Hey gang- I had been slow to check out the SHIMMER sets, but finally took the plunge and I'm glad I did. Both sets have lots of personality and the cards are great. Rolled a few shows and watched some video to get a feel for it and have really enjoyed it, so I've decided to start a new fed. Really looking forward to the possibilities of running a SHIMMER fed. This gives me three with perhaps one more in the works. Planning on running this fed a little differently. 10 show/year. Each year a new "season", tho some stories will carry over, I'll endeavor to end most angles at the end of the season. As such, I may get shows out in batches and then take a break to run my other feds more consistently. I may also introduce some bootlegs here and there to bolster an international feel to the fed. If you've followed any of my other feds, I focus a lot on the story the dice tell me in the ring and try to let things move along from there. There may be some talk segments, but these first cards will definitely focus more on the wrestling and competition to get me started. Some specifics about fed setup are below: Schedule: There will be FOUR “ Shimmer Weekends”. Two at the Eagles Club in Berwyn, IL and two at the Frontier Fieldhouse in Chicago Ridge, IL! However, each day will now only produce one DVD. In place of the missing DVDs, we will now produce two iPPVs per year in a live stream. The first will occur in the host city of Wrestlemania the Friday night before the event. This iPPV will kick off a series of shows carrying a subtitle. Upon the final show, another iPPV, the season will close and the following season will have a new subtitle and new numbering system. The first “ Shimmer Weekend” will be the second weekend in May.
Shimmer: A New Dawn Vol. 0 - 04/03/2009 - Clearlake City Recreation Center, Houston, TX
Shimmer: A New Dawn Vol. 1 - 05/16/2009 - Eagles Club, Berwyn, IL Shimmer: A New Dawn Vol. 2 - 05/17/2009 - Eagles Club, Berwyn, IL Shimmer: A New Dawn Vol. 3 - 07/03/2009 - The Frontier Fieldhouse, Chicago Ridge, IL Shimmer: A New Dawn Vol. 4 - 07/04/2009 - The Frontier Fieldhouse, Chicago Ridge, IL Shimmer: A New Dawn Vol. 5 - 08/21/2009 - Eagles Club, Berwyn, IL Shimmer: A New Dawn Vol. 6 - 08/22/2009 - Eagles Club, Berwyn, IL Shimmer: A New Dawn Vol. 7 - 09/18/2009 - The Frontier Fieldhouse, Chicago Ridge, IL Shimmer: A New Dawn Vol. 8 - 09/19/2009 - The Frontier Fieldhouse, Chicago Ridge, IL Shimmer: A New Dawn Vol. 9 - 10/31/2009 - Hammerstein Ballroom, New York, NY
Tournaments: Shimmer will hold two tournaments a year; the SHIMMER Grand Prix and the SHIMMER-DREAM Tag League. Winners will earn a shot at their respective title. Titles: Shimmer will have two regularly defended titles; the SHIMMER Championship and the SHIMMER Tag Team Championship. Interpromotional Relationships: Shimmer will have strong ties to my ROH fed and there’s every likelihood that Shimmer titles will be defended during the season at Ring of Honor events. It is unlikely the titles will be defended in the off-season, tho it’s not been ruled out and talent may still appear. There will likely be one major interpromotional event per year. Rosters: 2009: Alere Little Feather Allison Danger Amber O’Neal Angel Orsini Cheerleader Melissa Daizee Haze Jessie McKay Kellie Skater Krissy Vaine Lacey Leva Bates LuFisto Madison Eagles Mercedes Martinez MsChif Nevaeh Nicole Matthews Portia Perez Rain Sara Del Ray Sassy Stephie Simply Luscious Sumie Sakai Tomoko Nakagawa Tag Teams Canadian Ninjas (Perez/Matthews) Team Blondage (O’Neal/Vaine) Minnesota Home Wrecking Crew (Lacey/Rain) Pink Ladies (McKay/Eagles) After School Special (MsChif/Melissa) Luscious Angels (Simply Luscious/Angel Orsini)

SHIMMER: A New Dawn Vol. 0 04.03.2009 from Clearklake City Recreation Center, Houston, TX
Alere Little Feather vs. Kellie Skater Kellie Skater defeated Alere Little Feather with a SKATE AND DESTROY at 8:42 Match Rating: 3.75 Match Notes: Excellent opening match. They started off with some chain wrestling and reversals. Neither was able to sustain the upper hand.
Until Little Feather came off the ropes with a high cross body, but ate mat and Skater slapped on Skate of Die!
Alere was whipped into the corner, but moved and rolled Skater up in a school girl! 1... 2... NO!
Indian Death Lock! Skater is in pain, but makes the ropes.
Skater would mount a comeback with a huge lariat and almost secure a tap out with Skate or Die, but Alere made the ropes. Skater kept up the punishment until a big Northern Lights Suplex led to SKATE AND DESTROY for the 1, 2, 3! Nice win for Kellie Skater!
Minnesota Home Wrecking Crew vs. Team Blondage Lacey defeated Krissy Vaine with a TOMIKAZE at 8:47 Match Rating: 3.75 Match Notes: A excellent companion to the opening singles contest was this tag team match-up. Both teams matched up evenly and Lacey And Krissy chain wrestled until Lacey was able to direct Krissy into the Wrecking Crew's corner and they double teamed her in the corner.
