabulous Kangaroos (w/ “Wild” Red Berry) (independent) d. Bruiser Brody and Dick Hutton (BCW) when Dick Hutton succumbed to Al Costello’s MARBLE BOR LEGLOCK. Brody was frustrated because he was unable to tag back in after dominating much of the early part of the match, as the Kangaroos kept Hutton from his corner.
BRACKET D FINAL:
Ivan Koloff and Boris Zhukov (BCW) d. the Love Brothers (AWA) (w/ Sherri Martel) by countout when Zhukov, unseen by the referee who was distracted by Koloff in the ring, belted Reginald Love with Koloff’s chain, leading to the countout when Love couldn’t return to the ring in time. The match had been pretty even up to then, with the Love Brothers’ tag skills keeping Koloff and Zhukov off-balance at times. Afterward, Martel chased Zhukov to the back as she shrieked at him.
One Man Gang came to ringside, grabbed a mic and said, “Strangler Lewis, I’m here waiting for you, and if you’re any sort of man, let’s have a no-DQ match for the U.S. title, if you think you can handle it.” Lewis came to ringside, nodded his assent and gave the U.S. title to the referee.
In a long, amazing match, Ed “Strangler” Lewis d. One Man Gang in a no-DQ match to retain the U.S. heavyweight championship. One Man Gang hit a 747 SPLASH at one point, and interference by Virgil and “Superstar” Bill Dundee helped at various points, but Lewis managed to eventually escape from trouble in an extremely physical match and eventually lock on his STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK to get the submission. When Virgil attempted one final interference effort, he was taken out by a DIAMOND CUTTER from Diamond Dallas Page, who stayed at ringside afterward and pointed at Lewis, making the sign of wanting a title shot. Dundee no longer tried to interfere after the Page attack.
SEMIFINALS:
BCW tag-team champions Rob Van Dam and Sabu (w/ Bill Alfonso) d. FSW tag-team champions the Briscoes by DQ when Jay Briscoe was DQ’d for using a chair on Van Dam at ringside. The Briscoes were frustrated because they dominated the match and should have captured the BCW tag titles, but they couldn’t get the pin they needed, despite multiple opportunities, which led to the frustration and the DQ. As a result, Van Dam and Sabu advanced to the finals.
The Fabulous Kangaroos (w/ “Wild” Red Berry) d. Ivan Koloff and Boris Zhukov by DQ when Zhukov, thanks to an alert Berry, was caught using Koloff’s chain on Roy Heffernan when Heffernan was outside the ring and Koloff was arguing with the referee. The pace had been pretty fast up to that point, but Zhukov’s actions finally caught up to him, thanks to Berry. With the win, the Kangaroos were in the final.
Mil Mascaras d. Lou Thesz to win the BCW world heavyweight championship in a best-of-three-falls match. In the first fall, which took quite a bit of time, Mascaras slowly wore down Thesz, getting a number of pin attempts before finally pinning the defending champion after his CROSSBODY ATTACK. In the second fall, Thesz came out on fire, getting a pair of pin attempts against Mascaras by using each of his finishers, but could not close the deal. Mascaras continued his wear-down attack and finally pinned Thesz after a slingshot plancha to win the title. Thesz offered his hand in congratulations afterward, but Mascaras ignored him, holding up the belt that he won for the third time in his career and the first time since Year Six.
FINALS:
BCW world tag-team champions Rob Van Dam and Sabu (w/ Bill Alfonso) d. the Fabulous Kangaroos (w/ “Wild” Red Berry) when Van Dam hit two successive FIVE-STAR FROG SPLASHES on Roy Heffernan to get the victory and win Tag-o-Rama. The match was as wild as Berry’s nickname, as Van Dam and Sabu, battered in the previous round by the Briscoes, took a lot of time to get going in the match. Then, while Van Dam and Heffernan battled in the ring, the other four involved in the match were tussling outside the ring, keeping the former four-time BCW tag champion Kangaroos from interfering as Van Dam got the pin. After the match, Berry grabbed the mic and announced, “We’ll be back someday, Van Dam and Sabu, and we’ll come looking for you. We have unfinished business.”

