As I prepare to write Future Shock 2131...

I've been reading a lot of comics books lately. There's only so much time I can wander in the desert searching in vain for Lance At-Las...(maybe wrong planet).

A lot of my favorite comic books have sci-fi themes and multiverse plots in the same vein as Future Shock. The "nothing-is-too-out-there" approach appeals to me, the possibilities are endless.

For those of you that are fans of comic books I've posted a new blog with my ten favorites of the month. The list includes 5 different companies (I love indie comic book companies as much as indie wrestling promotions).

Great post. Was shocked to not see All New Xmen on the list. I heard an interview with Bendis about it and picked up the trades digitally and have been loving it.

Truly stoked for Future Shock 2131... And I enjoy seeing what you read, as I'm sure it lends inspiration to your own work... I'm trying to work through a serious backlog of comics - Just finished reading Y - The Last Man series...

What I was wondering... What are your favorite fiction novels? And who are your favorite authors? I would have a difficult time choosing my own top 5, I think... But, Neil Gaiman definitely tops the list (both with his comics and novels).

I read mainly nonfiction so I don't have a lot of perspective on different authors. Having said that my favorite fiction writer is Milan Kundera. I've read all his novels and I recommend him for the discerning reader.

Hmmm Tom I didn't figure you for the Independent comic type.I need to read more Indy comic stuff outside of Marvel and DC from what I heard Valient has some great stuff as well as Image.
