It's like going back to your childhood home. Filsinger Games makes a triumphant return to the pages of PWI with the latest issue, their big PWI 500 spectacular! Filsinger Games is front and center appearing early on page 11! History being made again! It might not be the Spike babysitter ad but it kicks butt in 2013! www.pwi-online.com/

Takes me back to 1987 in the pages of PWI that caused me to rush out to the living room... A much younger uwamandate: "Dad, can I get this game" Dad: "No, it'll just be a waste of money"
A couple months later & a whole lot of Mom vs Dad maneuvering: Late 1987 Still a much younger uwamandate: "Can I please get this game Dad?" (Holding up another issue of PWI) Dad: "I guess, don't complain to me when they don't come out with anything else after this" (As Dad's will was broke by a tandem effort...Mother & Son!)
Thank you Tom for giving me an annual "I told you so" to use on my father...The same story on Thanksgiving, the same room full of laughs as a response!

Thanks for sharing that great story! My father thought the same thing about many things I loved and some of those survived too!

Has anyone got a scan of the new ad - would love to see it? I don't much care for modern day wrestling so would never buy the magazine - my only link to wrestling in years has been legends and the GWF.
I think the first ad I ever saw featured a profile of Whiplash and mentioning Lord Nexus as his chief rival. It sounded so cool. Being a young teenager in the UK back then made it seem an impossible purchase. But I kept seeing the ads and eventually my mum done some kind of postal order thing and I got the lot (2087-2095).
My favourite ads from memory:-
1. Promotional for Alpha Force feud against Dreadnaught. The ad even mentioned 'Will you make the match a Cosmic Cage or Torture Chamber match'. I had no idea what a Torture Chamber match was but how cool did that sound. And what an awesome drawing for Dreadnaught! 2. Bishop Hell versus Galactic Punisher. Loved it. And when the ad mentioned 'Will you allow Bishop Hell's manager to be at ringside?' I thought wow, there are even interfering managers in this too!! 3. Gladiators of Aethra intro. Blew me away. Loved the names. They looked and sounded incredible. I think the ad was wise to show the 2087 Brute instead of the 2090 overweight version - I loved the original drawing! 4. Newcomer Raven to challenge Spike in 2095. I think this was the last one I ever saw. But it was the clincher. I ordered the lot a short while after seeing this ad. Raven looked so dynamic and I think this ad had the most detailed run down of what you could expect. Something like 10 reasons to buy!