YEAR NINE, CARD NO. 17
Greensboro Coliseum – North Carolina
Bryan Danielson (w/ Jerry Lynn) d. George South (w/ Larry Sharpe) when Danielson connected on a Yakuza kick. Lynn and Danielson both appeared to be upset throughout the match following their tough loss at Tag-o-Rama.
Commissioner Chad came to ringside to announce that Lou Thesz had invoked his rematch clause and would face new champion Mil Mascaras at the end of this card for the BCW world heavyweight championship. Fans cheered at the announcement.
“Superstar” Bill Dundee and Virgil came to ringside, and Dundee took the mic to say that Ivan Koloff and Boris Zhukov “got lucky” in beating them during a qualifying match for Tag-o-Rama due to shenanigans by Zhukov, and they would defeat the “Russian rejects” in a rematch. The confident look on their faces dropped when Koloff and Zhukov came to ringside to refute Dundee's claims.
Ivan Koloff and Boris Zhukov d. Virgil and “Superstar” Bill Dundee in a well-contested match when Virgil once again fell victim to the RUSSIAN BEAR HUG. The two sides were quite physical throughout, and after the submission, Zhukov hit Virgil with Koloff’s chain, injuring him while the referee was arguing with Dundee.
Commissioner Chad came back to ringside and called out the Masked Superstars. The commissioner asked: “I’m wondering, what’s it going to take to get you over the hump and to a championship? You had your match won at Tag-o-Rama against the Fabulous Kangaroos, and then you let it get away. I’ve been asked by people why a top team like yours has not held the gold – so what’s the story?” Masked Superstar I told the commissioner that they were refocused and ready after the match at Tag-o-Rama, and they had their sights set on the BCW world tag-team championships. The commissioner said it sounded good, but they’d get a chance to test that statement next against the Sheepherders!
The Masked Superstars d. the Sheepherders when Masked Superstar II used his BACKBREAKER finisher to subdue Butch Miller. The ending came after Luke Williams entered the ring to break up a pin attempt by Masked Superstar I, only to be thrown out of the ring by a charging Masked Superstar II. His partner then tagged him in, and Masked Superstar II used his finisher to get the pin. It was a bit wild, but the Masked Superstars got the victory.
The U.S. title match between Ed “Strangler” Lewis and Diamond Dallas Page ended in a double DQ with both men battling outside the ring. The match up to that point had been mostly even, with Lewis getting his STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK on Page a couple of times, but not being able to get a submission. Page, meanwhile, was unable to hit his DIAMOND CUTTER. Officials eventually were able to separate the two men.
Roderick Strong came to ringside, grabbed a mic and said, “I heard Jimmy Snuka is back from suspension for injuring my friend Austin Aries. That’s good, because I want to see him in the ring right now so I can put him out of this business – permanently.” That statement brought Snuka to the ring, ready for battle.
Jimmy Snuka d. Roderick Strong by giving him a nasty backbreaker and then getting the pin. Strong, who had a strong start in the match, looked to be injured afterward, although what Snuka did appeared not to be excessive.
Bruiser Brody and Dick Hutton came to ringside. Brody took the mic and said, “We had a good Tag-o-Rama for being a new team. We beat the AWA tag champions and gave the Fabulous Kangaroos a good battle, and everyone knows how tough they are. As a result, we think we are ready for the BCW tag-team champions – so come on down Rob Van Dam and Sabu, it’s time for our test … and bring the belts!”
In a wild match, BCW world tag-team champions Rob Van Dam and Sabu (w/ Bill Alfonso) d. Dick Hutton and Bruiser Brody when Hutton was pinned following a Van Daminator. The match featured interference on a pin attempt, a missed TRIPLE JUMP MOONSAULT by Sabu and all sorts of in-ring and out-of-the-ring chaos before Van Dam finished the match.
In an Invasion/War Games qualifying match, the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase d. Tiger Mask when he caught him in his MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPER. Tiger Mask was on a roll early until DiBiase caught him with a swinging neckbreaker, then his finisher. Tiger Mask will now be wrestling for his BCW career at Invasion.
