Ring of Honor Canada – (HDNet TV Tapings S02 #01) from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Jim Cornette makes it known that he will not put up with the antics of S.C.U.M (Kevin Steen, Jimmy Jacobs & Steve Corino) again after their blatant disregard for the Code of Honor and of the authority found within the R.O.H. organization. He therefore makes it known that even though he cannot take away their rematch at the Revenge on S.C.U.M iPPV. He can make them fight tonight and hopefully these "somebodies" will knock them out of the running and take the wind out of their sails. Jimmy Jacobs & Steve Corino enter the ring and begin to threaten Jim Cornette and wonder if he would like to return to a familiar bed he occupied not too long ago after they were done with him the last time. Cornette retorted that since he now has full authority and can make any snap decisions he wants within reason. He asks Corino and Jacobs to turn around as there are a couple "old friends of his" that might take offense to them laying their hands on him. Standing behind them are Jim Cornette's own legendary team of The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & Dennis Condrey)!

1. TAG TEAM MATCH: Midnight Express defeat S.C.U.M
- Bobby Eaton gets the pinfall over Jimmy Jacobs with the ROCKET LAUNCHER.
- After the match Jim Cornette makes it abundantly clear that S.C.U.M will never put their hands on him again. And makes it known that if anyone else dares to put their hands on him, Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey WILL take offense to that.
- Jacobs and Corino vow this is not over.

2. MATCH: Juan Francisco De Coronado defeated Delirious (Red Poison) by disqualification after Delirious attacked Coronado outside the ring with a steel chair.

"Wrestling's Worst Nightmare" and ROH World Heavyweight Champion: Kevin Steen is backstage with Matt Striker. Tonight Jim Cornette has let Steen pick "The Forgotten Legend" Jerry Lynn's opponent. As Lynn will be allowed to do on next week's program. Steen chuckles as he in no uncertain terms assures the fans of ROH that Jerry Lynn and the rest of the world won't believe their eyes when they see who is about to step into a ROH ring again. It will shock and quite possibly mortify some. He wishes Lynn all the luck in the world as the plot thickens just a bit. Steen says he looks forward to his opponent next week. That is, if Lynn will be mobile after the beating he will take later tonight.

3. MATCH: Shane Hollister defeats Homicide by disqualification due to numerous warnings by the referee went unanswered.

Backstage Jim Cornette speaks with Matt Striker on the ROH Invitational Tag-Team Tournament that has been put in place. He explains how he was approached by the current ROH Tag Team Champions: The Briscoe Brothers and how they wanted to issue a challenge to the any team from anywhere to earn a shot at their titles. So the challenge was laid and it was a first come, first serve list. 20 teams will compete for a chance to dance with champions and attempt to take their belts. Those teams unsigned to ROH will of course have to go through all the legal channels upon winning their opportunity but this tournament will be exciting for fans as they have no idea what ROH has in store for them. Matt Striker and Cornette are interrupted by Truth Martini (leader of the House of Truth) and Roderick Strong. Strong asks when he will get his title shot that he has yet to received as a past champion and the FIRST ever ROH champion. Cornette with much hesitation states that he will get his shot after the Revenge on S.C.U.M iPPV title match between Kevin Steen (c) & Jerry Lynn. With that Cornette leaves as he is tired of dealing or listening to Strong or Martini.

As Jerry Lynn awaits his opponent in the ring, Kevin Steen appears on the rampway and begins to heckle and verbally assault Lynn. He tells Lynn to look into the camera and say hello to your opponent. Lynn looks at the camera man in the ring and then turns away as his focus goes back to Steen. Steen decides to give Lynn a hint on who he is facing. As the words "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived" left his lips, the camera man behind Lynn drives the camera he is holding into the back of Lynn's skull. The match is underway as standing overtop of Lynn is none other than Austin Aries!

4. MAIN EVENT: Austin Aries defeats Jerry Lynn.
-Upon Jerry Lynn regaining his composure, an exciting back and forth wrestling match took place.
- Aries would finally take the match after successfully hitting his BRAINBUSTER to take the victory.
- Austin Aries stood over a bested Jerry Lynn once more and bathed in the mixture of deafening cheers and jeers as a result of his return.

