I don't think anyone knows all of what is going on behind the sense, and speculation is futile. Will this launch Chikara into the mainstream when it reaches its resolution? Probably not. But I disagree that it will come back any "worse" than it was before.
I thin the smartest thing we, as fans, can do is stop trying to peel back the layers and let it play out. No one is ever going to know what happened behind the scenes.
In short, I agree with Grant. If you are irritated or put off by the way this has gone down, it probably wasn't meant to appeal to you. The attitudes and behaviors of those at the Chikarmy board have already been discussed on this forum--they are probably in the best position to enjoy what happens because they have (willfully or not, ignorantly or no, foolishly or not) put on blinders to what "really" happened to play into the conspiracy.
At least, that's what my contact at Condor Security told me.

Having never met Mike I can't say but if this article is correct, I'm not sure he cares if the general populace gets it. He only wants the 'right people' to get it. www.toledofreepress.com/2011/01/05/mcginnis-‘the-right-people-will-get-this’/In this day and age when entertainment bombards us from every playing directly to the CHICKArmy is super smart. Play to your core. The people who get it. The people who will support you no matter what. As for the break, who knows what was going on personally in his life?" Maybe he needed a 6 month break and this storyline was a way to achieve that. Not a Chikara fan but I am a fan of anyone who creates art for themselves first, not the general public. And it seems to me in my limited Chikara experience, Mike considers it art. Hard for some to understand in our capitalistic focused society but sometimes it's not about the money. Sometimes it's about telling the story you want to tell, critics be damned. The curious interplay of Obama inspired economic thoughts aside, it is odd for a wrestling promotion to be focused on something other than WHAT PUTS PEOPLE IN SEATS. Currently nothing Chikara does puts anyone in any seats. Right now Chikara is drawing as well as WCW (i.e. not a single person). But to leave your fans hanging is pretty odd, but then again if you like a never ending cliffhanger have at it.

And I think that's the thing. Their fans DO love the never-ending cliffhanger.
It may not make sense to the rest of the world, but I do think that's the case.

To each their own I guess. From reading Chikara's forum, their core fan base is a well, a curious group.

The curious interplay of Obama inspired economic thoughts aside I certainly didn't vote for Obama, but I see that my mention of capitalism could lead you to think I trying to get some political jab in. I wasn't. Simply trying to point out that people sometimes create art for other reasons than to make money.

You offer a worthy an explanation for the current state of Chikara as anyone Toasterboy. Quack's reasoning for what is/has been going on is only known by him I would guess.

A friend have mine that has done some Wrestling Is shows told me that Quack cheated on his wife with Saturyne and she found out, and that was the reason for the break. Though, right when it happened he told me that Chikara was "definitely done" so basically take that for what it's worth. Quack shot that rumor down a while back.