Lou Thesz d. Mil Mascaras by countout in their best-of-three falls BCW world heavyweight championship match, meaning Mascaras retained the title. In the first fall, Mascaras tried to control the pace like in their previous match and was successful for a while, until Thesz took control with a GRECO-ROMAN BACKDROP followed by a THESZ PRESS to get the pin.
In the second fall, Thesz was again on the attack, but Mascaras fended it off early. But as Thesz gained more momentum, Mascaras got out of the ring – and left with the belt! As he took the countout, he headed to the back, trailed by the boos of the crowd and the frustration on Thesz’s face.

YEAR NINE, CARD NO. 18
Bithloplex
Mr. Fuji and Mr. Saito d. S+S when George South succumbed to the BANZAI DROP of Fuji. S+S actually controlled part of the match with their tags and pin saves, but they soon found themselves taking brutal shots from the Japanese pair.
Commissioner Chad came to ringside, took a mic and said that BCW world heavyweight champion Mil Mascaras had refused a rematch with former champion Lou Thesz, claiming that Thesz had “cheated” during their match. The commissioner said that Thesz would get another shot at the world heavyweight championship. He also said that U.S. heavyweight champion Ed “Strangler” Lewis was out with a minor injury suffered during his match with Diamond Dallas Page, so for tonight there was no rematch for them, but Page would instead be getting a shot at Mascaras in a match at the end of the card!
The ”spurned” Lou Thesz d. “Superstar” Bill Dundee, taking out some of his frustration before finishing a game Dundee with his GRECO-ROMAN BACKDROP. Afterward, Thesz grabbed a mic and said, “Keep running, Mascaras, because eventually I will catch you!”
The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase came to ringside with his own mic and bragged about beating Tiger Mask to qualify for War Games, saying it was time to send “junior” packing. That remark brought an appearance from Jimmy Snuka, who said he was so tired listening to DiBiase run his “million-dollar mouth” for all these years, so he was at ringside to do something about it.
The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase d. Jimmy Snuka through the use of his MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPER. The match was full of action but DiBiase was able to head off a late Snuka rally and wear him down for the victory. Afterward, DiBiase grabbed his mic and said, “Snuka, every man has his price, but it’s hard to put a price on your stupidity!”
The Sheepherders came out and yelled from the ring that they wanted revenge against the Masked Superstars, saying they were going to “rip the masks right off ‘em!”
The Sheepherders d. the Masked Superstars when Luke Williams got Masked Superstar II’s mask turned around, and then the Sheepherders used a DOUBLE GUT BUSTER to get the pin! The Sheepherders celebrated afterward, while the Masked Superstars appeared stunned by the turn of events.
Bill Apter’s “Hot Seat” featured Bruiser Brody and Dick Hutton. Brody said their tag team had seen some tough moments, but he still believed they could be titleholders despite their failure to win the belts on the last card. When Apter asked what would happen if they didn’t get the BCW world tag titles, Brody looked at Hutton and said, “Things might get very bad.” Brody then left the other two at ringside.
Yukon Eric came to ringside, stopped Apter from leaving and said, “Can we talk? I made a mistake when it came to Danny Hodge.” “You regret turning on him, Yukon?” Apter asked. Yukon Eric just laughed and said, “Nope. I regret not finishing him off for good!” His laughter stopped as Danny Hodge hit ringside with a referee right behind him.
Danny Hodge d. Yukon Eric by countout when he booted Yukon Eric out of the ring with a dropkick, only to see his opponent slowly get up and head to the back. Hodge was ferocious on offense, and his former tag-team partner had apparently seen enough and decided to leave ringside.
Bill Alfonso came to ringside and said that his BCW world tag-team champions were willing to give Jerry Lynn and Bryan Danielson a shot at the titles because they are “quality dudes” despite their tough loss at Tag-o-Rama. Commissioner Chad came out and approved the match.
