Just started watching from the beginning of season one... After realizing what if been missing in ROH for so long, I decided I should branch out and catch up on as many independent feds as I can... First episode was excellent... The main event between Johnny Mundo and Prince Puma (Ricochet, right?) took my breath away... Reminded me of all the things I used to love about wrestling... Gonna be fun progressing through the season! Its a fun ride and just keeps getting better.

So, I realize I'm late to the party, but I am on board now. The stuff with El Patron and Mundo is great, as is the build to Puma vs. Mil Muertes. I have to say that the only things I don't particularly care for are Sexy Star and the Pentagon Jr./Vampiro stuff.

I think my favorite storylines of the season so far have been: - Mil Muertes vs. Fenix feud culminating in Grave Consequences - Trios Tournament, especially the Finals and the Ladder Rematch - Aztec Warfare Qualifiers and Match - El Patron vs. Mundo feud - Pretty much everything about Drago

So....who watched Ultima Lucha last night? What did everyone think?
I loved it, which should come as no surprise. Probably my favorite show all year, and that is saying something since it has been a fantastic run.
The match of the night was Pentagon Jr vs. Vampiro, with a twist I didn't see coming...but damn makes a ton of sense.
The main event was fantastic as well. Lots of innovation and sets up some compelling storylines for next season (if and when that happens), especially given the result of the Gift of the Gods match.
The ending after the credits was great too.
If you haven't watched the show, do yourself a favor and watch the 3 hours of Ultima Lucha. Wrestling storytelling done the best way possible.

I watch most of it between numerous replays and around other things I was watching. This was my first time watching on El Ray so it was great being able to understand what was being said lol. Had seen a few shows so knew a bit about the Pentagon Jr/Vampiro feud and was surprised by the reveal. Good stuff there. I am glad to see something like this doing well. That is a wrestling program that does not have to have a firm hold on reality. I have not seen any CHIKARA but know about it and reminds me some of those guys. The only "issue" I had was at the end when Son of Havoc was talking to Angelico. The whole bit from his words to Angelico just nodding felt like a scene from a video game. Maybe that is what they were going for so it is why I really don't have a problem with it. Just saying it felt...weird, I guess.
Question for a newbie, what is up with the Jeepers Creeper guy at the end? Who is he and is he heel or face?

The one that was talking with Aero Star at the end, then opened his wings, walked out and flew away leaving behind an explosion of flames. Also is it possible that the Moth Guys "sister" is going to be Sexy Star? Either she has a split personality or is possessed. Just the way she was laughing at the end makes me think so. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info. That was Drago. He is part dragon. He is a face. He fought Hernandez in Part 1 of Ultima Lucha. I didn't hear Sexy Star laughing, though it was just Marty the Moth. Funny thing I just heard today, Marty the Moth was the contestant Martin that was on the Stone Cold Tough Enough. He was good but got injured. Ivelise also got injured that season, which is funny given the role she had in Lucha Underground. Matt Cross is the 3rd from that Tough Enough season. The reason so many of them are on the show is the producer of that Tough Enough also produced Lucha Underground.

Yea he looked like a heel but since he was talking to Aero I figured he was a face. I missed some of part one including his match. Maybe I am mistaken but wasn't that Sexy Star he had tied up? I thought it was and she started looking mad/angry but then it seemed to me she was doing a crazy kind of laugh at the end. That is pro wrestling for you. It is all about connections lol. I sure hope they replay season one over next few months so I can catch up. Sadly El Rey does not have anything On Demand. Even Destination America has some Impact on their On Demand. Either way based on some of the movies they will be showing I am gonna watch me some El Rey.

I don't have El rey on my cable. Been watching the whole season on Youtube and later on Sling TV. They have on demand but its only 3 weeks worth.