That got them a near fall and then things went back and forth as Vaine was able to make comeback off the ropes and drop Rain.
She made the tag, but before O'Neal could get much started Rain mounted a comeback. She punished O'Neal, even hitting a jaw breaking lariat. A quick tag brought in Lacey and they hit a double team neckbreaker!
1... 2... Krissy Vaine drops the elbow on Lacey! Rain is in! Eventually all four are going at it, but the ref warns them strongly and is able to get the legal women established. O'Neal drops Lacey with and inverted DDT.
Lacey is able to make comeback shortly, tho and hits some strong front kicks. O'Neal is down. Quick tag, Rain is in and stays on her... Another quick tag... TOMIKAZE!
Rain pushes Vaine from the apron and Lacey gets the fall.
Leva Bates vs. Lufisto Leva Bates defeated Lufisto with a DQ at 5:31 Match Rating: 2.75 Match Notes: Newcomer Leva Bates comes to the ring dressed as the Joker from the Dark Knight! It certainly earns her the enthusiasm from the fans, now lets see what she does in the ring.
LuFisto is a veteran by any standards. We'll see what she has to say about this rookie...
The early going involves some great chain wrestling and the fans applaud accordingly. LuFisto scores big first with a cannonball in the corner, but when she whips Bates into the opposite corner and goes charging again, she's met with a knee... Superhero Super Kick! And another! A dropkick sends LuFisto outside, but she couldn't have planned it better.
In the ensuing brawl on the outside, LuFisto takes charge and punishes the debuting Bates old school style. Bates tries to comeback and the ref nearly has to DQ the both of them. Experience pays off, tho and LuFisto rolls her back in.
MANGALIZER! 1... 2... NO!
LuFisto is pissed and can't believe it!
She tosses Bates out and beats her down before grabbing the photographers camera and blasts Bates with it! "You wanna get famous!"
The ref calls for the bell as LuFisto continues to yell at the downed Leva Bates. The Missionary of Violence just earned her nickname, but at the expense of a DQ loss...
"Who's laughing now? HA HA HA!"
Allison Danger is out and LuFisto finally backs off! Danger helps Bates up as LuFisto smirks at the damage she's caused.
Sumie Sakai vs. Allison Danger Sumie Sakai defeated Allison Danger with a MOONSAULT at 12:27 Match Rating: 4.25 Match Notes: What a great match. They put on a wrestling clinic inside the squared circle. Tons of back and forth action, chain wrestling, and each busting out their big moves when they could. There was plenty of drama and nearfalls and even some Danger-led mayhem on the outside at one point.
Just prior to that Danger had hit the Old School Expulsion for a nearfall to sent momentum firmly her way.
Sakai came back tho after tossing Danger from the top rope. Both were moving a little slower after that, but every move counted. They went back and forth for a couple more exchanges, but Sakai started to gain more and more momentum and it looked like she might have the match when Danger came off the ropes with a big move. She cornered Sakai with strikes, but that may have just set her off.
Danger was creamed off the ropes with an elbow and tho Danger mounted one last attempt as they struggle on the top turnbuckle, Sakai pushed her back in, hit the Sambo Suplex and followed it with the MOONSAULT to score the 1, 2, 3.
Tomoka Nakagawa vs. Simply Luscious Tomoka Nakagawa defeated Simply Luscious with a roll through at 8:55 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: Lots of effort and back and forth in this one, but it didn't quite feel like it meant a lot. Lacked a bit of the flow of the earlier matches, but there were still some nice spots including the ref taking a nasty bump and having to be replaced.
It was too close to call right up until the end, but going up top hurt Luscious not once, but twice and the adage of "to the well once to often," came true. Nakagawa rolled through a cross body attempt and for the quick 1, 2, 3 to put an end to good match.
Nevaeh vs. Nicole Matthews Nevaeh defeated Nicole Matthews with a BACKPACK STUNNER at 3:17 Match Rating: 3.25 Match Notes: This bout went from 0-60 in not time. Matthews attempted to start things off with a wristlock, but Nevaeh countered with a facebreaker and then the BACKPACK STUNNER! Matthews got the shoulder up, tho and then mounted a comeback.
She was taking the fight to Nevaeh, when she shot off into the ropes and somehow Nevaeh counted into the BACKPACK STUNNER again!!!
1, 2, 3! That was impressive.
Mercedes Martinez vs. Sara Del Rey vs. Portia Perez vs. Daizee Haze Daizee Haze defeated Portia Perez with a MIND TRIP at 36:03 Mercedes Martinez defeated Sara Del Rey with a FISHERMAN BUSTER at 5:06 Daizee Haze defeated Mercedes Martinez with a MIND TRIP at 39:17 Match Rating: 4.75 Match Notes: This was an incredible four-way contest! Incredible story.
Mercedes went straight for Sara and while Daizee was occupied with Portia, she laid down a huge beating!
