There would be better people than me doing this, but it's a team challenge where matches against each other get you points. About half the teams in KOT are also COI competitors.

With Challenge of the Immortals, that was basically guaranteed. For those not really following Chikara, what is Challenge of the Immortals? Challenge of the Immortals is a competition between 10 teams of 4 people. Each team captain chose their team in a draft held towards the beginning of the year. Each member of the winning team gets an automatic title shot of their choice. The Challenge of the Immortals is a double round-robin tournament. During the tournament, every team will square off twice in either a singles, tag team, trios, or relevos atomicos (four-on-four) match. Each team captain must agree on the match type in advance and the teams can meet in each match type only once. So, if two teams wrestle in a trios match, they have to choose another match type for their second encounter. A win is good for one point and while a loss doesn’t give a team any points, it doesn’t take any points from their total either. Keep in mind that #COTI15 matches do not provide points towards the CHIKARA Grand Championship or los Campeonatos de Parejas.
