Very sad news. I used a bootleg for Jackie in my fed for a while. A great part of Memphis wrestling history for sure and he had some great runs outside of Memphis as well. RIP.

Very sad news. I used a bootleg for Jackie in my fed for a while. A great part of Memphis wrestling history for sure and he had some great runs outside of Memphis as well. RIP. QFT. Jackie Fargo was the prototype for the Southern style of brawling that captivated generations of fans for many years to come. From the Fargo Strut to mentoring Jerry Lawler, he was one of the biggest local draws stars of the territorial era. Back then, there were no lucrative television contracts, residual streams of revenue or wealthy financial backers to fall back on, it was basically draw a house or starve. Jackie was one of those guys who was able to consistently talk a paying audience into coming to see him, time and time again. In many ways, a lost art. The Memphis video library situation is a mess, but fortunately there are still bits and pieces of Jackie's career scattered about online to enjoy.