Sara tried to come back with a Northern Lights, but Martinez fought her off and hit her with some brutal chops and followed it with the FISHERMAN'S BUSTER to get a quick first elimination! On Sara Del Rey!
What followed cannot adequately be described. It was an incredible three way dance that saw so many momentum changes and nearfalls... Except for Mercedes. Her shoulders never touched the mat and tho she didn't necessarily dominate Daizee and Portia she was never in legitimate danger, tho there were plenty of times when she wasn't the focus and Haze and Perez went at it.
Nearing the 30 minute mark the action got even more furious with multiple nearfalls and incredible momentum shifts. Haze took an insane amount of punishment and was definitely the worst for wear in this match. Mercedes and Perez almost seemed to be fighting over who was going to pin Haze as they kept breaking up the pin fall!
It cost them... Haze was able to come back out of no where with a twirling head scissors off the ropes and then a picture perfect diving cross body! MIND TRIP!!!! 1, 2, 3! Perez is eliminated!
Mercedes is on the attack. Kick in the corner... Irish whip... Reversal! Yakuza kick from Haze! MIND TRIP!
1, 2, 3!
What a win!!! After all that punishment, Haze would not stay down and it pays off as she outlasts Del Rey, Martinez, and Perez!
- 2/3 Falls - After School Special vs. Pink Ladies Cheerleader Melissa defeated Jessie McKay with an Air Raid Crash into Unhallowed Grace at 5:12 Jessie McKay defeated Cheerleader Melissa with a BOYFRIEND STEALER at 16:09 Cheerleader Melissa defeated Jessie McKay with a KUDOH DRIVER at 22:38 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: Great tag team action to close the show. It was hard to replicate the drama of the last match, but these four ladies had an excellent contest that went back and forth for all three falls.
MsChif and Melissa were in control for the opening stretch and even hit both their finishers. Madison broke up the pin after the KUDOH DRIVER, but unfortunately for her partner, while she was being escorted to the apron, After School Special hit a double team that saw Melissa spike McKay with the Air Raid Crash and then MsChif hit Unhallowed Grace to get the first fall in quick fashion.
The second fall would take longer and all four women had their moments, but mostly the Pink Ladies were able to isolate and wear down Melissa to a terrible degree.
The second fall was finished by BOYFRIEND STEALER to Melissa!
The final fall started off poorly for Melissa, but she turned things a round big time and made the perfectly timed tag to MsChif.
MsChif cleaned house and put the hurt on McKay and hit a Code Green for a near fall, but Eagles broke it up.
MsChif tagged Melissa and knocked Madison off the apron!
Curb stomp from Melissa! KUDOH DRIVER!
Madison can't make the save! 1, 2, 3!
After School Special gets the win to send the fans home happy. What a fantastic night of action as Shimmer has it's New Dawn! Stay tuned for more updates as we head back to Berwyn for "Shimmer Weekend", May 16th and 17th...
Overall Card Rating: 3.69

What a way to kick off your new fed...
Unfortunate to see poor Leva get beaten down by LuFisto... The last two matches were superb... Daizee Haze showed amazing resiliency to outlast her three opponents... And both teams were impressive in the main event...
I don't follow much when it comes to Shimmer, but I'll keep checking in here, for sure... Really enjoy your writing style... Excellent work!

Thanks for the comments. Volume 1 & 2 are on their way and Volume 2 in particular is literally one of the best cards I've ever played. Cannot wait to see what comes next and what others think.

SHIMMER: A New Dawn Vol. 1 05.16.2009 from Eagles Club, Berwyn, IL
Minnesota Home Wrecking Crew vs. The Luscious Angels Rain defeated Angel Orsini with a DQ at 6:52 Match Rating: 2.25 Match Notes: Started off strong with great back and forth tag action.
Luscious would score a near fall on Rain with the LUSCIOUS LANDING, but Lacey saved her partner with a wicked series of elbows and then put Rain on top of Luscious for their own near fall.
Things continued in a see saw manner, but were definitely more heated. At one point Rain was shot into the turnbuckle, but Orsini ended up tumbling to the outside when Rain moved out of the way.
Rain went out after her, but Orsini immediately went for a chair and sought to rearrange Rain's facial features!
The ref calls for the DQ and the Minnesota Home Wrecking Crew are one fall away from being tag team champions. Luscious looks none too happy with her partner...
Alere Little Feather vs. Leva Bates Leva Bates defeated Alere Little Feather with a facebreaker at 3:03 Match Rating: 1.75 Match Notes: Bates was cosplaying as the "Macho Man'- er 'Woman'. Fringe jacket, sunglasses, and the whole nine yards. Perhaps a nod to his title win in the Wrestlemania 4 tourney. Will Leva be able to duplicate that success?
This match certainly made is seem possible. She scored a near fall early after double handstand knees.
Action would spill out and Bates played up her costume as she came off the top with a double axe handle and nearly scored a count out win!
Back inside a Sliced Bread #2 led to a brutal facebuster for the 1, 2, 3!
Allison Danger vs. Nevaeh Nevaeh defeated Allison Danger with a pinning combo off the ropes at 14:22 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: These two squared off in a hotly contested bout. Early on Nevaeh made a huge statement by scoring a near fall with a BACKPACK STUNNER.
