Dragon "CHIKARA" Con is coming

This weekend starting tomorrow morning will be Dragon Con here in Atlanta.
As part of the convention they always feature wrestling and even have a belt that is fought over every year.

This time around I have decided to hold a 4 day Chikara Dragon Tournament with Singles, Tag Team and Trios events.

I will be posting the cards later today and doing Singles Round 1 tomorrow, Tag Team on Saturday, Singles Finale Sunday and Trios on labor Day.

Results will most likely be posted on Tuesday once I have internet back.

All published Chikara wrestlers will be eligible and we may even see some strange masks showing up in multiples (No wrestler can participate in more than one event so either as a singles, team or trios).

Match 1) Sara Del Rey Vs Green Ant (LE Version)
Sara started the match hard. Arm Drag, into the ropes followed by a clothesline out of the ring.
Green Ant staggered back into the ring where Sara hit the Royal Butterfly. Green Ant is out of the competition
(as a note Green Ant rolled a 2 on his PIN Save!?!)

Match 2) El Generico VS Saturyne
Seemingly determined to keep the momentum going Saturyne came out strong and fast.
El Generico was ready however and the match saw a lot of back and forth with both wrestlers giving the fans a show to remember. But El Generico continually kept the upper hand. In the end Saturyne went out of the ring to try and catch her breath but had to come back before being counted out. El Generico was waiting for her and as soon as she came through the ropes he finished her to the delight of the crowd as multiple voices seemed to be shouting BRAINBUSTAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!.

Match 3) Mister Zero Vs Gregory Iron
Bryce was announced as the referee for this match so the veterans of the crowd were ready for anything.
Mr Zero got things started and though Iron looked good he never seemed to be able to take the offensive. At one point Mr Zero was able to get Iron into a submission and then took a coffee break during the match! (It was later confirmed he took a moment to read the Daily Dragon update which he handed t Bryce to point out a scheduling change). The match came to its conclusion after Mr Zero threw Iron into the Turnbuckle then followed it up with a Blue Thunder Bomb and then the Last Shaven Unicorn!

Match 4) Mark Angelosetti Vs Ethan Page
Ethan Page started the match and Angelosetti countered shortly thereafter, unfortunately Page was having none of it and to keep Angelosetti under control kept throwing him out of the ring to counter his athleticism and high flying skills. After 4 near pinfalls Page was able to connect with the Reverse Brainbuster for the Pin

During a brief intermission most of the chikara Roster came out to great fans and pose for a few pictures.
Dragon Dragon especially seemed popular with crowd posing for the most pictures by far.

Match 5) Dragon Dragon Vs ColtCabana
In what turned out to be the loudest match of the day (at least if you count the noise coming from the crowd), Colt entered the ring first and some of the crowd seemed stunned to see a “Real Live Dragon” appear, and even those in the know where surprised to see him accompanied by The Dark Menace! Dragon Dragon started the match but Colt reversed into a Dragon Moonsault to show that he was ready to fight Dragon Dragon on it’s own terms. This caused a near fall but The Dark menace helped pull Dragon Dragon out of the ring. Climbing back into the Ring Colt immediately put the Dragon into a Cobra Clutch. After a few more moves from Colt Dragon Dragon once again left the ring but Colt followed him out and a tombstone piledriver but the Dragon was too strong and pushed Colt into the corner post dazing Colt. With The Dark Menace’s Help Dragon Dragon rolled Colt back into the ring and prepared for a deathjump but Colt knocked him off the turnbuckle. Seemingly desperate Colt grabbed a chair but then threw it down and hit Dragon Drago with the Colt .45. menace Steps in with his cane but Colt threatens with the chair again sending both the chair and Dark Menace out of the ring then covers Dragon Dragon. 1..2…3!!!! Dragon Dragon is pinned and the Dark menace is furious!!!

Match 6) Delirious Vs 2 Cold Scorpio
Delirious starts the match but 2 Cold reverses early and stays strong. Trying to catch a breath Delirious rolls out of the ring and as 2 Cold comes out to drag him back Delirious sucker punches 2 Cold then dragged him into the ring for a Bizarro Driver. Kick out and once again Delirious leaves the ring seeming to talk to himself and argue with an invisible opponent. As 2 Cold steps to the adge of the apron to figure out what is going on Delivrious grabs him pulling him out fo the ring. 2 Cold escapes and retunrs to the ring taunting Delirious into coming abck in. 2 near falls later and Delirious once again throws a fit and throws 2 Cold out of the ring and grabs a steel chair. 2 Cold Scorpio is now Out Cold Scorpio and Delirious is Disqualified, having to be chased oou of the area


Match 7) Shane Hollister VS Arik Royal
Arik started and what turned out to be a rope work and ropetrick showcase (One sequence involved 12 straight into the ropes or ropes roll again results ending with a Curt Cobain Sick Kick) Arik hit Shane Hollister with a 5th Last Drop and Shane was pinned (his Pin rating with fatigue was 9)

Match 8) Daniel Bryanson Vs Tim Donst (Mt Rushmore)
As Daniel’s music came on a loud crack was heard from the entrance area and Daniel fell hard on the floor.
While personnel rushed to him, a shadowed figure moved deeper into the back. As medical lifted Daniel onto a stretcher it was noticed that The Dark Menace was talking to officials at the announcers table and pointing to Daniel. After much gesturing and nodding Gavin Loudspeaker came to the ring. “In response to Bryan Danielson’s inability to compete in this final match, allow me to introduce a new Challenger, Larry Sweeney and his manager The Dark Menace".
Menace stepped out holding the curtain for Sweeney. Donst looked confused. Sweeney started strong hitting with a forearm Shiver than a Boa Constrictor and before Donst knows what’s happening he is down from a Large Elbow Drop
Sweeney stands over the defeated Donst with The Dark Menace demanding the crowd shout Larry’s Name. However the Sour part of the chant seems to be louder than the sweet.
