Due to recent storylines, Chikara will not be receiving any of my money in the foreseeable future.

Be sure I'm not trolling I'm just looking for a good discussion. But why were people upset with the shut down angle? I've heard lots of people say things but none of them have made sense to me.

A man deliberately shuts down his business for no good reason and you ask why people were upset? Not even Vince Russo came up with a storyline that shutdown the promotion he worked for. It was just a moronic idea that didn't make anybody any money.

However, that is where it ends. Call Quack's decision art, a work, whatever. The fact is he didn't have one show for roughly an entire year, did not make a penny, and was foolish enough to think people would come running back to him with open arms. Hey Dixie, there is a promoter with fewer brain cells than you--its Mike Quackenbush! Eagerly awaiting the attack from the Chikarmy, I mean cult.

The shutdown angle made me lose all interest not just in Chikara, but in my vast collection of Chikara cards as well. That being said, it did make for a great movie. However, last time I checked, Quack was supposed to be a promoter, not a director

Be sure I'm not trolling I'm just looking for a good discussion. But why were people upset with the shut down angle? I've heard lots of people say things but none of them have made sense to me. How about the fact that some of the wrestlers may have turned down bookings with other promoters out of a sense of loyalty, only to find out Quack was going to shut down the promotion as an "angle"? We've all heard the rumors about what may have led to the shutdown, and if there's a shred of truth to them, I commend Quack for getting his personal life in order. BUT, he could have just as easily removed himself from Chikara and let someone else run it during that time as opposed to shutting it down and basically taking food out of people's mouths. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but that's just my take. With all that being said, I wish him nothing but the best and hope Chikara goes on forever. I don't hold a grudge, but I also don't personally care for the current storyline, either.

When Chikara shut down it was the hottest it had ever been. Since they came back they certainly lost a lot of luster. I still follow the product, but Im not as gungho as before, and it seems many involved aren't either.
That being said I will probably go to the iPPV in Philly.
