My only nitpick is that while I like the current version of PainMaster and all - he's been going strong for 20+ years now. Gotta be close to hanging it up.

yeah, but I wonder if age is just a number for the race of PainMaster. I mean, say for instance, Jack Hood's race is known for aging slower than say a human and are around for hundreds of years. I don't know, but maybe something like that can be said for PainMaster's race?

Can't wait to see where the Omni and Odyssey angle goes as well.

Very cool. I was hoping that Bloat would make the cut. I do think that Painmaster HAS to be getting a little long in the tooth by now. Mandrill and Tocsin are now at least 3 years retired.
I think he'd be great as a manager, though.

One advantage for PainMaster is we have no idea what race he is. He can be as old or wrestle for as long as Kris wants him to do so.

All good points about PainMaster. From my perspective, I saw that next to Lance At-Las (who's described early on by Tom as being from a very long-lived race), Master had been around for a WHILE...I think he debuted in the GWF in like 2101 or 2102. Assuming he was the ripe age of 25 years old back then when he debuted, he'd be a 45 year old guy with two decades of experience. Definitely realistic in my opinion. Throw in the "alien aging factor" and it's a done deal. Anyhow, his second to last card (2117 I think) was a bit too studly for the amount of years he'd spent in the ring regardless of race. Plus, I don't imagine he and Sycophant (who's also of PainMaster's race) as being exceptionally long-lived. Without getting too involved in my thought process (too late!), I wanted the guy to stick around for storyline purposes...plus, I do like the idea of at least ONE "old timer past their prime" type dude sticking around. Anyway, I wanted new artwork to reflect his older age and his stats for the 2121 card were a major downgrade. In addition to switching back to tag action full time, he's also (behind Trisis) the first of the aCe characters to get a Distractor Rating...meaning I too see him as leaning towards a manager as opposed to full time wrestler. He's got one final storyline left to play a part in. It'll be a good one too. Promise. ~ :-Xsk

I can't see why age is such a sticking point with Painmaster. Even comparing him to athletes in our modern time, it's not unreasonable to think he'd still be able to maintain for another ten years of more. Look at the performance enhancing drugs and sports nutrition in general that are, or are alleged to be, enabling today's athletes to perform at a very high level well into their 40s. Is it such a stretch to think that a guy with a criminal mind like Painmaster would be above taking a "shortcut" to extending his athletic career?
