well, he's been in TNA forever. apparently he's paid enough dues to gain the title. For whatever that's worth?!

I think he also has some main stream success with his show on Animal Planet, so I guess TNA is capitalizing on that. At this point, I guess they are trying to do something to get noticed.

Well given that they've pretty much lost Aries, Sabin, Daniels, Kazarian and from the looks of it, Joe as well, it's not like they have a ton of options left.

I don't have a problem with TNA rewarding a loyal soldier, per se. However, if Eric Young is the face of your promotion, TNA has some major issues.

I would have liked it better if it wasn't a blatant rip off of WWE. Sabin I didn't mind, it gives a 'anyone can win' vibe which is cool. Young I would totally be OK with rewarding after a long stint if they weren't just trying to get people to think he's Daniel Bryan-lite.

Yep, they're low-balling a lot of longtime stars on contract renewals. I'm guessing they figure they can rebuild using top indie guys but when you're likely able to make the same money working the indies/being one of the select few who goes to Japan, why bother going to TNA?

I have agree Switch-Truth. Maybe just for TV coverage?