But Danger came back and we saw a hi impact back and forth contest from then on out.
At one point Nevaeh looked to put Danger away with a guillotine choke, but Danger wouldn't succumb to it.
The finish saw Danger come roaring back to life and nearly put Nevaeh away with Old School Expulsion! Frustrated she went for a sunset flip off the ropes and Nevaeh dropped down and hooked the legs in a pinning combo to steal the win!
Great match.
Cheerleader Melissa vs. Sassy Stephie Sassy Stephie defeated Cheerleader Melissa with a roll up at 10:48 Match Rating: 3.75 Match Notes: Interesting matchup. I think you'd have to say that Melissa was the favorite going into it, but Stephie brought her A-game.
Both competitors were willing to do whatever it took to win and wrestled with an intensity in and out of the ring leading to some great brawling from both early on. Melissa came out on top and went straight for the win with the AIR RAID CRASH, but Stephie go the shoulder up at 2!
Melissa was frustrated and they took things outside a little bit later and Melissa again had the edge. Back in a curb stomp kept her in control, but Stephie his a double underhook DDT off the ropes and scored a near fall from no where!
KISS MY SASS! 1... 2... NO! Another one!!!
1... 2... NO! Melissa won't stay down, but Stephie is not in full control after some devastating moves. Stephie kept the pressure on, but Melissa would battle back and they see sawed back and forth in the final moments!
Melissa whipped Stephie into the corner... She comes charging... Stephie moves! Melissa crashed through into the post! Stephie rolls her up! 1, 2, 3!!!
Sassy Stephie with what must be considered an upset! Cheerleader Melissa has her title hopes dashed with a shocking loss.
Sumie Sakai vs. Daizee Haze Daizee Haze defeated Sumie Sakai with a MIND TRIP at 1:12 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: Daizee caught Sakai off guard in the opening moments with a bridging German suplex! A heart punch was followed up by a Yakuza kick!
MIND TRIP! Cover! 1, 2, 3!
Haze just steam rollered her way through the very shot, but stiff contest.
Kellie Skater vs. Jessie McKay Jessie McKay defeated Kellie Skater with a BOYFRIEND STEALER at 6:10 Match Rating: 3.00 Match Notes: Solid if short. McKay made a statement early with a near fall after a hurricanrana!
Skater would make a comeback tho and used a combination of strikes and stretching to keep McKay off balance. She even went up top and scored big with a flying dropkick.
McKay, tho made a comeback with the hurricanrana and things spilled outside. They brawled heatedly and the ref had to give them multiple warning on the outside as they punished each other back and forth. McKay finally smashed Skater into the ring post back first. She rolled her in and hit the BOYFRIEND STEALER for the 1, 2, 3!
Lufisto vs. Tomoka Nakagawa Lufisto defeated Tomoka Nakagawa with a Diving Star Headbutt at 15:50 Match Rating: 4.25 Match Notes: Great match from two very evenly matched competitors.
They jockeyed back and forth and until LuFisto scored with a series of chops and jabs that got her a near fall.
A spinning backfist led to a rear naked choke and it looked like LuFisto was firmly in control, but after a Tiger Suplex, Nakagawa hit a lariat out of the corner and took over!
Nakagawa used a Boston Crab to stretch LuFisto and utilized the bow and arrow as well. LuFisto managed a comeback, tho and used her own arsenal of submission moves to put the hurt on Nakagawa.
They started trading holds back and forth and at one point Nakagawa scored with a step up enzugiri, but LuFisto struck right back with a series of strikes again and again!
1... 2... NO! Nakagawa is down, tho... LuFisto up top... Diving Star Headbutt! A cover! 1, 2, 3!
LuFisto gets the hard fought win after a great battle.
Sara Del Rey vs. Mercedes Martinez Mercedes Martinez defeated Sara Del Rey with a FISHERMAN BUSTER at 2:12 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: Wow. Del Rey struggled in the Four Way at New Dawn Vol. 0 and this continued that trend...
Martinez continued a streak of dominance with a win that saw her hit an arm drag and follow it with a leg sweep.
She then chopped Del Rey until the welts were literally bleeding! Del Rey is up to her feet slowly and holding her chest... FISHERMAN BUSTER!
1, 2, 3!
Martinez just destroyed one of the favorites. Between this and her performance in the four way, Martinez has to be a favorite going into the next round.
Canadian Ninjas vs. Team Blondage Krissy Vaine defeated Portia Perez with a leg drop at 23:42 Match Rating: 4.50 Match Notes: Match of the night so far. These four put on a hell of an athletic contest that went back and forth all night long.
The Canadian Ninjas hit FUNKY COLD MEDINA early on, but Vaine broke up the pin attempt. Blondage was able to come back, but the Ninjas weren't going to lay down. They see sawed again and again with Nicole Matthews taking a huge amount of punishment via holds and double team from Blondage.
Matthews came back huge and made the hot tag to Perez, but it didn't last and even after a Just Facelock and Divorce Court, Vaine came back and Blondage hit the BLONDE BOMB!