BCW world tag-team champions Rob Van Dam and Sabu (w/ Bill Alfonso) d. Jerry Lynn and Bryan Danielson when Lynn fell victim to Air Sabu. Both Lynn and Danielson took a lot of punishment, but they gamely kept at it and Lynn almost had a pin on Sabu when he caught him coming off the turnbuckle. It was obvious after the match that Lynn and Danielson were distraught at not winning the titles, although they did shake hands with Sabu and Van Dam.
In an Invasion/War Games qualifying match, Danny Doring and Amish Roadkill d. Ivan Koloff and Boris Zhukov by DQ when Koloff, angered by a cheap shot by Doring, hit him with his chain while Zhukov was trying unsuccessfully to distract the referee. Koloff’s actions meant the Russian pair will be wresting for their BCW careers at Invasion.
Diamond Dallas Page d. BCW world heavyweight champion Mil Mascaras by DQ when Ed “Strangler” Lewis attacked Page while he was outside the ring. Mascaras had controlled much of the match before Page rallied, but Page’s rally was cut short when he was attacked by Lewis.

YEAR NINE, CARD NO. 19
Melbourne Auditorium
Bryan Danielson and Jerry Lynn d. Mr. Fuji and Mr. Saito by DQ in what was a great matchup until Fuji and Saito attacked Danielson outside the ring. Lynn and Danielson had controlled a large amount of the match, recording five pin attempts before the Japanese pair had enough and decided to end things their way. It was Fuji and Saito’s first loss in BCW.
Bob Roop d. Jimmy Snuka by DQ when Snuka tried to piledrive Roop outside the ring, only to be stopped when the referee called for the end of the match. The two wrestlers were at odds from the start of the match, when Snuka started his attack before the bell rang. Roop yelled afterward that Snuka was “crazy.”
The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase came out with One Man Gang and said they wanted Dick Hutton and Bruiser Brody in a tag match because “I don’t like Hutton, and One Man Gang doesn’t like Brody, and BCW will be a better place once they are gone!” Out came Brody and Hutton to answer the challenge.
The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase and One Man Gang d. Bruiser Brody and Dick Hutton when One Man Gang p. Brody after a 747 SPLASH. The key moment in the match came when a weary Brody, who was having problems subduing One Man Gang, refused to tag Hutton back into the match, which led to their loss. Hutton looked disgusted by the turn of events as DiBiase laughed at him and said, “You should have come back to Money Inc., Hutton. Now you’re joined with a loser!”
Diamond Dallas Page d. Ed “Strangler” Lewis to win the U.S. title for the second time in his BCW career. Page, who was ambushed during a BCW world heavyweight title match on the last card, was on the attack from the sound of the bell, and after a discus clothesline while both men were outside the ring, he brought Lewis back inside the squared circle and hit the DIAMOND CUTTER to get the victory and the title as fans erupted.
Commissioner Chad came to ringside and offered his congratulations to Diamond Dallas Page. He then used the mic to call out Yukon Eric. As the wrestler came to ringside, the commissioner said, he was a “quitter” for abandoning the match with Danny Hodge at the last card. Yukon Eric said he was “trying to catch his breath" and “the ref counted too fast” in disqualifying him. Commissioner Chad nodded his head, then said that Yukon Eric’s rematch with Danny Hodge was next, and if he abandoned the match this time, he could “just keep on walking right out of BCW!”
Yukon Eric d. Danny Hodge when he locked on his KODIAK KRUNCH for the submission. Yukon Eric benefited from fellow Money Inc. member One Man Gang at ringside, who tripped up Hodge at a key moment. That went unseen by the referee, but not by Commissioner Chad, who came out afterward to confront Yukon Eric, who was not releasing the hold on Hodge after the bell rang. Yukon Eric finally dropped Hodge, then shoved the commissioner as the commish was talking to the referee! The commissioner got back to his feet, grabbed a mic and said, “Yukon Eric has been disqualified – from BCW!” He then left ringside, pursued by the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase, who had arrived to celebrate the victory, and One Man Gang, as fans waved bye to Yukon Eric!
BCW world tag-team champions Rob Van Dam and Sabu came to ringside with manager Bill Alfonso, who issued an open challenge for the titles. It was answered by the Masked Superstars!
