Card 01 – Inception @ Oshawa Legion, Oshawa (September 13, 2014)

Mike Mondo v. Adam Cole (czw) w/Mia Yim
The Panama City Playboy is in full on heat seeking mode tonight as he makes his way to the ring against the popular No Fear Mike Mondo. Cole dominates this one from the outset. A Florida Key forces Mondo to the floor where Cole holds Mondo open for a Kick Me Goodnight from Yim. The referee calls for the disqualification. Mondo is your winner. Not a great start to the night. Dud

Mia Yim v. Sara Del Rey
Del Rey is out to a solid Queen of Wrestling chant and she dominates early on with power moves. Yim manages to kick out after a spike piledriver before getting the best of her opponent on the floor. Yim’s kicks give her the edge and lead to a SPINNING SEOUL KICK for a near fall. Del Rey is reeling and Yim goes for the submission with a scorpion deathlock (ch) but Del Rey battles to the ropes. Yim drags Del Rey back to the middle of the ring and cinches in another scorpion deathlock (ch) for the submission victory. A fun match with a surprize winner. ** ½

Willie Mack v. Tim Donst (LE)
Mack is wildly popular with the fans as he comes to the ring. Donst is up for the challenge tonight as he weathers an early attack by Mack including a wicked looking T-bone suplex and makes a strong comeback. Donst takes the fight to his opponent in and out of the ring. The offense leads up to a SDT and Donst gets the upset three count. *

Masada v. Necro Butcher
The fans braced for impact as they two combatants came to the ring. Forget about your headlocks and takeovers. Butcher controlled the early action in the ring as the fans waited for the battle to spill to the floor. It did and the fans were treated to plenty of crazy brawling. Butcher posts Masada busting him open and then sets up and executes CHOOSE DEATH for a huge pop. Masada gets the shoulder up and the fans know more violence is on the way. Masada post Butcher busting him open and then goes on the attack in the ring. RAINING BLOOD gets a two count and a MASADIMIZER gets another near fall. The fans get behind Butcher who brutalized Masada with a chair on the floor. Back in the ring, Masada comes back with a tombstone piledriver and then plants Butcher with a powerbomb for the three count. A wild match from start to finish.*** ½

Davey Richards v. Roderick Strong w/Truth Martini
The fans are still on fire from the last contest and the momentum carries through the introductions for this match. Strong looks good early on with a series of backbreakers and Death by Rodericks leading to the STRONG HOLD but Richards makes the ropes to keep the action going. Big comeback by the American Wolf and after kicked to death Strong wisely bails. Richards keeps the upper hand and the action returns to the floor where Truth Martini tosses Strong the book of truth and Strong decks Richards earning him a disqualification. The fans hate the finish but the action was intense up until Martini’s interference. ** ½

Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin) v. Incoherence (Frightmare & Hallowicked)
The fans are solidly behind the masked competitors as the action gets underway and they respond by getting the best of their opponents early on. Hallowicked is able to get the advantage against Haas and nearly gets the three count with a GRAVEYARD SMASH. Both teams are able to make tags but Frightmare proves difficult for Benjamin to handle and a FIGHT CRUSH almost ends it. Haas is finally able to turn things around against Hallowicked. Benjamin joins his partner first for a double team clothesline and later for a superkick into German suplex that sets up the HAAS OF PAIN. Hallowicked cannot counter and has to submit (cat’s eyes) while Benjamin prevents Frightmare from making the save. ** ½

Claudio Castagnoli (chik) v. Bryan Danielson (Chik)
The fans are on their feet for the American Dragon as he makes his way to ringside. Amazing back and forth action in this one from start to finish. Castagnoli is able to use his size to gain the early edge but Danielson soon negates the advantage taking the action to the mat. A crossface chicken wing nearly ends it but Castagnoli makes the ropes. There is great looking spot where Danielson avoids a running clothesline and counters with a Yakuza Kick. The action goes to the floor and both men trade blows. Danielson gets the upper hand and the action goes back to the floor again. This time, neither man will listen to the referee and the official decides to throw the match out calling for a double disqualification. With both men still exchanging blows, suddenly Tim Donst joins Castagnoli in the fight and they double up on Danielson. Willie Mack arrives to even the odds and the fans are on their feet. Sara Del Rey arrives a low blow stops Mack in this tracks. RICOLA BOMBS times two and Del Rey, Donst & Castagnoli stand over the fallen heroes. All three show sign of the cross to tell the fans that the Bruderschaft des Kreuzes have arrived in Pro Wrestling Ontario. ***

Card 02 – September to Remember @ Knights of Columbus Hall, Niagara Falls (September 20, 2014)

