I enjoyed the 2015 Hall of Fame, especially Butch Miller, but man that was a long one. I guess they have been long in the past as well but for some reason this one seemed like it would go on forever. I watched it the morning of WM31 and had a hard time watching it straight through.

Just got it. Watched Starcade 83 and the first Saturday Nights Main Event. I'm going to tear through the vault over the next few months and get caught up on NXT.

Watched Battle Bowl 93 last night. It's an interesting idea that I'd try as a PPV for one of my feds but I kinda got bored halfway through and by the time I got to the battle royal at the end I didn't really care anymore.

Watched Battle Bowl 93 last night. It's an interesting idea that I'd try as a PPV for one of my feds but I kinda got bored halfway through and by the time I got to the battle royal at the end I didn't really care anymore. I enjoyed these shows for the novelty, though admittedly they weren't great. On paper they look really good, but I think one of its inherent problems is mixing the faces/heels, which takes the crowd out of it without a clear side to cheer or boo. Some of the matches were overbooked and nonsensical, like a babyface sabotaging his own team's chances because he's partnered with a heel, then celebrating with the other babyface post-match after causing his own team to lose. The idea might work better now that the lines between face and heel are more blurry and people just cheer whoever they want to. |