BCW world tag-team champions Rob Van Dam and Sabu (w/ Bill Alfonso) d. the Masked Superstars when Van Dam hit a Van Daminator on Masked Superstar II and got the pin as the referee was distracted by Alfonso. Afterward, as the tag-team champs headed to the back, they were attacked by Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase, One Man Gang and, eventually, the Masked Superstars, and were left sprawled in the aisle. Afterward, DiBiase grabbed a mic at ringside and said: “Forget all the Yukon Eric nonsense. Instead, meet the next BCW tag-team champions, the Masked Superstars – under the new management of Money Inc.! The Million Dollar Man will show them how to win the belts and dominate BCW!” DiBiase then laughed as the fans booed.
In a qualifying match for Invasion/War Games, the Sheik (w/ Abdullah Farouk) d. Koko B. Ware when he used his CAMEL CLUTCH finisher to subdue Ware. The Sheik attacked before the bell rang and never let up. Ware will be wrestling for his BCW career at Invasion.
The commissioner came back out to announce that Mil Mascaras once again said that Lou Thesz was still “not qualified” for a rematch for the BCW world heavyweight championship, since Thesz was “a cheater” and Mascaras had to “prepare himself for War Games.” Commissioner Chad said he would help Mascaras “prepare himself” on this card – against the Sandman – “and preparation time is right now!”
BCW world heavyweight champion Mil Mascaras d. the Sandman when he used his CROSSBODY ATTACK to get the pin. Mascaras looked solid in getting the victory, but he wasn’t as solid after the match when the Sandman gave him a couple of stiff shots with his SINGAPORE CANE before departing.

YEAR NINE, CARD NO. 20
Eddie Graham Sports Stadium
Koko B. Ware d. Larry Sharpe using his GHOSTBUSTER finisher. Ware showed a certain amount of aggressiveness ahead of his possible BCW-career-ending match at Invasion/War Games.
Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase came to ringside, grabbed a mic and laughed about how the BCW world tag-team champions, Rob Van Dam and Sabu, wouldn’t be on the card tonight because they were still licking their wounds from the beating they took on the last card! Meanwhile, DiBiase said, on this card, the Masked Superstars, the newest members of Money Inc., would be placing a beating on the Sheepherders!
The Masked Superstars (w/ Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase) d. the Sheepherders by DQ when, after a fierce clash in the ring, Luke Williams took a chair to the back of Masked Superstar I outside the ring. As the bell rang ending the match, One Man Gang came to ringside, and it ended up being a four-on-two clash that ended with the Sheepherders sprawled out at ringside.
John Pesek d. George South by countout when he threw South out of the ring and South could not make it back before the 10-count. South gave Pesek fits throughout the encounter, and Pesek, who had not wrestled in a while, took a long time to gain any momentum as Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase watched from ringside.
Commissioner Chad came to ringside to announce that Mr. Fuji and Mr. Saito, coming off their first loss on the last card, were looking for a new challenge. He said that Danny Hodge, having recovered from his encounter with Yukon Eric, was up for the task, but he needed a tag partner. Hodge came to ringside to say he had found one – Lou Thesz! Thesz said that since he was still waiting for BCW world heavyweight champion Mil Mascaras to get over his “lying problems,” he would be willing to team with a man who beat him for the BCW heavyweight title earlier this year! With that, the match was on.
Lou Thesz and Danny Hodge d. Mr. Fuji and Mr. Saito when Thesz p. Fuji after a THESZ PRESS. Fuji jumped Hodge before the bell rung, but Hodge was eventually able to tag in Thesz, and he finished off Fuji before Fuji was able to tag in Saito, who glared at Thesz and Hodge. Thesz showed he was in solid form ahead of any eventual rematch with BCW world heavyweight champion Mil Mascaras.
Bill Apter’s “Hot Seat” featured Dan “The Beast” Severn. Apter asked why Severn was coming back to BCW now, and Severn said that the last time he was in BCW, clear back in Year 2, he was serving as an enforcer for the commissioner, and he didn’t even stay the full year before leaving. “This time around,” Severn said, “I’m here to compete for titles. I won the U.S. title once last time, and I intend to grab more belts this time around. Someone like a Ted DiBiase or a Mil Mascaras won’t be able to duck me!” Before Apter could ask another question, One Man Gang came to ringside. He grabbed Apter’s mic and told Severn he “didn’t want Ted DiBiase’s name coming out of a punk’s mouth like yours!” That set the pair to brawling before officials could break things up.