And that's a wrap!

Ring of Honor Canada – (HDNet TV Tapings S02 #02) from Cornwall Civic Complex in Cornwall, Ontario: RoH Commissioner Jim Cornette started the night off by announcing the beginning of the Briscoe Brothers Invitational Tag Team Tournament that would bring forth the best of the best from within ROH and from outside ROH. The winning team will receive the highest honour of being the team that faces the ROH Tag Team Champions for a chance at possibly becoming new tag team champions. Cornette is excited to get the show underway and leaves the ring for the first bout to start.

BRISCOES INVITATIONAL TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT MATCH: C+C Wrestle Factory are defeated by The Osirian Portal by pinfall. -Epic tag team match that saw a plethora of near falls and high spot wrestling action. Ultimately Ophidian would catch Caprice Coleman in an Egyptian Destroyer (front flip piledriver). Ophidian and Amasis move on in the tournament.

BRISCOES INVITATIONAL TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT MATCH: The World's Greatest Tag Team demolish Adrenaline RUSH and take the win by pinfall. - Wow! If you blinked you would miss it as Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin made short work of "TD" Thomas. His partner ACH looks disappointed as he not once stepped off the apron. As Haas and Benjamin enjoyed their quick victory. "TD" Thomas looked frustrated and angry. The World's Greatest Tag Team move on in the tournament.

BACKSTAGE: Veda Scott catches ROH World Champion: Kevin Steen as he leaves the S.C.U.M. dressing room to make his way to the ring. She asks if he is worried about who his mystery opponent is that "The Forgotten Legend" Jerry Lynn has chosen for him? Steen seems unwavered as to who it might be and smirks as he comments on how Jerry Lynn isn't here tonight because he has been reported as suffering a mild concussion at the hands of the shocking return of "A Double" himself Austin Aries. Steen looks into the camera and makes it known to his mystery opponent that he doesn't care who or what he is. Kevin Steen is set to destroy them just as he has and will destroy Jerry Lynn at the Revenge on S.C.U.M. iPPV in two weeks! With that Steen heads to the ring.

MYSTERY OPPONENT MATCH: "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson defeats Kevin Steen by disqualification.
- The return of ROH Legend Bryan Danielson blew the roof off of the Cornwall Civic Complex. Kevin Steen was visibly rattled by this and the match was what was to be expect. A iPPV quality match that could easily be considered a Match of the Year! Bryan Danielson would end up dominating the last moments of the match until it once again went to the outside. Steen quickly resorted to slamming a chair into the face of Danielson as he attempted a suicide dive through the ropes to the outside.

-Steen continues his attack on Danielson when Jerry Lynn runs through the crowd and into the ringside area. He gives chase to Steen into the ring. Bryan Danielson recovers and joins Lynn in a double team on Steen with a double slingshot off the ropes and double team. Steen grabs his neck and head and rolls out of the ring as Lynn and Danielson celebrate in the ring.

MAIN EVENT ROH TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Jay Lethal (c) bested "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin to retain his TV Title.
-A fantastic match that saw several close calls of Michael Elgin finally taking the title. However due to a distraction by Truth Martini, Jay Lethal was able to hit his LETHAL INJECTION finisher for the victory and retain his title. The House of Truth still stands with TV gold in its grasp. Micheal Elgin looks shocked and crest fallen. He makes his way to the back where Matt Striker asks him what he is thinking right now?

-Elgin says with a heavy heart that last season he was so close at taking the TV title from Lethal and The House of Truth and ever since it has been an uphill battle. Elgin states that he is taking a leave of absence from ROH to reassess, recondition and get his mindset back on track. This won't be the last they see of "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin. He will be back but more focussed. Right now all he needs is time.

I have to say that the dice were in my favour to make this card awesome. Hopefully it stays like that. I think the Tag Team Tourney helps with the ratings system. With only two more shows before the end of the month iPPV I have to bring the rest of the supercard together. Have a couple other surprises coming on the next show I book. Next time I get a chance I will do another ROH Newswire to set up more of the story/drama happening.

