Live Event DVD Update

We posted an update to Kickstarter contributors this past weekend. But here is the update to the rest of the universe eagerly awaiting the DVD.

The date originally stated was February, which is right around the corner. Unfortunately we will not be able to make the February date. When planning out the time frame last March, there were a number of contingencies in securing footage from multiple camera crews from different cities we did not plan for. Additionally, the process of editing and video production is taking longer than anticipated. In the end we want to deliver something that really captures the vision of a Sci-Fi Wrestling TV show we had when planning this adventure, and do not want to rush it and put out something we are not happy with.

Jeff Gutherz, who is heading up the editing of the footage, is anticipating that we can have it ready to send out this spring. In addition to the edited COTG Event, an edited version of the Legends of Wrestling show will be included. We will also be including a bunch of documentary and bonus footage on the DVD, including:

- An exclusive interview with game creator Tom Filsinger from after the show.

- Behind the scenes footage from the day of the show

- A hilarious deleted scene from the Legends of Wrestling show.

- Alternate Match Commentary from the Alien Announce Team

We really believe this is something you will enjoy and be happy you supported. If you supported at the $20 level or higher you can view the Smart Mark Video edit now by downloading the digital version of the show. Hello everyone. I wanted to reach out to give you an update on the COTG Live Event and Documentary release. While the process took us longer than hoped, we hope you will be pleased with the final effort on the event and the documentary features.

Recently the COTG Live Event Coordinators, myself and Jeff, got together with event host, Louden Noxious, to film some final pieces for the COTG Live Event DVD. The footage for the Live Event and the documentary have been edited are are in the process of having graphics and effects added to provide a final polished look to the presentation. The crew wants to make this something that long-time COTG fans will appreciate and bring in new fans as well. Shortly fans will get a first glimpse of what is to come with the Live Event Special Effects and the Documentary footage.

Once finalized in the next few weeks, the DVD will be sent to all Kickstarter contributors along with a DVD of all the documentary extras that will only be available to Kickstarter contributors. As a special bonus Kickstarter contributors will also get a Special Edition COTG Live Event game card with their DVD as a thank you for their patience as we finalize the DVD and documentary!

A screening of the COTG Live Event will be held during Wrestling Geek Fest weekend, the new Pro Wrestling Pop Culture convention presented by Filsinger Games in Cleveland, OH August 14-16. Check out the event details at wrestlinggeekfest.com

The commentary is really great, which will add to it, plus some of the bonus stuff and effects should be cool.

Long Time COTG fans and Gcon goers will get a huge kick out of the other documentary stuff. I have watched it all and loved it.

Despite some technical stumbling blocks, we are in the final stages of editing the documentary. Filmmaker Paul Schermerhorn is working on the documentary at this time. We'll keep you updated, but it looks like there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Once that is done we will get the DVD produced and shipped out, as well as make it available for sale for all those that did not contribute on Kickstarter.

Is the whole documentary exclusive to kickstarter backers,or will some form of it be on the DVD? Also,if I bought the "raw footage" MP4 will I still want the DVD? I assume it's been touched up and such.

Yes, the DVD is getting touched up with more graphics and special effects. Will be a different experience.

I personally was hoping this would be done by now to share with everyone, but is in the production team's hands. They have made progress, but its not been as fast as anyone has hoped.

Once I have a more concrete day on a potential release I will share.