O'Neal nearly choked Perez out with the crotchrocket, but a tag to Vaine saw Perez take a huge leg drop for the 1, 2, 3!
Madison Eagles vs. MsChif MsChif defeated Madison Eagles with a DQ at 10:24 Match Rating: 3.25 Match Notes: Hi impact brawl. This one was a tough contest and Eagles was like a heat seeking missile.
After a little back and forth in the very beginning, Madison took over and ended up hitting a big flying knee strike that sent MsChif to the ringside area. They brawled outside which is something that they nearly spent more time doing than anything else by the time the match was over.
Eagles followed a pair of brianbusters back inside with the Cattle Mutilation! It spilled outside again, tho and brawled with abandon.
Eagles would end up hitting HELL BOUND, but MsChif got the shoulder up. They went outside yet again and this time Eagles hit a brainbuster on the outside to get a near count-out. MsChif, tho was able to comeback back inside and hit Eagles with a barrage that led to the Gates of Hell II!
Eagles rolled outside after reaching the ropes and had bad intentions. Even though the ref warned her multiple times, Eagles slammed MsChif through a table and the ref DQ'd her! Overall Card Rating: 2.70

SHIMMER: A New Dawn Vol. 2 05.17.2009 from Eagles Club, Berwyn, IL
Leva Bates vs. Nevaeh Leva Bates defeated Nevaeh with a PEPSI PLUNGE at 23:51 Match Rating: 4.75 Match Notes: If there was one match so far to show someone how important the SHIMMER Championship is to these Women Athletes, this would be it.
These two went to war and left nothing in the locker room. They battled back and forth with each getting a little something in before the other would take over. No one was able to hit any big bombs, tho.
That is, until Leva Bates hit two handstand double knees and followed it with a PEPSI PLUNGE! 1... 2... NO!
Leva can't believe it... Another PEPSI PLUNGE!!!
1... 2... NO!
Frustrated, Leva followed Nevaeh outside and the two began brawling at the ringside area!
Leva was starting to lose her cool and almost let it get the better of her outside, but showing resolve, she kept up the punishment inside and eventually hit a third PEPSI PLUNGE... Nevaeh gets the shoulder up!!!!
What does Leva Bates have to do? What will it take to stop Nevaeh? Who wants it more?
A Superhero Kick would only score another two count and Leva Bates was clearly feeling frustrated and now sure what to do...
Nevaeh would finally make a comeback and they battled back and forth at an incredible pace considering we were almost at 20 minutes...
The finish finally came in spectacular style as Nevaeh had, against all odds mounted a spectacular come back... It came to an end tho when she shot Leva into the corner... Leva hit a Superhero Kick out of no where and then a fourth PEPSI PLUNGE to secure the win and move on!
Both women received a standing ovation from the crowd and it was going to be a long night for Leva Bates from here on out.
Both ladies shook hands to the further approval of the crowd...
Mercedes Martinez vs. Daizee Haze Daizee Haze defeated Mercedes Martinez with a MIND TRIP at 11:28 Match Rating: 4.50 Match Notes: Some may argue that this will be the match of the night, even after the previous barn burner.
Martinez brutalized Daizee Haze early and scored a near fall after a brutal lariat out of the corner.
She cut off every attempt at offense from Haze with a more brutal maneuver and used forearms and chops to establish her brutal striking power.
Haze seemed out of it, but when Martinez went for a spinebuster, Haze slipped away... Spin kick, ducked by Martinez! Shot to the face blocked by Haze! Forearm! Go behind! Bridging German Suplex by Haze!!!
1... 2... NO!
MIND TRIP!
1... 2... NO!!! Mercedes is still in this.
What an exchange! Haze pressed her advantage, threw caution to the wind, and hit a huge suicide dive that nearly took out both women.
Martinez came back, tho and it looked like she wanted to cave Haze's chest in with her chops. Some forearm shots took Haze off her feet and she rolled out...
Martinez comes after her, but Haze, in desperation, posts her! Rolls her in... MIND TRIP! 1... 2... 3!
What an incredible win for Daizee Haze... No matter what, lately she finds a way to win. This puts her one step closer to the SHIMMER Championship...
Martinez is hot afterwards and even through the pain is etched in her face, the hate is in her eyes... Haze has gotten the duke twice now against her this season...
Sassy Stephie vs. MsChif MsChif defeated Sassy Stephie with a DESECRATER at 11:45 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: Another incredible match! Tons of reversals and chain wrestling and some moments of brawling in and out of the ring.
Lots of strikes and big moves, even some biting, screaming, and hair pulling. The pace was intense, too.
Just when you thought MsChif was going to put her away Stephie wouldn't stay down.
Finally a sitout chokeslam followed by a moonsault looked to be enough, but Stephie got the shoulder up...
DESECRATER! 1, 2, 3!
Great match with some fantastic exchanges. Very different feel to what we saw before. MsChif certainly comes into the next round the least for wear.
Lufisto vs. Jessie McKay Lufisto defeated Jessie McKay with a roll through at 11:19 Match Rating: 3.75 Match Notes: Another match that really played out differently, but no less dramatically than the prior bouts.