ROH NEWSWIRE S02E02

- Alot has already happened in only a couple episodes before the first big pay-per-view of Season 02 of ROH-Canada! ROH Commissioner Jim Cornette has named the iPPV "Revenge on S.C.U.M." in the hopes that it will come to fruition and see the year long heavyweight title reign of Kevin Steen end and see "The Forgotten Legend" Jerry Lynn bring "honour" back to ROH-Canada since the Code of Honor has been broken and tossed aside by the members of S.C.U.M. and other members of the locker room have followed suit. Hopefully with a win by Jerry Lynn the Code will be restored. But it could all backfire and a hopeful vengeance could just be the vengeance of S.C.U.M. coming down even harder on ROH and on Jim Cornette to make this year his most unbearable. We are sure to find out soon enough.

-"Unbreakable" Michael Elgin has left ROH for the season to regroup and refocus himself given his string of losses that started mid way through season 01 and have crept into the beginnings of season 02. Elgin has been unable to be reached by anyone from ROH since he was given his leave. While he is still under contract, those in the upper echelon of the company are giving him his time and hoping to see some sort of return on this favour moving forward. One can only wonder just how different Michael Elgin will be and those in the House of Truth will be most interested in this development. As we know that Elgin will be setting his sights on the ROH TV champion: Jay Lethal. Truth Martini has assured everyone that Elgin's training will do nothing and he will once again see defeat at the hands of the greatest TV champion of all time and that man is Jay Lethal.

-ROH Tag Team Champions: The Briscoe Brothers are enjoying the first couple of matches that have taken place in this Invitational Tag Team Tournament they have created. They cannot wait to see what other competitors show up and what the final results will be. You can bet that whomever makes it through to the finals and become the winners, that the Briscoes will not go into that bout underestimating their opponents. At the moment however, they are set to face S.C.U.M members Steve Corino and Jimmy Jacobs. The Briscoes have been very dominant since they took the belts early on in Season 01 and have been unstoppable since. Can "Dem boys" hold the titles for another full year or will S.C.U.M. topple this coming iPPV? Or will it be the winner of the tournament? Either way it is a very exciting time for tag team wrestling in ROH-Canada!

-Bryan Danielson has requested a Proving Ground match against ROH Champion: Kevin Steen. His request is yet to be accepted by ROH brass but there is a good chance that it will come shortly if not somewhat after the iPPV if Jerry Lynn doesn't secure a win. Jerry Lynn has one more shot at the title and then it is back to the bottom of the pecking order to work his way back into top contention again. The returning "American Dragon" could be just what ROH-Canada needs right now. Let's hope that Proving Ground match is granted sooner than later.

-ROH Commissioner Jim Cornette has been worried about S.C.U.M finding a way in which to see victory at the iPPV. So it is rumoured he has brought in a special "Main Event Enforcer" to ensure the match is fair and a definite victor is crowned. Who this enforcer is would be anyones guess. I am sure with only two shows to go before the big card that Cornette will let us know asap!

Ring of Honor Canada – (HDNet TV Tapings S02 #03) From the Varsity Arena in Toronto, Ontario comes this episode of Ring of Honor Canada. The camera's cut to the back as ROH Commissioner Jim Cornette, along with his tag team The Midnight Express are approached by Matt Striker and asked how he is going to keep the main event at the Revenge on S.C.U.M iPPV fair and down the middle? Cornette tells Matt Striker that he has something or someone that will make all the difference and "that someone" will be the ringside enforcer to ensure there is no outside interference and that the shenanigans are kept to a minimum. All would be revealed later this evening. With that Striker sends it back to Kevin Kelly & Tony Schiavone at ringside.

INVITATIONAL TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT MATCH: 3.0 defeat The Bravado Brothers by pinfall.
- This was a straight forward, no nonsense bout that saw a focussed 3.0 take the victory as Scott "Jagged" Parker hits the 3.0 LUNG BLOWER on Harlem Bravado and that moves them on in the tournament.

