Okay, thanks for that information.... I didn't see any posts about "rules" or anything for running a fed, so I didn't want to just start making stuff up and have it be some kind of breach of etiquette or something..... It's a hobby, any creative expression that comes from playing the game is cool and appropriate. If you want a variety of insights into why people enjoy posting their Feds on this board (and what aspects readers of those threads most appreciate) you may want to check out these two threads: Reading FedsWrite-up/results importance...Good luck and have fun!

Hey Turko! Welcome to the boards, and glad to have you gaming. I have been playing for over 20 years, and it is a lot of fun running a fed.
A fed, or federation, is nothing more than a group of wrestling cards put together to be played with. These are your singles, tag team, and women's wrestlers you want to see compete against one another. There are two kinds of feds, basically. There are the ones that are driven by the set editions (follow them in order, replace talent as indicated), which are the GWF, CPC, aCe/POW styled sets. And there are ones where you can determine which talent is in the fed. You can go those with the sets above, or use the independent wrestler sets, such as Chikara, Ring of Honor, NWA Hollywood East, CZW, and Shimmer.
However you put together your federation (or federations - why stop at one?), there are a few rules to keep in mind...
1) Have fun! If you are not having fun, you are doing something wrong.
2) Have fun! Seriously, no rule is as important, so it gets a second mention.
3) Make sure that there is a goal for the players/characters to work for. Are they championship belts? Are they winning matches against feuding enemies? Is it in winning a tournament or a big main event? Whatever you feel will heighten the game play, use it.
4) Don't be afraid to use characters differently than they are portrayed in the handbooks. If you feel a wrestler works better as a hero than a villain (or vice versa), make it happen. Want to put together a new tag team? Go for it! There are a lot of components that you have to work with, so it would be in your best interest to use them all, wouldn't it?
5) Keep track of your results. Use a computer or a notebook, but keep a log of sorts. You'd be surprised how quickly you can create a history in your fed!
I'm sure there are a lot of other bits of advice you'll receive, so I'll keep it short here. But again, glad to have you aboard and keeping the dice dizzy!

One of my favorite storylines i am running in 2087, and this is a spoiler for when I get my website going. Omega may be the father of a GWF super villian!!!
Definately not in the books, just put your own spin if you like.

Hey, trent987.... Yeah, I got the game and started running a fed right away and posting in the fed forum, but I got pretty busy and lost my momentum.... I'll have to figure out the best times to fit the game in with all the other stuff going on in my life, and also figure out how I want to run the fed as far as story lines and complexity are concerned. Still learning the ropes, but it's definitely a cool game!

The easiest way to describe this game is wrestling dungeons & Dragons. If you just sat down to play this like checkers, your only goal to beat the other guy,it would be a shallow, unfun, and possibly unfair game. What it is is a toolset for you to create stories, both the little story of a bell to bell wrestling match, and the overall story of a promotion. Want to have an evil authority holding the faces down like WWE? Do it. Want to have crazy shenanigans and time travel like Chikara? Do it. Combine the two ,if you want. Decide its a backyard federation putting shows on YouTube ,or a billion dollar company running the Tokyo Dome! It's anything you want it to be.
