Before we get to the tournament action, lets to a look back at the previous tournaments.
Tournament V.1 took place in 2011. Bobo Brazil battled his way through the field to defeat Killer Kowalski in the finals with a snake eyes roll. In the next year, top seed Andre the Giant went the distance to the finals but came up short against Nick Bockwinkel who took the tournament with a figure four leglock and a snake eyes roll. In 2013, no top ten seeds made the finals and Road Warrior Hawk bested Greg Valentine to claim the tournament victory. It was another snake eyes finish. Last, year, Antonio Inoki overcame his mentor Rikidozan to win the tournament. Will this finally be the year of the Giant? Will someone come out of nowhere to claim the tournament victory? Only the dice will tell the tale. One more twist this year. I have decided that the first round losers this year will not be invited back for next year’s tournament. The first round upsets this year will have even a bigger impact [it was back in 2011 that Tiger Mask sent Bockwinkel home in the opening round!]
As always, comments and predictions are welcome. Please check with your local authorities prior to any wagering.
I hope everyone enjoys the action.
Up first, Andre the Giant (1) v. Dan Spivey (64)

Great to see the 64-Man Legends Tournament return and I liked the rundown of past events plus the new rule. I am picking Andre over Spivey in the first match.

Thank you to everyone for the comments and the likes. Here we go...
Andre The Giant (1) v. Dan Spivey (64)
Despite being a consistent top seed The Giant has yet to win this tournament. We get all the classic Andre spots in the early action including slams, bear hugs and corner squashes with a couple of dropkicks thrown in for good measure but Spivey weathers the storm and comes back with a series of clotheslines. Andre gets the best of a brawl on the floor before scoring the first near fall with a head butt (R7/P3). A sitdown splash takes a toll on Spivey and Andre further weakens him with a body scissors and lift. Andre’s size just proves too much for Spivey as a turnbuckle squash crumples Spivey to the mat where Andre covers for three (R4/P4).
Up next… Ed “Strangler” Lewis (32) v. Mr. Saito (33) w/Captain Lou Albano
No real surprize in the opening match. Spivey did have a nice run midway though the match but in the end had no answer for the Giant on this night.

Kamala thank you for the feedback. Andre has had some bad luck with the dice in past tournaments including snake eyes losses in back to back years. Ed Lewis (32) v. Mr. Saito (33) w/Captain Lou Albano Albano gets on the case of Gary Michael Cappetta and it looks like Cappetta may take a beating but Lewis steps in and the action gets a quick start. Lewis gets Saito to the mat with a jackknife arm scissors and then moves to a STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK but Saito is not ready to give up (R6/P3). A second STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK does not get the win (R10/P4). They brawl on the floor with Lewis maintaining the advantage before applying a third STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK slowing the action down but not getting the win (R7/P4). A fourth STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK forces Saito to the ropes (R7/P5) and then the action goes back to the floor again where Lewis punishes Saito with a series of forearms. Back in the ring Lewis scores with back to back spinning neckbreakers (ch) and then clamps on another STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK. Albano attempts to distract the referee but that does not work so he jumps into the action only to be taken out by Lewis with a foot sweep. Lewis then hooks Saito’s leg for the pin 1, 2, kick out (R7/P6). The fans pop thinking the match was over. Lewis goes back to work including a full nelson before the match spills to the floor once again. Albano becomes involved once again and joins Saito to a double team attack at ringside. The fans are livid but the referee is well aware of what was happening and disqualifies Saito. Lewis comes back and ends the action trapping Albano in a STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK much to the delight of the fans. Up Next.... Terry Gordy (17) v. Rick Rude (48) w/Jimmy Hart

Happy to see Andre advance. As much as I have rolled snake eyes so far he has avoided that in my fed. I don't know how I will feel when he finally loses for me. Lewis over Saito was solid and I liked Captain Lou getting put in the Strangler's Headlock. Gordy vs. Rude should be awesome. Tournament is off to a great start.

Aw well, better luck again in two years Spivey. Good to see the Strangler move on. I'm up in the air for the match. I'd like to see Gordy advance but then I like Rude also. Good matches so far.
