Good match with Steve Willams and Ted DiBiase. I thought Williams might have pulled it off. Next match will be good. I have to go for the Hot Rod in this one.

Very surprised with how easily DiBiase seemed to dispose of Dr. Death... Going with the masses on the next one... Hot Rod for the win!

Thanks again for the predictions and feedback. Hot Rod seems to be the favorite heading into the next match . . .
Roddy Piper (7) v. Greg Valentine (58)w/Captain Lou Albano
So much blood has been spilled between these two over the years that their feud has become the stuff of legend. It is all Valentine early on and the fans are all over him and the Captain. Piper comes back starting his offense with an eye poke that the fans love. The fight goes to the floor and things get ugly when Valentine nails Piper with a chair shot to the leg. Back in the ring, Valentine mounts the corner for a very sloppy cross body block deathjump that actually gets some laughs from ringside. Piper kicks out of the cover immediately (R9/P2). It is hard to tell is Valentine is more frustrated or embarrassed at the fans laughter when he tosses Piper to the floor but The Hammer comes outside and runs Piper into the ring rails by the fans busting Piper open. The move is sufficient enough to earn a disqualification and Piper advances to the next round. Both men brawl after the bell with Piper getting the upper hand and sending both Valentine and Albano retreating to the back.
The next match ..... Mil Mascaras (3) v. Roy Heffernan (62) w/Red Berry

Piper vs. Valentine was fun and that bodypress spot was classic. Cool to see the "Hot Rod" move on. The next bout has potential but I see Mil Mascaras coming out on top.

WOW! Piper win by DQ. To tell the truth, I thought it may have went the other way around. Next match I see Mil Mascaras coming out on top.

cruefan68 I am glad you enjoyed the cross body spot. It seemed natural that the fans would push Valentine over the edge. Nick_Nuke a few more roles and Piper may have snapped as well and he would have been on the sidelines next year. Mil Mascaras (3) v. Roy Heffernan (62) w/Red Berry Mascaras uses his speed to get the advantage early on with his speed and keeps Heffernan off balance until a FLYING BODYPRESS gets a 1 count (R11/P3). Mascaras continue to press the attack including a deathjump clothesline and a dive onto Heffernman and Berry at ringside that has the fans roaring. Heffernan is able to counter a deathjump smash with a boot to the face and gets his first run of offense. Heffernan works over Mascaras at ringside running the masked Mexican superstar into the ring rails. Back inside, Heffernan traps Mascaras in a STEP OVER TOEHOLD but Mascaras makes the ropes (R4/P1). Heffernan drags Mascaras to the middle the ring and twists away with another STEP OVER TOEHOLD but Mascaras is able kick free (R9/P2). Heffernan traps Mascaras in the ropes and works him over with punches earning solid heat. At ringside, Heffernan decks Mascaras with Berryβs cane and Mascaras barely makes the ring before being counted out. Berry gets involved with trip and the fans want to kill him. Outside, Heffernan goes into the ring post after Mascaras reverses an Irish whip. Mascaras is in control including a tackle in the corner and an octopus hold that nearly gets a submission (R11/P4). Mascaras nails Heffernan with a CROSSBODY ATTACK but Berry causes a distraction and the fans lose their minds. Mascaras then mounts the corner for a FLYING BODYPRESS. This time Berry jumps into the action and smashes Mascaras with his cane. Mascaras crashes to the mat. The bell sounds and Heffernan has been disqualified. A controversial ending to a wild encounter. Up next . . . Masked Superstar II (30) v. Don Muraco (35) w/Mr. Fuji

Surprising to see Piper actually WIN by DQ... Unreal!
Looked like a solid outing for Heffernan, especially considering his opponent... Too bad his manager got involved when he did... Maybe an upset was in the cards (or the dice, as the case may be)...
Would like to see Muraco advance to the next round... Always been a fan.

A lot of my favorites are coming up in the second half. I'm pulling for Muraco over Superstar II.

Good match between Mil Mascaras and Roy Heffernan. It's a same that Berry got his man a DQ. Next match should be good. I can go either way as both are some big men.
