Apparently after a 619 to the trachea from Rey Mysterio last night. From what I read, sounds like he tried to block or avoid the move.
Hate hearing stuff like this, one man's life taken far too soon while another's is changed forever, both while doing what they love to do and we love to watch.
Thoughts and prayers to the families of both men.
Just tragic.

This is a sad day for all involved. I found a video on YouTube that shows him collapse against the ropes and stay there for a few minutes. I wonder if a trainer got to him sooner this could have been avoided

For the record, it wasn't a "619 to the trachea"... He hit his head on the ropes coming down into position for the 619 after a kick from Misterio. He never even took the 619 because all involved in the match could tell something was wrong. It was a fluke accident and terribly tragic. So, yeah, it wasn't the 619.
He died due to "cervical spine trauma due to a blow to the head after an apparent kick by Mysterio to set up his 619 move" according to official reports.
Regardless, terrible news. Peace to all those involved and their families. TJ Perkins (Manik) said it well: "I can't believe some of us pack our bags and don't make it home."

That's why I used the word "apparently"...I was only posting what I read on PW Torch this morning. A lesson learned to never believe what we read on the internet and obviously not important at all considering the end result. I just watched the video & yes, Mysterio never connects with the 619. Sadly, it looked like he was already gone when he hit the rope. Very poignant words from TJ. As I said before, just tragic.

I can't believe the Torch put that up. Honestly, that's the kind of sensationalistic garbage that brings down any form of news reporting, much less wrestling "journalism" on the net. Not your fault. Especially considering the Torch is one of the biggest news sites in wrestling.

Saw the video. Can confirm he was dead long before the 619. Rey didn't even connect, swinging his legs far above the sunken head of Aquayo. Disturbing video, especially since it doesn't even look like anything happens. One second he takes a basic dropkick from Rey, the next second he was dead. What an awful thing for everyone involved. RIP.

i THINK the bump on the floor when he went flying out of the ring. i think he hit his head
Not sure if i would have stopped the match as wrestlers have been knocked out before but if you see something is wrong why go for the 619 and risk hitting him
yeah he missed but to risky

Seemed like forever.
