Just bought the 2087 game edition for COTGonline. Completely new to all this, I think I stumbled across this all a few years ago but just found it again via some sports replay site. Anyway, something about it intrigues me so I thought I'd give it a go.
Looking forward to messing around with it, I do prefer physical components, but the online stuff seems like a good way to get started before I order anything for international post.
Cheers all, any tips for someone completely new are gratefully recieved.
I did find a thread with some ideas about how to run a fed so I might start by copying that process.

I always start a tournament to crown a new champ. While the book is a good "guide", dont feel like you have to go by it. Grow feuds Don't overwhelm yourself and get burned out. The first set has 24 guys. Too many cards and you'll keep getting "Cena v Orton". When I restarted, I went to 24 cards (2 cards a month) per game edition. I used to do TV Tapings, ppv, house shows...got overwhelmed. Keep it simple. I feel I can be a bit more creative

Welcome. Just have fun and remember, it's your fed. Run it however you want.

Thanks, yep going to try and work something out. I think a starting tournament sounds like a good idea. I guess the problem I have is lack of knowledge of how wrestling federations work generally. I watched some WWF years ago, and whilst I remember the spectacle, I have no idea how they did any sort of ranking or anything. Will do as suggested though and just do what feels right

On my non-online sets I just go by win/loss and how good the matches are to rank. Sometimes it might be story driven by a lucky fluke win that pushes a character into the main event. It's fun to be flexible and have those surprises.
