I'm very intrigued though the art seems a little cartoonish for a set like this. Werner's shading also seems to suffer a bit from the lack of color and simplified line work. I like the idea of the artwork though and am DEFINITELY looking forward to the set and finding out more about this really fun sounding promotion. Looking at their roster page makes me wish we were getting more than a 4 card set. At least this (hopefully) means we can look forward to more sets down the line.

I actually like the more cartoonish feel to this. Just looking at their webpage you can tell that this is more about fun than sports entertainment or rassling. Almost performance art, much like Kaiju Big Battel. Not saying they aren't athletes or the like. Looks like this would draw the same, hipster-ish, crowds as current day roller derby does. I understand that these are real guys but the art, to me, reflects the artsy aspect. And it's also great to see how amazingly well Werner draws in a different style. Two thumbs up.

I am super stoked for this already, as it will give me a Marion Fontaine card that I can team with Jervis Cottonbelly. Not to mention it opens up the possibility of Jock Samson getting a Filsinger card, and I have come to really like him from working on shows with him in the past.

I'd only be interested in this set because I'd want the Jeremy Madrox card when it gets released. Both Jeremy and Marion have made appearances in the Dayton, OH based Rockstar Pro Wrestling promotion. |
