It has been a tragic 24 hours for wrestling. In addition to El Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Cincinnati Red died yesterday too.
RIP for both.

i THINK the bump on the floor when he went flying out of the ring. i think he hit his head That's what I've been reading, too, that the flying head scissors from Misterio that threw him through the ropes to the outside caused the initial damage from a bad bump, but that he got back in the ring and appeared fine. It wasn't until the dropkick to set up the 619 that he flopped to the ropes. At that point everyone assumed he was just selling. It wasn't until a little after that that anyone (Konnan, I believe) knew anything was up.

Mysterio actually did hit a 619 on Manik AFTER Aguayo collapsed. It seemed like all parties were aware something was wrong, yet the match continued for way too long. Very disturbing...

Say what you want about WWE but as soon as Rey missed with the 619 the ref would have been throwing up the X for help. Konnan should have been getting help.

I just read that the State Attorney General's office has opened an investigation. Will be interesting to see who, if anyone, is held responsible as this obviously was a tragic accident, despite the negligence on everyone's part to stop the damn match. I get that these guys are trained to work through "adverse" situations and that the show must go on, but it's just so painfully obvious that at least 4 people (Manik, Mysterio, Konnan and the ref) knew something was very, very wrong and continued to perform.

I think that's what bothered me most about the video. Unless my eyes deceive me, it's pretty apparent that Mysterio notifies the ref that something is wrong.

The doctors were treating another fairly severe injury backstage and they were slow to respond because of it.

The doctors were treating another fairly severe injury backstage and they were slow to respond because of it. That would explain the Doctor not coming but NOBODY came.