Boris Zhukov came to ringside with a mic and Ivan Koloff, and he called out Danny Doring and Roadkill, saying, “You two clowns are the reason Ivan Koloff and I are wrestling for our careers at Invasion, and for this, you need to pay – tonight!”
Ivan Koloff and Boris Zhukov d. Amish Roadkill and Danny Doring by countout when Koloff got Roadkill outside the ring and, with Zhukov tussling with Doring and distracting the referee inside the ring, gave Roadkill a huge shot to the head with his chain. Afterward, Zhukov picked up a mic and said, “Let that be the first of many lessons at our hands!”
One Man Gang came back to ringside, grabbed a mic and said he’d teach Severn a lesson later, but for now, he wanted to crow about how easily Diamond Dallas Page d. Ed “Strangler” Lewis to win the BCW U.S. heavyweight championship. One Man Gang said it was obvious that Lewis “wasn’t what he once was,” because One Man Gang would have fended off Page in a minute or less! That brought an angry Lewis to ringside to challenge OMG to a match.
One Man Gang p. Ed “Strangler” Lewis after a 747 SPLASH. Lewis got in only a little offense, as it appeared the title loss and his anger made him unprepared for One Man Gang’s determined attack. As One Man Gang celebrated afterward, he was attacked by Dan Severn, who slipped on his WAKIGATAME until officials were able to break things up. One Man Gang looked to be in severe pain afterward.
In an Invasion/War Games qualifying match, Jerry Lynn and Bryan Danielson d. Bruiser Brody and Dick Hutton by DQ when an agitated Brody interfered while Danielson and Hutton were outside the ring. Brody appeared perturbed that Hutton could not finish off Danielson despite five pin attempts – although Brody had the same issue earlier in the match. Afterward, a frustrated Brody pushed Hutton away and left ringside. Despite their issues, Brody and Hutton will be wrestling for their BCW careers at Invasion.
Commander Chad came to ringside with BCW world heavyweight champion Mil Mascaras. The commissioner said, “I want to read to everyone a letter from our world heavyweight champion. He said he is not afraid to face Lou Thesz, but he’s having some small, nagging injuries, and he wants to be at his best when he faces Thesz again, not like last time when he had to end his match early because he was hurt. He regrets calling Thesz a 'cheater' and said that was the pain talking. He also wants to be at full strength to bring another War Games title to the great fans of BCW.” The crowd started to boo in disbelief, but then they stopped in confusion when the Sheik and Abdullah Farouk came to ringside.
Abdullah Farouk took the mic and said, “The Sheik, who will also be wrestling for BCW at War Games, says that Mascaras is a coward, with no heart, and it makes the Sheik sick just to think about it! You wrestled the Sandman on the last card, but now you claim you are nursing your injuries? You are a coward!” With that, the Sheik slapped Mascaras in the face, and as the world heavyweight champion looked to retaliate, the commissioner held up his hand and said, “Not here, champ! You answer this insult like a true champion in the ring, one fall – and the title is on the line!”
BCW world heavyweight champion Mil Mascaras d. the Sheik (w/ Abdullah Farouk) by DQ when the Sheik threw a FIREBALL in the face of Mascaras, who barely avoided having his mask melted to his face! Mascaras looked to be very healthy during the first part of the match, despite his letter’s claim to the contrary. Then the Sheik took control and punished Mascaras before a small rally by the champion led to the FIREBALL attack.

YEAR NINE, CARD NO. 21
The Barn, Sanford
In a long, great match, Bruiser Brody and Dick Hutton d. the Sheepherders when Butch Miller submitted to Hutton’s ABDOMINAL STRETCH. Hutton and Brody worked decently well together ahead of their career-threatening match at Invasion/War Games, although the disdain between the two was obvious. Both men had chances to get the job done earlier against the Sheepherders but were unable to get the job done. Brody nearly got pinned before he could tag in Hutton.
