Here is a chart we created back in the day. It allowed for another element of strategy, and also helped to move character development forward based on how the crowd reacts to different wrestlers. Each wrestler was allowed one roll on this chart per match. If a match took place in a location with no crowd, there is no Hype the Crowd opportunities. You must roll on this chart BEFORE your opponent rolls on his offensive move.
I may redo this chart and have characters with lower DQ rates have a better chance of something good happening. Just a thought. Let me know what you think.
Hype the Crowd
Roll : Outcome
2: Crowd viciously boos you. You turn to yell at them and your opponent uses his finisher on you. Roll your pin + opponents finisher rating
3-4: Crowd boos you. Opponent gets charged and moves in for the kill. Opponent rolls on Level 3 defense
5: Crowd boos you. You turn and look at them in shock. Opponent comes from behind and puts you in a small package. Roll your pin.
6-8: There is no response from the crowd. Continue match.
9-10: Crowd cheers giving you the strength to turn the tide. You roll on Level 1 offense.
11: Crowd cheer loudly angering your opponent. While he's distracted you take advantage. You roll on Level 2 offense.
12: A deafening cheer comes from the crowd as they chant your name in unison. Revitalized, your opponents attacks have no affect you. You block his last attempt and apply your finisher. Opponent rolls PIN + your finisher rating.
