A legend of our great sport, one of the all time best villains of the squared circle and incalculably influential for decades on the British scene. Mick's obituary. To elaborate further, I understand that Mick lost the will to live after his wife passed away in January. Thanks for countless hours of entertainment, Mick. |

I was fortunate enough to have seen some comps of Mick's early work. A very good technician, outstanding ring psychology and a great businessman. His matches with Jackie Pallo are a must for any serious fan of wrestling history. RIP

Sorry to hear this. I echo the comments of LWPD. I have about a twenty-five DVD collection of World of Sport and I really enjoyed Mick McManus and his heel antics. They don't make them like that anymore, and I will be watching some bouts in tribute to this UK legend.

I was shocked when a friend told me about this. Great wrestler, he will be missed. RIP.

The original British heel I'm not sure that McManus can make that claim (men like Alan Garfield had been "heeling it up" for at least as long) but I'd certainly agree that Mick was the definitive villain in terms of British wrestlers. |

For those of you in the UK, BBC 4 are repeating the excellent, "When Wrestling Was Golden" documentary on Sunday evening at 2205hrs in tribute to Mick. Highly recommended if you haven't seen it before.
