hi guys new here...and just looking for feedback on cotg

new to cotg and have been waiting a few days for the box to arrive always been a huge fan of wrestling simulation...and i'm just wondering if this game is as good as everyone says it is...i'm looking forward to playing and excited about running my own fed(by myself first of course...lol)i know there are alot of experienced users here and would just like to know what to expect...also can i create my own wrestlers and if so do the cards for that come seperate?thanks in advance

Welcome trent987! I'm taking it that you bought the Champions of the Galaxy set? That was a good one, I remember buying that one when I was 12 back in 1986 or 87. I remember getting that set and seeing the Gladiators of Aethra and that was it that got me hooked of the GWF. I broke the storyline and ran the Gladiators with Wolf, for one really awesome trio until the big man Spike came along in 2088. But there is only one default rule when playing this game "It's all up to you, Promoter!"

I tend to enjoy running my feds, where I running the company like a CEO or the commissioner. Of course, I do play favorites with the Gladiators of Aethra stable always will. Feel free to look at the other members feds post that they post here for ideas. There is a link to my fan GWF fed website. I'm currently playing on the GWF 2128 edition, where Black Death is tring to take over the GWF. I hope you enjoy your game edition!

Oh, to answer your question, yes the blank wrestlers cards come separate from the game editions. But, you can create your own wrestlers without the need of buying the create-a-wrestler cards. You can create on the computer and then just print them out on a heavier stock printing paper. I normally use photo paper but I'm sure that others you something else. Check out the GWF bootleg section on the boards here to get some ideas on how to do that. Also, I might wait on creating your own until you get more familiar with the game.

I'm in the process of creating three new wrestlers for my 2129 edition and getting the moves and finishers just right can be tricky. As you dont want a wrestler being to strong or to under powered.

Hey Trent! Yes. the card game should be everything and more than you're looking for the product is great and alows you to basically run free with just about anything you want. The creativity it allows you to utilize is amazing. Not only that but the community and feedback is top notch. You will enjoy the game!

Welcome Trent! I find that this game can be overwhelming at times, because there are so many great products and fan based creations to this game! Having said that, it's a great outlet and provides hours and hours of entertainment! One of my favorite things about this game is the promoters out there and their own creativity and spin on things! Many fine folks here on these boards have contributed many cool and unusual things throughout the years and that is what makes this game the best!

It was hard for me to get going when I first bought the game. Until I came to the message boards was really what sparked my interest and got me into it fully! The folks here are tremendous and feel more like family members then game members! So stick with the boards here, feel free to ask any questions you have and any help you might need! Many will be eager to help get you rolling! Inspiration is just a stone's throw away! Keep those dice dizzy and enjoy the game!

thanks guys...much appreciated..the order arrived today!and i'm sooo psyched and i haven't even opened it...i'm gonna have a tournament for the belts(not only to get the feel of the game)but so i have some ranking system with the wrestlers and of course looking forward to coming up with my own storylines etc...
