Reading the review it almost sounds like they were purposefully trying to make Jay Briscoe look weak. I mean come on: Elgin and Hanson both get a visual pin, Ciampa gets two of them and Hanson knocked Briscoe out. With booking like that I wonder why they bothered keeping the title on Briscoe in the first place. The fluke victory plus not actually defending his title for the month of February makes him look like a paper champion. Did the booker forget that Briscoe is supposed to be the face champion? some people sitting in my area at the show last night also did not like the finish to the main event but for me personally, although it wasn't my favorite finish of all time, I really didn't mind it. Jay Briscoe got a fluke/lucky win in Las Vegas and, while this town was obviously not built on the back of winners, people get lucky in how they win here every single day. Looking forward to seeing how ROH moves forward toward Supercard of Honor (which I am also going to) later this month. That's fine and all, but Jay Briscoe is supposed to be the guy representing the company and while I'm not fond of the guy, your champion really should look strong coming out off a successful title defense and Briscoe doesn't really in my opinion.

I didn't actually see the show but the idea that a champ can't be shown as weak isn't necessarily a good one. Maybe that is the direction his title reign might go. Maybe he continually wins by the skin of his teeth. Or maybe ROH won't do anything with it and will move on. Either way, it shouldn't always have to be a decisive win.

While that is true, Jay Briscoe is ostensibly a face champion and thus meant to be cheered for. You shouldn't be making your face champion look weak by making it look as though he only has the championship due to dumb luck and rarely defending the title.

I love ROH, but realistically, I can't see anyone on the current roster besides Jay Briscoe or maybe Michael Elgin as champion. Perhaps Jay Lethal? They definitely gave the impression that Samoa Joe could be on the mix, but I read today he could be WWE bound. Don't think they would put the gold on a part-timer like AJ or Alberto either, though I would love to see it.

I could see the belt going to Elgin or Ciampa to be honest. Hanson's not ready yet, though KOing Briscoe at the end of the title match definitely makes him look like a threat. If Samoa Joe stays in Ring of Honor then he's definitely in line for a second title reign as is Adam Cole.
If Jay Lethal drops the TV Title I could see him making a run at the World Title.

Before the show on Sunday night, I briefly met and got my picture taken with Alberto El Patron. Thanks to aceldamas here for taking this picture.

I didn't include Cole due to his being on the shelf with an injury, but yes, I would love to see him come back and once again feud with Briscoe over the title.

I had a great time at the show. It was good to meet Vegas. He's a really nice guy and it was cool hanging out and talking LOW and wrestling in general.
During the entire weekend The Orleans was an autograph hunter's paradise. There were wrestlers all over the place! My highlight was meeting my main-man Steve Corino. Super nice guy.
As far as the show went, it was a good card overall despite some weirdness in the main event. To address the Jay Briscoe looking weak - ROH themselves echoed Vegas' thoughts above by saying Jay got by with a little luck, indicating they were playing off the Las Vegas theme.
I really don't see anyone else right now who would stand out as a baby face champion. Jay's over with the crowd more than most anyone else except the 'guests' like Alberto, AJ, Joe, etc. Jay Lethal is filling the heel champion spot with only Adam Cole being on his level in that role. I wondered if Jay might lose that night but I couldn't see any of the other three going over.
