Yes it is Mr. Beck, I have it framed on my game room wall. You was an NGO member (far right) and if I'm not mistaken that's the year you drove through a hurricane to get to the con from Mississippi. So, the "Bogus" Pete nickname came to being that afternoon because the "Real" Pete would never have left his family in the path of a Hurricane to fly out of harm's way while they were left to weather it out. It was Hurricane Danny and it delayed my flight by a day, wasn't driving to Jamestown yet as the boys were still to young to make the three day road trip...pretty sure we started that tradition the next year. I showed up on Saturday during lunch (which in those days was out at Tom's house) and most everyone was shocked to see me as the hurricane was still spinning in the Gulf of Mexico when I arrived. Luckily, Hurricane Danny was worse on Southern Alabama than South Mississippi and more of a rainmaker than a wind storm; my family didn't have any problems hanging out for a few days. (Although my wife did give me crap for a while about going...and I still reminder her that the Airline said I needed to fly or we were going to lose the money...at least the Red Roof Inn in Falconer didn't charge me for the night I missed!) Great Tales and Great Memories!

Congrats to Brett on winning the Cup! G-Con was a little abbreviated for me this year due to travel issues forcing me to cut out early. Wish I had been there to see the grand finale!
The high point is always the comraderie with the guys, JMello, Brett, Rob, Mike Fortune, Butcher, Jeff, Jack, Troy & Rayvin, the brothers Melesky, Smoke & Jauron, Todd, Chuck, Kevin W, Sam, and many others whom I have missed, and of course Tom and the discussion of the book.
Biggest highlight for me was definitely the Live Event! *Massacre (Sage Storm) was the first guy to show up and he went through his role in detail with Jeff. Very professional.
*The other young guys on the card made it a point to introduce themselves around to everyone in the building. It was a lot of fun to see the time and effort these young guys put forth into developing their skills.
*Doink was an idiot from the minute he walked in. While all the young guys introduced themselves respectfully, this guy walked up and said, "Hi. I'm Doink". His complete flop on the show came as no big surprise.
*Chuck Taylor CRUSHED it as Thantos! Star Warrior and Wolf were also awesome.
*Stevie Richards was fun to meet, and very engaging. All the young guys on the card were very attentive to his conversations.
*Brutus Beefcake was great to chat with. The poor guy can barely move in the ring, but still has the charisma and still put on a fun show.
*Rocky Reynolds was an awesome obnoxious heel. Stole the show in the Main Event.
*Best line of the night came from the Dark Menace himself, in response to the "Rocky Sucks" chants: "He does NOT suck. He wrote a book."
*Runner up for the best line of the night: Jim Steinhoff: "We need to put Marty Jannetty in a match against Greg Valentine. Loser has to stay in town."

Almost forget a great memory from Sunday. Probably a 'had to be there' moment but I still lol thinking about it:
Brett and I had just pulled into the Sheldon House and parked next to Troy, Lisa (Da Brat) and Wible (driving his nice SUV). They all start to get out and Da Brat steps out of the backseat with an extra large cup from McDonalds, holding it upside down and she says (in her thick British accent) "Kevin! The shake spilled all over the backseat of your car!" and Wible just stood there mouth agape and said "Whaaaaaaatt?" lol
It was cute. Poor Wible. Hopefully you were able to clean that out lol

She was just messing with him luckily. There was the red pop incident though....didn't hurt his car but wrecked our clothes...had to make an emergency Target run based on that.

Had a great time at Galacticon this year! It's been a while... my last one was 2007! Good to see a lot of familiar faces but also missed some of the ones I didn't get to see from years past. Thanks to everyone who took some time to B.S. with my brother and me! The Live Event was really cool to see... well... live. Todd and Jeff did an incredible job bringing our favorites to life and it was truly a once in a lifetime experience! Third place in trivia, no strikes entering the final round and being the only person to get the first question right wasn't too shabby Wish we could have stayed longer, but my sister-in-law was admitted to ICU and my wife needed my help with the kids so she could be there. All is well now though, she was released yesterday. Hope to make the trip again next year. If anyone is ever in the Pittsburgh area, give me a heads up and we can make some plans. Sent from my SCH-I535 using proboards

Was sad to see you have to leave soon but was great to meet you and your brother. If we go visit Mr. Wible in Pitt we'll holler at you as well.

This year was my 8th straight at Galacticon and I really can't express how great this community is in words. I see all these people once a year but it's as if we've never left and everything is right in the world for one weekend a year. My highlights for this year: -Sam paying me in all singles for his portion of our hotel room. I had fun spending those dollars a majority of the weekend. -Bringing signs to the CotG live event and sharing them with the two kids next to me. They really loved Wolf! -Meeting Brutus Beefcake and Stevie Richards (as an autograph hound I was really looking forward to this) -Going to Game Time after the event with Mike, Sam, Rob, and Brett (who knew Jamestown had a legit sports bar!) -Buying souveniers from the comic book store for my kids -Finding out Jamestown also has a mall (What?) -Being involved in running the tournaments again, I know it seems as if I'm miserable or scowling at times, but helping out made me feel a part of the community before I really was -Winning the Legends tournament with Rikidozan! -Winning the auction item I really wanted for $5 -Lasting longer than ever in the trivia -Visiting Jammers field and scoring a New Era hat for $15, plus a sweet Jammers hoodie, of couse after getting in for free because "I'm Canadian" thanks to Mike -Hanging out by the fire at Tom's for the last time, it's been a great tradition these past few years -Having a great rivalry with the girls at the Con(Wiggy and Alexandria) -Playing in the Canada Cup (always the best tournament) -Getting to compete for the Galacticup for the 2nd time ever
If you've never been you really need to go. I can't imagine better people to visit with all weekend and only wish that it could happen more often. Thanks to everyone who attended and I'm happy to call you all my friends.