INVITATIONAL TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT MATCH: Forever Hooligans defeat 2 Cold Scorpio & Marty Jannetty by pinfall.
-Fantastic tag team match that pit young blood against legendary veterans. It could have gone either way but Rocky Romero would hit CONTRACT KILLER on 2 Cold Scorpio for the victory. This would move the Forever Hooligans on in the tournament. The fans really got behind Scorpio & Jannetty and it looks as though they might stick around a little longer even if they are now out of the tournament.

BACKSTAGE:
- Veda Scott gets word that ROH World Heavyweight Champion Kevin Steen will not be here this evening due to an apparent neck injury at the hands of Danielson and Lynn on last weeks episode. Veda says she will have more info when it comes and if she can talk to other members of S.C.U.M as she waits outside their locker room.

- ROH Commissioner Jim Cornette sits in his office as The Midnight Express relax on the couch when a knock comes at the door. Before Cornette can say "come in" in busts Truth Martini and ROH TV Champion: Jay Lethal. Truth is livid that Lethal has to face Super Crazy tonight given that Super Crazy isn't even a top talent "in their eyes". Cornette tells Truth that he and the rest of the Board of Directors went through the numbers and since Super Crazy showed up in the company near the tail end of Season 01 he has been consistant in his matches and with solid victories up to this point has been given the opportunity to face Jay Lethal for his TV title. This is happening now and tells them to get out of his office and head to the ring. Truth Martini says Cornette won't get away with this and that he won't be able to handle the House of Truth AND S.C.U.M. if this ends badly for Jay Lethal.

ROH TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE MATCH: Super Crazy defeats Jay Lethal (c) by pinfall to become the NEW ROH TV CHAMPION!
- This was THE match of the night! After a back and forth "edge of your seat" bout. Super Crazy hit his TRIPLE MOONSAULT to pin Jay Lethal and become the new ROH Television Champion! Truth Martini was beside himself as Jay Lethal looked stunned! Super Crazy attempted to shake the hand of Lethal who slapped it away and vowed this wasn't over!

BACKSTAGE:
-Veda Scott is notified by Steve Corino and Jimmy Jacobs that due to the heinous and diabolical actions of Lynn and Danielson. Their fearless leader and ROH World Heavyweight Champion will NOT be participating in the main event and therefore has appointed Austin Aries as his replacement. The three head to the ring.

MAIN EVENT: SIX MAN TAG MATCH: S.C.U.M & Austin Aries defeated The Briscoes & Jerry Lynn by pinfall.
-The match was picking up a lot of heat and emotions were running high between the two teams when late in the match Jimmy Jacobs would hit a low blow on Jerry Lynn to secure the win. This outcome caused a six man brawl with S.C.U.M and Aries getting the advantage and laying a beating on The Briscoes and Jerry Lynn. Suddenly the sounds of a metal version of "Pomp and Circumstance" fills the arena! Rushing to the ring, chair in hand is none other than the Legendary "Macho Man" Randy Savage! He chases off S.C.U.M and Austin Aries as the show closes with Savage being named as the "Special Ringside Enforcer". OOOOH YEAH!!!


The "Special Ringside Enforcer" is revealed!

CPB's Notes: This was a really fun card to run! Bringing Savage in will be interesting to see how his presence will unfold and how long I keep him around. Dice were rolling hot and the show did a total "TV rating of 6.0". Some great things happened on this card and sets up for one more show before the first PPV of the Season. Episode 04 should be interesting and seeing where the dice lead me next. The Television Title match was fantastic and could have gone either way. I honestly thought Lethal was keeping the belt since he has been so strong in defending it.

Super Crazy take the victory was not expected so it will be interesting to see if Lethal gets the belt back at the PPV or if Super Crazy will hold the title a little longer. I worry the dice won't be kind and he might end up a transitional champion. I like lengthy title runs that establish my champions and then it means something when they lose to the next chosen in line. This match was a "nail biter" a few times.
