After having just recently starting my LOW fed up again and losing momentum I thought about just giving up on playing the game in any organised way. The only idea I had been toying with is a wrestling league. I haven't given up my Legends fed but in the meantime I came up with this idependent wrestling organization run by Rikidozan who was offering a bounty from collective gate income to be shared out so that the winner takes the most with each lower placed wrestler taking progressively less.
At the moment the wrestlers who signed up are those I see as 'independent' wrestlers who fight and think for themselves and who have a style which suits more traditional wrestling.
The storyline continues with Bob Orton Sr. taking up the offer along with Ilio Di Paolo and Cowboy Hutton. It's just pure wrestling, each contest is decided definatively so there are no DQ's so if a wrestler has a manager who tries to interfere but gets caught he gets sent to the locker room. It obviously sets the tone for a more hardcore style match. Right now though there are no managers as this league is in it's infancy.
Also the contests are decided over the best of 3 falls, each wrestler will face each other 3 times over the whole wrestling season. Should the 2 top wrestlers tie with the same amount of points, I'm thinking of either a play off or going for the greatest fall difference over the entire season.
There are still some problems, if this idea catches on the next twist will be more recognized wrestlers entering and a larger league with the possibilty of minor leagues so some wrestlers can get promoted and demoted. The downside is that it might turn a bit sterile as there isn't the same scope for creativity of fueds angles etc. However setting up cards will be a sinch and memorable match ups can be avenged on return bouts. I also think another problem will be entering certain wrestlers. On the one hand you have wrestlers who fit a kind of independent role so they think and fight for themselves, those who are hardcore and will take on anybody but I just can't see certain faces facing off against each other or the more gimmecky wrestlers fitting in too well.
Oh well, I hope I haven't bored anyone. Please let me know of what you think or any feedback.
