Yeah, not a fan of the "action" pose cards like Strong or Sara Del Ray's Kobald neck crunch pose on her updated Chikara card. I use them only as "epic" style upgrades when the wrestler reaches a superstar level. I'm even lukewarm about the recent "color" backgrounds used on the ROH cards. I guess I'm just a visual promotor that likes cohesion to help match stables/tag teams when I lay out a show.

I think the artwork is great. I'll take the "boring" Whitmer over Roderick Strong type artwork any day. I think this is how WWE thinks whenever they debut a new guy in black trunks and black boots (90% of the roster) then wonder why no one stands out. |

Not to many black trunk guys right now. Almost looks like early 90's WWF now days. Half expecting to see Man Mountain Rock to show up in his tye dye.

Not to many black trunk guys right now. Almost looks like early 90's WWF now days. Half expecting to see Man Mountain Rock to show up in his tye dye. That would actually be awesome. But back on topic: I am a fan of both styles of artwork--the action shots and the posed shots. It just depends on the wrestler. For SDR, her upgrade out of BDK made sense for her to have an Amazon Neck-Crunching Goddess action shot (though I wouldn't have used Kobald). Likewise for Green Ant's recent upgrade.* For Whitmer, I like the static, stoic pose. I think the team is doing a great job getting it right, mixing the action shots in with the regular art. * I wish I had nicked a copy of the briefly-posted art where Green Ant had the hold on Quackenbush. |

I think the team is doing a great job getting it right, mixing the action shots in with the regular art. This is how I feel. Gotta mix it up. Variety is the spice of life. |

Although there may be pieces that I don't particularly care for (i.e. Strong, Rockett), I don't hate any of the artwork done for the color cards. I have a preference yes, but if anybody knows me they know how appreciative I am for all of the time, effort & creativity that goes into putting these sets together. Besides, it's not like I can't have something re-drawn to my liking if I choose to (i.e. Kobald).
But back on topic, the set is looking fantastic and the Whitmer artwork suits him perfectly.

Question for anyone who can answer it or may know the answer to it, last week BJ Whittmer was revealed on a Wednesday due to the latest edition of Black death being announced on that Monday. Does that mean that the ROH card reveals have officially been moved to Wednesdays? I am fine with either but I would like to know one way or another so I don't waste my time sitting at my computer if it's not going to come on a specific day!  |
