Cage matches

The main event for my fed's Best In The World is a cage match between Jay Lethal and Tommaso Ciampa to blow off their feud. I am a bit confused as to how to do the match though. In the FilsingerGames instruction book it says under cage match that the goal is to climb out of the cage either via the top or though the door. When you roll a pin assume that the wrestler is trying to leave the cage.

So if Jay Lethal rolls pin than he is trying to leave the cage? That's what I get according to the instruction book and that doesn't make sense.

Also using cage ratings Ciampa's rating is a 4 and Lethal's is a 3, so does that mean that if Ciampa rolls a 4 or less or Lethal rolls a 3 or less that they escape the cage?

Please help, I want to know how to do the match before I actually do it. I thought it was pretty straight forward but like I said I am a bit confused on how to do the match.

The wrestler on defense, if they roll their pin - use the cage rating. So if Lethal being pinned and rolls 3 or less, than Ciampa escapes the cage. Instead of picturing the guy on offense going for the pin, he is trying to get out. If the wrestler on offense rolls his Finisher, than add that rating to the opponent's cage and roll their pin.

For cage matches, you can say pinfalls or submissions win the match instead of escaping, it's up to you.

When Tom wrote the original Cosmic Cage rules (back in the mid 80s) the WWF 'winners escape the cage' was fairly mainstream. The Torture Chamber debuted a few years later. The losing wrestler was pinned (with triple jeopardy rules in place) and then automatically rolled for injury duration. You can get that one in the GWF Ringside Companion.