The opening moments saw McKay on fire with a trio of hurricanranas, but LuFisto capitalized on a mistake and even hit the BURNING HAMMER! McKay somehow kicked out and even went on to survive the Diving Star Headbutt!
LuFisto ended up dishing out a ton of punishment to McKay and at one point it all looked elementary, but after a tumble outside, LuFisto rolled McKay in and went up top...
McKay gets the boot up and LuFisto is in trouble!
McKay locks on 7 Minutes In Heaven! That dreaded octopus hold! LuFisto nearly taps out, but survives. McKay has control and decides to go high risk, she's clearly hurting... Up top...
Picture perfect cross body, but LuFisto rolls through!!! 1... 2... 3! LuFisto is able to keep McKay down! Great match!
The Luscious Angels vs. Canadian Ninjas Nicole Matthews defeated Simply Luscious with a FUNKY COLD MEDINA at 6:47 Match Rating: 2.75 Match Notes: Solid tag mach that saw the Canadian NINJAs use some excellent continuity to put away the Luscious Angels.
That's not to saw Orsini and Luscious were pushovers. In fact Luscious dominated both Perez and Matthews for a little bit before the finish came suddenly, but not unexpectedly...
Luscious had hit Perez with a big snap suplex, but Perez responded with a jawbreaker moments later and then the NINJAs hit FUNKY COLD MEDINA!
Orsini makes the save, but while she's being escorted to the apron, the NINJAs hit it again and the ref counts the 1, 2, 3!
Lufisto vs. MsChif Lufisto defeated MsChif with a MANGALIZER at 5:57 Match Rating: 2.50 Match Notes: This was pretty much 6 minutes of hell for MsChif. LuFisto chopped, jabbed, and slammed her way to a MANGALIZER in the opening moments, but MsChif wouldn't go away that easy. LuFisto seemed more than happy to oblige and continued to lay on the punishment
MsChif attempted to come back with a lariat out of the corner, but both women were down and LuFisto got back up and hit a BURNING HAMMER for another near fall!
A pair of tiger suplexes couldn't leave MsChif down for the count, but another MANGALIZER finally put her down and LuFisto has worked her way up to the finals for the SHIMMER Championship!
Will she face Leva Bates, the rookie she put a beating on during Vol. 0? Or will it be the indefatigable Daizee Haze?
Leva Bates vs. Daizee Haze Leva Bates defeated Daizee Haze with a DQ at 26:45 Match Rating: 4.50 Match Notes: This was an amazing match! They spend the full time going back and forth in every which way possible.
Just when you thought the match was over, the other would come back to life and even the score.
Leva was able to press an advantage early and score a near fall, but Haze came back and scored with a Daizee Cutter for one of her own.
Now Haze was in control and punished Bates. Scoring another near fall after a Heart Punch.
Fans couldn't believe the way Bates kept getting the shoulder up! Bates came back, but wasn't able to keep the momentum going for more than a few moves. Haze kept cutting her off.
Haze scored with another Heart Punch! Cover... 1... 2... NO!
Haze couldn't believe it and neither could the fans.
She went on to wear her down with more hi impact offense and then hit a Daizee Cutter for another cover...
1... 2... NO!
Leva Bates will not stay down and the fans are cheering her on... Haze is losing her cool and another Daizee Cutter sent Bates outside.
They began brawling and Bates whipped Haze into the guardrail... Haze grabbed a chair and tossed it at Bates as she charged in! The ref calls for the DQ! Haze can't believe it! She's in arguing with the ref, exhausted, herself.
Bates is slow to get up, but comes into the ring... Haze turns around and looks like she's one step away from hitting her... But she shakes he head and says "sorry" and shakes Bates' hand before raising it up as the fans cheer.
Leva Bates went through hell tonight and has a relatively fresh LuFisto to face off with in the biggest match of her young career. Bates vs. LuFisto in the main event to determine the new SHIMMER Champion!
[Leva is +2 going into the main event tonight!]
Madison Eagles vs. Sara Del Rey vs. Allison Danger vs. Cheerleader Melissa Cheerleader Melissa defeated Sara Del Rey with an AIR RAID CRASH at 50:32 This match ended in a draw (Time Limit Draw) at 60:00 Match Rating: 4.75 Match Notes: This is an historic night in Women's pro wrestling. In addition to the stellar tournament action so far, this Four Way Elimination match was incredible. From start to finish.
It started in the ring back and forth, but the action broke down about half way through and turned into a wild brawl that saw as much take place outside the ring as in it. All four women took a beating and it could've gone any way at any time. When a fall finally came it was in wild fashion...
Sara Del Rey, after taking a beating at the hands of the other three had mounted a big comeback and hit the ROYAL BUTTERFLY on Allison Danger... But Cheerleader Melissa comes from no where and drop Del Rey with the AIR RAID CRASH!!!
1, 2, 3! Of course, that's over 50 minutes into this contest. Melissa, drops Eagles with a Samoan Drop! 1... 2... NO!
All three ladies are beyond exhausted and the crowd has already chanted "Thank You Ladies" numerous times throughout this intense, perfectly wrestled, four way.
