Can anyone explain exactly how this match works. I have never seen one so I am confused about the batting order rule. For the sake of discussion, lets say we have two teams of five completing against one another. One heel (team H) and one face (team F). So according to the rules H1 would start into F1. Both would only be able to tag out to H2 and F2 respectively as they would be next in the batting order. What happens to H1 and F1 after they tag out. Do they stay at ringside? Do they go to the back? I assume that they would only be able to tag back into action after the balance of the team has seen action. Are all of the competitors on the ring apron like the traditional survivor series bout?

H1 and F1 go to the back of the batting order. All the competitors stay at ringside, usually only the next wrestler "on deck" stands on the apron while the others kneel down on the floor.

Here's a visual example of a ten man cibernetico from our friends at the CMLL back in '05... The match starts at about 2m.45sec. It should give you a good feel for the dynamics of a cibernetico match.

The Torneo Cibernetico originated in Mexico, with CMLL being the first to air it on television. It's an excellent booking concept that can deliver on multiple stories while building to the finish. Since there are so many people involved, the ordered entry gives the frenetic action some sense of logic and predictability, while strategically delaying the payoffs from certain pairings. Since only one man can win, there's an underlying tension where the illusion of being on a 'team' may or may not evaporate, as partners could be forced to fight each other. CHIKARA was smart to pick up on it, I'd love to see this one tried in WWE. For those who may want a visual of a very high-end version of the match, I'd recommend: 16 Man Cibernetico Match 4/18/97Negro Casas/ Atlantis/ Ultimo Dragon/ El Dandy/ Mascara Magica/ Shocker/ La Fiera/ Brazo De Oro vs El Hijo del Santo/ Dr. Wagner, Jr./ Felino/ Scorpio, Jr./ Black Warrior/ Kevin Quinn/ Satanico/ Silver King For those who may want to try it with the cards and dice (warning, it can be a long one) a few years back board member Jamie OD created a version that's in the PDF Download Library: Cyber Survivor/Torneo de Cibernetico: Credit JamieOD
