And yet, here they are in my mailbox today! "Monday" indeed.
"Spoilers" ahead:
First thoughts:
Taven is stronger than I anticipated, but that suits the TV champ. The art is phenomenally good, but sadly, reflects several elements of him I won't be using (Hoopla Hotties, ROH TV Title, belt hanging over his hoo-hah.) Personal preference; still a fan.
Fish is a little weaker than I expected, given that he's a tag champ. His partner has also been a very low-performer for me--maybe the whole will be greater than the sum of its parts? (Did notice, however, that he's the only one in this set with out "that thing" on L2D...which will be a profound advantage for him.)
ACH looks good, and for some reason, I want to put him in a tag team with 2 Cold Scorpio.
QT Marshall... Sorry, but this one is a slight miss for me. First, I hate "manager interference - 3" as a move on a card, even if it is apt. We are already limited to 15 of the holds and moves the guys do; this just takes away a slot that could be used for another signature moves. Also, I miss manager cards. Even if the backs are completely blank. Even if it just has a note on there: "when rolling on Level 3 Offense, you may subsitute "manager interference - 3" on a roll of 5, which would bring back space for another of the guy's common moves.
Tadarius Thomas is about where he should be. Something makes me want to team him with QT Marshall. QTD? (Also, quoth the missus upon reviewing the cards: "What's up with all the initials? Don't they get names anymore?" A rare funny line from her, even if it wasn't intentional.) LOVE the action pose on his card.
BJ Whitmer is a little more potent than I thought he might be, given his age, but I'm perfectly happy with the card. If we ever get a Legacy pack (or random legacy cards), I'd live to see a long-haired Whitmer prime card, maybe from his days with The Prophecy.
I hadn't realized how much four of these six guys look alike. That is NOT a knock on Werner--they just have similar facial features, hair styles, and so on. All in all, aside from the minor misgivings I mentioned with respect to Marshall, a very good set. Except...
NO BIO SHEET! That's the only thing that truly disappoints me. Still, good job, guys.
EDITING to add: FWIW, I'd HAPPILY pay for a set of manager cards for the folks we are missing from CWH (Olivia, the Family Stone, etc.), the people who are "extras" on other cards (Brutal Bob, Maria, Veronica Ticklefeather, etc.), and anyone else who is mentioned or pictured somewhere, with a game effect, but no card of their own. Again, even with blank backs. I'd even like Juan Francisco's manservant. Err. I mean, I'd like a card for him.

*laughs* so much for getting them first by going to the show. Thanks for the review. I just don't think there's enough of an audience for a group of manager cards especially with Maria (and maybe Bob) heading out, Veronica perhaps gone for good, etc.

I know I'm in the minority with regard to the manager cards--that's just a personal preference of mine. It doesn't detract from my enjoyment or anything--just a personal preference.
As for who's leaving/not leaving, I think we should all (some of us more than others (not you guys)) just accept that we don't know what's really going on, and we should just not expect anything to happen until it actually happens.
You'll find your enjoyment of wrestling improves. I promise.

My enjoyment of wrestling without Chikara I have to admit is mostly youtube action of the 80s *laughs* and COTG of course.

I for one also enjoy manager/ valet cards that are separate, since you can have that wrestler leave the manager or vice versa in one's promotion. I was hoping to get a Prince Nana card in this set.

I got a copy of these cards yesterday at Best in the World in Baltimore and I actually got 2 of them signed already (ACH and Tadarius Thomas.) Overall I think Switch-Truth, Swarm, Werner, Tournament Master, and everyone else involved with the product did a good job.
Although my Ring of Vegas fed is mostly the CWFH wrestlers and the ROH cards of wrestlers in PWG, I will enjoy using these new cards in my Lachikaras Vegas and Combat Vegas Wrestling feds which will both be back in action soon.

Swarm review -
MATT TAVEN - My favorite card in the set. Best art and best stats. Spoiler Alert: I knew Taven was going to be champ after BITW beating Jay Lethal, and go on to beat guys like Eddie Edwards soon after, so he needed to have a card that could hang with the best in the O box set. Def the best card in the pack. **** 1/2
QT MARSHALL - Normally I prefer separate cards for managers but in this case it works better together imo. Marshall is a newcomer, just beginning to write his ROH history. Having RD EVANS with him adds some color, and spices him up. If Marshall ever rises up in ROH and becomes a force, he can always get an update. Without Evans, QT is just a dude right now. ** 1/2
ACH - Wasn't crazy about his face at first but I think I'm getting used to it. His -3 agility will help him a lot in ROH. He also makes a great crossover star for CHIKARA, being former YLC. ***
TADARIUS "TD" THOMAS - Cool art, good little undercard guy. I'll use the Adrenaline Rush tag team for awhile, but plan to use both of these guys in singles too. * 1/2
BJ WHITMER - This is one of those cards where I think I'll really like using him even though I'm not a huge fan of Whitmer in real life. The stats came out nice. He's make a good mid-card power guy and a guy you could really plug in anywhere heel or face if you wanted to get creative. *** 1/2
BOBBY FISH - If you use choice charts, he'll be better than he looks on paper. Someone else already noticed he doesn't have a down -3 on L2D (and only 2 on L3D). In the current COTGalaxy, that's a HUGE thing to not have. ****
The bios are out there. I know I have them in my email box somewhere. I'll see if I can find them. Overall I give the pack a solid *** out of ***** stars. Solid addition to the original box set. You get a top guy in Taven, a tag team, a veteran and a newcomer with his manager. Nicely put together!

I appreciate the review Swarm, I just got my set in the mail today and I wasn't expecting it until at least Saturday, I took a break from my ROH fed to wait for the expansion pack to come out so now that it is out I might have to start playing again!