After Melissa was doing her damnedest to put away either Eagles or Danger, the finish finally came after Danger dropped Melissa with Old School Expulsion and then hit her with a Lovelace Choker...
The bell is ringing! The time keeper informs the ref the limit is up! That's 60 minutes! Incredible. Eagles, Melissa, and Danger would not be denied... What does this mean for the sole elimination, Sara Del Rey.
They get a standing ovation and we still have two title matches to go!
Team Blondage vs. Minnesota Home Wrecking Crew for the SHIMMER Tag Team Championship Amber O'Neal defeated Lacey with a double facelift at 6:39 Match Rating: 2.75 Match Notes: Definitely would be hard to follow the time limit draw and they didn't try. They just had a highly heated contest that was back and forth every step of the way.
O'Neal nearly choked out Rain in the opening moments and Blondage established their dominance with highly effective double teaming.
A hot tag brought Lacey in and they kept trading holds.
The finish came after Blondage dropped Rain with a double facelift, she made a tag to Lacey, but it didn't matter as Lacey was dropped with the double facelift and Amber O'Neal scored the win and Team Blondage are your new SHIMMER Tag Team Champions!
Team Blondage won the SHIMMER Tag Team Championship
Leva Bates vs. Lufisto for the SHIMMER Championship Lufisto defeated Leva Bates with a BURNING HAMMER at 22:00 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: Leva Bates comes into this match already exhausted and worse for wear after two valiant performances. She's been dressed as Chun-Li from Street Fighter all night, but even the outfit is showing some wear and tear...
She comes out with a body scissors and tries to wear down LuFisto, but LuFisto knows that she has to bring it and hopefully take advantage of her weakened state.
They went back and forth, tho and Bates was able to go hold for hold, move for move. At one point, LuFisto strung together some devastating moves, the Diving Star Headbutt, chops and jabs, and a Tiger Suplex.
At one point a rear naked choke nearly put Bates out, but she made it to the ropes and went outside... LuFisto with a Tornado DDT on the floor!!!
Leva Bates is busted open!!! Oh no!
LuFisto brawls with her outside. The ref is near to stopping the match, but Bates waves him off. Tiger Suplex! LuFisto takes her out again and is whipping her pillar to post, but Bates comes back! Whips her into the guardrail, but she just can't capitalize and she is wearing the crimson mask...
LuFisto is able to regain the advantage... MANGALIZER!
1... 2... NO!
The crowd is chanting for Leva, but LuFisto will have none of it! She screams at the bloody Leva and hits the BURNING HAMMER!
1, 2, 3!
Wow! LuFisto is your SHIMMER Champion!
Bates is being helped to the back as fans are chanting "thank you Leva". LuFisto is hot! "What about me?" she screams! She runs up the aisle and smashes Leva Bates with the belt! Allison Danger makes the save again as LuFisto gets back in the ring with her belt and plays to a booing crowd as Danger helps Bates through the curtain...
Lufisto won the SHIMMER Championship

Was really pulling for Leva to win the championship... But, LuFisto is a brutal competitor... As further witnessed by her post-match assault - sorest winner EVER!
The four-way bout was incredible, going the full 60 minutes... Those ladies definitely deserved the ovation...
And congrats to Team Blondage on becoming the new Tag Team champs... Great work!

Soon, SHIMMER returns! Some of the amazing action will include the tag champs, Team Blondage, facing each of the Canadian NINJAS in singles action, Madison Eagles and Cheerleader Melissa in a number one contender's match, and a grudge tag team war where Leva Bates and Allison Danger will take on LuFisto and her chosen partner, Sumie Sakai! Bates may have to work for a title shot, but perhaps she can get a measure of revenge for the post-match attack she suffered after their title tournament bout.
All this and more!

SHIMMER: A New Dawn Vol. 3 07.03.2009 from The Frontier Fieldhouse, Chicago Ridge, IL[/size]
Minnesota Home Wrecking Crew vs. The Luscious Angels Simply Luscious defeated Lacey with a LUSCIOUS LANDING at 10:19 Match Rating: 2.75 Match Notes: Solid, if unspectacular.
The ref took a bump and the Luscious Angels were able to isolate Lacey and pick her apart. She tried to make the tag, but just couldn't bring Rain in.
The finish saw Luscious hit LUSCIOUS LANDING and Orsini cutoff Rain as Lacey was pinned 1, 2, 3.
Orsini and Luscious avenge their DQ loss, but they're still a few wins out of the title hunt... For now.
MsChif vs. Tomoka Nakagawa MsChif defeated Tomoka Nakagawa with a DESECRATER at 3:27 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: Wow! Nakagawa didn't stand a chance. MsChif beat her down in the ring and then locked in Gates of Hell II, but Nakagawa made the ropes and rolled out of the ring. That may have been a terrible idea. MsChif followed her out a brawled some more with here, drawing the ire of the ref and was threatened with DQ, but she kept just enough control to roll her in and hit the DESECRATER for the win.
After Lufisto rolled over her in the title tournament, this was a dominating display and much needed win by MsChif.