Michael Elgin (ROH) v. Steve Corino
Elgin gets a huge ovation from his hometown fans. Corino, much to the displeasure of ringside dominates this one early on. Elgin kicks out after an OLD SCHOOL LARIAT and Corino goes to work on Elgin at ringside. Corino cracks Elgin across the back with chair shot and the referee lets it go drawing huge heat. Corino keeps up the attack. Back at ringside again, he arms himself with a chair for the second time but Elgin wrestles it away and clocks Corino with it. The bell sounds and the referee has disqualified Elgin! The fans are livid and Corino wisely escapes ringside with Elgin in pursuit. *

Incoherence (Frightmare & Hallowicked) v. Los Banditos (Tito Escondido & Rico Dynamite)
The masked junior heavyweights have the fans behind them during this closely contested match. The momentum swung back and forth multiple times during the bout until Frightmare was able to catch Escondido with a Frightensteiner followed with a deathjump crossbody block for a two count. Frightmare then uses a crucifix bomb to set up a Super Frankensteiner for the three count while Hallowicked prevents Dynamite from making the save. Fast paced bout that the fans enjoyed from start to finish **

Mike Mondo v. Adam Cole (czw) w/Mia Yim
Last week Mondo picked up a win over Cole after the ill-timed interference of Yim resulted in a disqualification. Mondo gets the fans attention coming out of the corner with a wicked clothesline but the advantage is short lived as Cole counters a charge to the corner moments later with a clothesline of his own. Both men are stunned but it is Cole is quicker to his feet and crushes Mondo with Coleateral for the three count. Yim joins Cole in a two on one beat down on Mondo that ends a skytwister press from Yim. Cole and Yim leave the ring to huge heat. After Mondo gets to his feet, he asks for the mic and challenges Yim and Cole to a handicapped match! Dud

Masada v. Necro Butcher
In the minds of a lot of the fans in attendance, these two stole the show at Inception and promoters have brought them back for more. Unfortunately, the officiating was not as lax this time around resulting in a short match. Masada opened with some forearm clubbed but Butcher took the advantage with a clothesline out of the corner. Butcher lead the action to ringside and attacked Masada with chair shot earning a disqualification. The fans were not pleased with the quick call but both men proceeded to brawl throughout the crowd for several more minutes given the fans a close up glimpse of the action. The issue between these two is far from finished. Dud

Roderick Strong w/Truth Martini v. Davey Richards
There was high expectations put on this match and it did not disappoint. Martini worked the fans for heat on the floor while Strong and Richards put on a clinic in the ring with exchange of strikes and counters that went back and forth. Richards nailed Strong with an Alarm Clock twice but could not get Strong’s shoulders the mat. Strong was able to survive an ANKLE LOCK and then came back with a Death by Roderick. Strong was in control and nailed Richards with back to back Gibson Drivers as the time limit expired. Strong was not pleased and the fans chanted for five more minutes but it was not to be. The differences between these two would have to be settled at a later date. *** ½

The Dynasty (Joey Ryan & Scorpio Sky) v. Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin)
The fans were spilt during the introductions of the competitors. A real solid match between these two teams. Haas gets cut off from his corner early on and the Dynasty work him over. Ryan connects with a spinebuster for a near fall and then hits a WALK OFF but Haas is able to kick out of the cover. Benjamin leads his team back when he is able to get the upper hand on Sky. There is a great counter where Benjamin avoids Sky’s dropkicks and nails him with a superkick. Benjamin nails back to back PAYDIRTS on Sky but cannot get the three count. From the point the action is very even with both teams making frequent tags. The finishing sequence comes when Benjamin dives onto Sky at ringside. The two end up battling on the ring apron with the referee counting both men. Sky backdrops Benjamin who lands in the ring just as the referee finishes the ten count resulting in Sky being counted out of the ring. ** ½

Willie Mack & Brian Danielson (chik) v. Claudio Castagnoli (chik) & Tim Donst (LE) w/Sara Del Rey
Mack & Danielson are out to huge ovation from the fans. Mack and Castagnoli trade power moves at the outset and the fans eat it up. Castagnoli scores with a gut wrench German Suplex for a two count before Mack comes back with a running clothesline followed by a CHOCOLATE THUNDER BOMB that nearly ended it. Castagnoli is in trouble and Mack keeps on him with another running clothesline. Danielson tags into the action to a huge pop and sends Castagnoli into the ropes. On the rebound, both men go for a clothesline and collide in the middle of the ring. Danielson is up first and locks in a TRIANGLE CHOKE. Castagnoli has no counter and quickly taps out. Donst and Del Rey are clearly caught off guard by the sudden submission and make no effort to save Castagnoli. Huge win for the team of Mack & Danielson and particularly the American Dragon who gets Castagnoli to tap. * ½

I really liked the main event on Card 2 and Mack & Danielson make for a fun team. Despite the two duds in a row the card rounded out pretty nicely in the end.

First two cards were great.

IMO any match with MASADA or Necro should be no DQ. LOL.
