I know nothing of Doug Gilbert; never saw him in action and there's not much on youtube, but I'll definately use his card as a partner for Eddie.
I wonder how the rest of you will use him?

I wonder how the rest of you will use him? How I use Doug will depend a lot on the card. My memories of Doug are mostly as a tag team wrestler, but he had a lot of success in Memphis and some in Dallas as a singles guy. If his card is more tag focused, I'll probably team him with Dennis Condrey, reforming the short lived but awesome duo of "The Lethal Weapons". If he's more singles focused, I'll probably book him against Koko B Ware in his first program. Either way, I'll probably have him join his brother Eddie in Camp Cornette.

The only Jason I acknowledge is the Jason the Terrible from Stampede
I'll probably add Doug to my Memphis Territory anyway, it's pretty sad and can use what I can get

This was 1989 I am most certain Tommy was originally Freddy, but then Doug took over. I know it was Doug as Freddy in Japan. Either way I wouldn't be glad to see a Nightmare Freddy card in Legends (and neither would the lawyers), but maybe Promoter Prime could be a nice way to get a Tommy Gilbert card this year.

Here's a funny story about Tommy donning the mask as Frddie. Memphis' Saturday show was a live 1.5 hour show and built up for the Monday night card. The promotion would edit it to an hour show and bycycle the tapes to Louisville, Nashville, Evansville, Lexington, etc. So Memphis was live and the rest of the territory was a week late
You wouldn't have thought it, but Freddie was SUPER OVER throughout the territory. Around the same time, Lance Russell had left the promotion to go to WCW, which left Dave Brown taking over as host. They'd have regular co hosts like Michael St John (the guy that narrated the famous Kimala vignette) or Randy Hales, but they'd also bring in local celebrities on occasion to fill in. I can't remember their names, but a husband and wife team that were local DJs were brought in to guest co host. Mind you, this was still 1989 and kayfabe was still the word, especially in the Memphis area, so these two weren't "smartened up".
I don't know the participants, it was like Mike Davis and Dirty White Boy, but the TV main event was a six man match with Freddie and two other faces taking on the heels. Freddie's gimmick was he was Freddie, so the heels were instructed to be chicken **** around him. Fans in the Memphis area never had a hang up about body type or size like others; they liked great characters, storylines, etc.
Well, legit, Tommy was 5-9, 5-10, 190, so he wasn't a huge man by any means, but he was portraying Freddie. So during the six man, he finally got the tag, so he comes in. The heels then scattered from the ring to the floor's of the WMC studios.
Fans are going wild when he hit the ring, but the idiot women starts going, "Why are the bad guys scared of him? He's the smallest guy in the match?" Dave Brown, being the professional he was, tried to change the focus back to the match, but she wouldn't drop it, because Brown to become tongue tied. There wasn't a whole lot they could do with the live version, but shocked they didn't try to edit out on the bicycle version