Amber O'Neal vs. Nicole Matthews Nicole Matthews defeated Amber O'Neal with a VANCOUVER MANEUVER at 12:09 Match Rating: 3.25 Match Notes: The NINJAS want a title shot at the newly crowned champs, Team Blondage. Tonight, we get a pair of singles matches with Matthews/O'Neal up first.
O'Neal dictated the pace early and used some holds to wear down Matthews before going for higher impact moves... The action then spilled outside and O'Neal had the advantage with the brawling, nearly being DQ'd.
Matthews, though, made a big comeback and strung together some big moves for a nearfall.
O'Neal attempted a comeback, but Matthews had the momentum and a superplex would lead to her finisher for the win!
Mercedes Martinez vs. Nevaeh Mercedes Martinez defeated Nevaeh with a brutal chops at 14:52 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: These two had a great match. It went back and forth with lots of chain wrestling early.
Neveah looked great early on and it's worth mentioning that other than her loss in a damned near 5 star match with Leva Bates, she's undefeated.
Martinez hasn't been on the winning side of things a lot lately, tho and could use this win to build some momentum.
The action started to heat up and Martinez avoided a couple near falls, including one after a beautiful snap suplex.
Nevaeh would be on the receiving end of Mercedes' aggression, but again came back with a cross body from the top. She attempted a second, but Martinez pulled the ref in the way!!!
The ref was out and Martinez went to work! She chopped the hell out of her opponent and took the action outside using questionable tactics, but there was no ref to see it.
When he finally came to, Martinez blasted Nevaeh with a brainbuster and then some more brutal chops to secure the win!
Portia Perez vs. Krissy Vaine Portia Perez defeated Krissy Vaine with a SUPERKICK at 2:36 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: Vaine went immediately for a test of strength and had a short advantage... Perez tried to comeback with some strikes, but the tag champ would have none of it and went to work with hi impact moves!
A leg drop scored a near fall, but Vaine went up top way to early and Perez launched her from the top and hit a SUPERKICK! 1, 2, 3!
Vaine is hot afterwards and Amber O'Neal runs out as Perez is backed into a corner... But here comes Nicole Matthews!
The Canadian NINJAS have scored singles victories here tonight, but can they dethrone the tag champs at Volume 4?!?
The stand off is broken as the champs head to the back smirking, but their pride has definitely been bruised by the NINJAS.
Sara Del Rey vs. Daizee Haze Sara Del Rey defeated Daizee Haze with a CROSS ARM BREAKER at 9:27 Match Rating: 3.25 Match Notes: Strong match.
Haze absorbed a lot of punishment early on and Del Rey scored a near fall.
Haze came back after the action spilled outside, though, and hit a missile dropkick and a suicide plancha!
A testament to Del Rey's skill, she came back and they battled back and forth until she came shot Haze into the turnbuckle and scored with a big lariat... CROSS ARM BREAKER!
Haze is already hurting and has no choice but to tap!
Haze has had some heroic performances, but Del Rey clearly had her number and this puts Sara in a good position in the rankings going forward.
Cheerleader Melissa vs. Madison Eagles Cheerleader Melissa defeated Madison Eagles with a KUDOH DRIVER at 16:32 Match Rating: 4.50 Match Notes: Leave it to two of the finest women wrestlers in the world to give us this match.
Both knew the winner would grab a title shot at LuFisto and they both gave it their all.
Madison had the advantage early on and pressed it big time. She was looking to put Melissa away early and got multiple near falls. Melissa had flurries her and there, but Madison kept the pressure on in AND out of the ring.
At one point, Madison would score with HELL BOUND, but even that wasn't enough to put the weakened Melissa away.
Melissa would rally back and hit a big missile dropkick from the top. An AIR RAID CRASH could only score a near fall, tho.
They kept brawling in and out of the ring, trying to put one another away with big moves. The finishing stretch was breathtaking and a testament to both women's mettle.
Melissa came roaring back and hit a couple curb stomps to even the score after the brutal flying knees Madison had laid in earlier.
She went on to hit three straight AIR RAID CRASHes, but Madison wouldn't stay down!
Melissa was hot and gave it everything she had to hit the KUDOH DRIVER and it was finally enough to get the huge win in the match of the night so far!
Another high water mark for SHIMMER.
Sumie Sakai and Lufisto vs. Regeneration X Allison Danger defeated Sumie Sakai with a count out at 1:26 Match Rating: 0.00 Match Notes: This one turned into more of an angle than a match. Bates and Sakai started the bout off, but a quick tag brought in Danger and she took Sakai out with some stiff blows in the corner and tossed her out of the ring. A huge dive floored Sakai into the guardrail and the ref counted Sakai out!
Sakai was hurting and Danger and Bates were actually showing some concern but the SHIMMER Champ, LuFisto grabbed her title and started toward the back. Bates went after her, but was met with a title to the face! She laid in a few stomps on the downed Bates and screamed "That's the closest you're going to get!"
Danger made the save as officials tended to Sakai!
LuFisto never even entered the ring and is fresh for her title challenge from Cheerleader Melissa at Volume 4!
Danger and Bates leave together, but will Leva ever get the upper hand with LuFisto? And when will she have the chance?
Overall Card Rating: 2.48
