The Cauliflower Alley Club is saddened to learn that AWA announcer Larry Nelson passed last night after a short bout with pancreatic cancer.

Don was a professional wrestler with the NWA (National Wrestling Association) from 1950 thru 1970.

I didn't start watching the AWA until 1988 and it was already dying a slow death. Yet, I remember Larry Nelson very well and enjoyed his work.

Coincidentally, I heard an interview with him on YouTube a few months ago and found a few articles written by him (perhaps from a book he wrote?) through Tom Zenk's website. Based on all that it seems like Larry was quite the partier (but who wasn't back in those days?).