U.S. heavyweight champion Diamond Dallas Page d. George South in a nontitle match when he hit the DIAMOND CUTTER. Page made quick work of South as he prepared for his battle with the other wrestling federations at War Games.
Jerry Lynn came out, took the mic at ringside and said that even though they had qualified to represent BCW at War Games, which was a great honor, he still had an issue from their last match with Mr. Saito and Mr. Fuji a couple of cards ago – and it was an issue he and Bryan Danielson wanted settled – now!
Bryan Danielson and Jerry Lynn d. Mr. Saito and Mr. Fuji by DQ when a mysterious hooded man attacked Danielson outside the ring, injuring him. The match had been a good one, despite Fuji throwing salt in Danielson’s eyes (unseen by the referee), until the bizarre finish. The hooded individual escaped when the facility suddenly went dark, further confusing the moment.
Val Venis came to ringside with a mic to say that watching U.S. heavyweight champion Diamond Dallas Page wrestler earlier on the card made him “sick.” He said he would have become the U.S. heavyweight champ earlier this year if it hadn’t been for the Sandman and his “blatant attack” on the referee in their No. 1 contender’s match. So, Venis said, it was time to administer the payback the Sandman so richly deserved!
In a brutal match, the Sandman d. Val Venis by countout when he gave Venis a HARDCORE DDT outside the ring and Venis was unable to answer the 10-count. Although there were five pin attempts before the finish, the two men seemed more intent on beating the brains out of each other than making a pin, and the referee let the physicality mostly happen. Both appeared physically wiped out afterward.
Boris Zhukov came to ringside with Ivan Koloff and said they wanted another warmup match ahead of the “stupid” Invasion competition for their BCW careers. Zhukov said he saw Danny Hodge wandering around the back and was probably looking for another tag-team partner, because “it’s not like Lou Thesz would tag with that stupid loser twice.” Hodge then came down to ringside, grabbed the mic from Zhukov and said, “You know what? I’ll answer your ‘stupid’ challenge, and guess who is joining me? That’s right – Lou Thesz!”
Lou Thesz and Danny Hodge d. Ivan Koloff and Boris Zhukov in a long, good match when Thesz used his THESZ PRESS to finish Zhukov, who had caused some problems for Thesz throughout the match. Hodge also acquitted himself well during the physical match.
One Man Gang d. Dan Severn by countout when One Man Gang gave Severn a scoop body slam outside the ring, then blocked the ref’s view while getting back inside the ring, allowing Masked Superstar II to sneak to ringside and give Severn a nasty BACKBREAKER, injuring him. Severn had put up a strong showing against the bigger One Man Gang before the abrupt ending. Afterward, One Man Gang and Masked Superstar II left ringside as the fans booed.
In an Invasion/War Games qualifying match, Bob Roop and “Superstar” Bill Dundee battled to a double DQ outside the ring, which came at the end of a long match in which neither man could gain a decided advantage. It took officials to separate the two men battling for their BCW careers. Commissioner Chad came to ringside to announce that the two would wrestler on the next card in a no-DQ match.
Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase came to ringside with the Masked Superstar and called out BCW world heavyweight champion Mil Mascaras. When Mascaras arrived at ringside, DiBiase offered to buy the world title off Mascaras, saying it seemed to be “giving him a bit of grief lately.” Mascaras shook his head “No,” to which DiBiase replied, “Every man has his price, and the price you get to pay tonight, since you turned down my generous offer, is a non-title match against the Masked Superstar, which the commissioner agreed is a good warmup for War Games!”
BCW world heavyweight champion Mil Mascaras d. the Masked Superstar (w/ Ted DiBiase) in a nontitle match when he launched a CROSSBODY ATTACK for the pin. After the pin was counted, Masked Superstar II came back to ringside and helped put the boots to Mascaras as DiBiase laughed and officials tried to clear the ring. DiBiase grabbed the mic and said, “Should have taken my offer, Mil. Too many people want to see you lose that title now, and my guys will be right at the front of the line to do it!”
