Card 01 –Phase One – Franklin Horner Community Centre, Etobicoke
Team FIST (Johnny Gargano* & Chuck Taylor * v. Philly’s Most Wanted (BLK Jeez & Joker)
Philly’s Most Wanted have complete control of this one from the outset first against Gargano and then against Taylor. Jeez connects with a Million $ Dropkick on Taylor but Taylor is able to counter Joker’s backdrop with a piledriver. Joker gets the best of a brawl with Gargano on the floor allowing Jeez to get back into the match. Back and forth at this point. Gargano and Joker go to the floor and struggle over a chair. Gargano gets control of the weapon and decks Joker. The referee calls for the disqualification and the fans are not pleased. All four men brawl after the bell with Philly’s Most Wanted getting the upper hand and sending FIST retreating to the back.
Drew Gulak ** v. The Hobo
Gulak gets on the mic and runs down his opponent telling the fans he is in Ontario Championship Wrestling to clean up the ring and rid the Province of filth like The Hobo. Gulak quickly gets the action to the mat but Hobo is able to survive a sharp shooter and then escapes a GU-LOCK. Hobo has the fans behind him but cannot get anything going. A Nazi Stretch nearly ends it. Gulak comes off the top with a crossbody block but Hobo gets his shoulder up to avoid defeat. A pair of back body drops knocks the remaining resistance out of Hobo and Gulak applies a sharp shooter for the submission victory.
Icarus v. Shane Strickland
The fans expected the action to be quick in this one and that is exactly how things get started. Back to back missile dropkicks gets a near fall for Strickland. Icarus bails and Strickland is out after him dropping the Team FIST member with a chair shot across the back. Icarus stops Strickland with a running lariat in the corner and then takes the action to the floor. Both men tear up ringside. Icarus grabs a chair and brings it down on Strickland’s back. The bell sounds and just like his fellow Team FIST members earlier, Icarus drops the match via disqualification.
C & C Wrestle Factory (Caprice Coleman & Cedrick Alexander***) v. The Dynasty (Scorpio Sky & Joey Ryan)
Coleman trades moves with Sky for a few minutes before being joined by Alexander for a suplex/senton combo but C & C miss the C & C CONNECTION COMBO. Both teams are able to make tags and Coleman gets the advantage on Ryan and connects with an Asai Moonsault for a one count. Alexander gets into the match again with a Sky Fall Frog Splash for a near fall. Ryan is able to avoid a C & C CONNECTION COMBO. Sky is in and dominates against Coleman. Alexander is able to tag into the match but Sky maintains his advantage with an Argle Bargle. Sky hits the ACE OF SPADES. Ryan blocks the pin save but Alexander kicks out. Sky then connects with an ACE CRUSHER AND ROLL INTO DRAGON SLEEPER. Ryan already has Coleman dumped to the floor and Alexander cannot escape the hold.
Adam Cole ** w/Mia Yim v. Nick Madrid
Cole is out to solid heat and gets the upper hand immediately. A Corona Kick downs Madrid for a near fall. Madrid catches Cole on the top and a toss to the mat gives the fans something to cheer for. Madrid connects with a leg lariat and then RUNNING OF THE BULLS but Cole is able to get the shoulder up. It is all Madrid until Cole avoids a missile dropkick and nails him with a Corona Kick for a two count. Back and forth action follows and Madrid traps Cole in a Scorpio Death Lock but Cole makes the ropes. Madrid steps up his attack hits an implant DDT followed by Northern Lights Suplex. Madrid scrambles and hooks the leg for the three count. Both Cole and Yim are adamant that Cole had his shoulder up at three but the decision stands and Madrid has a big win.
Kimber Lee v. Saraya Knight
The pace at the outset of this one is quick. Knight gets the advantage and traps Lee in a BRIDLE ROCKING HORSE. Lee hangs in and battles back with chops and palm strikes. Knight gets the best of a brawl on the floor and goes for the submission with a KNIGHTMARE but again Lee is not finished. An impressive run by Knight includes side suplexes and DDTs. Lee barely avoids being counted out after a body slam on the floor. Knight keeps the pressure on and has just too many weapons on this occasion getting three count after a side suplex. Dominating win for one of England’s best.
Tim Donst ****, Shelton Benjamin & Robert Anthony v. The Legacy (Adam Pearce, Kyle O’Reilly *** & DJ Hyde)
Donst and Pearce work back and forth. Anthony is in after a defensive tag and Pearce counters a backdrop with a piledriver and then lands JUMPING PILEDRIVER. Anthony barely kicks out. Pearce applies a figure four leglock but Anthony makes the ropes. O’Reilly keeps the heat on Anthony with a GULLIOTINE CHOKE. Triple butterfly suplexes are impressive looking as are the following elbow strikes. Anthony goes into the ropes and on the rebound small packages O’Reilly for a near fall. Benjamin is in to a solid pop and battles O’Reilly who is able to make the tag to Hyde. Benjamin fails at a T-Bone suplex. Hyde strikes with a stunner followed by a SHADOW DRIVER. Benjamin kicks out of the cover. Scrap Iron covers after a Last Ride Lariat for a two count. Hangman’s Neckbreaker sends Benjamin to the floor and Pearce is out after him. Benjamin gets the upper hand outside. Donst tags in and crushes Pearce with DONSTITUTION for a near fall. Donst hits a second DONSTITUTION for another two count and then traps Pearce in a HYDRO LOCK. Pearce makes the ropes and then is able to catch Donst on the corner and tosses him to the mat. Hyde relieves Pearce and cracks Donst with a Summoning Lariat. Hyde is all over Donst including a running senton that sets up a powerbomb for a near fall. The action goes to the floor and Donst is able to send Hyde through a table with gut wrench suplex! The fans are chanting. Anthony hot tags in and back to back Ace Crushers have Hyde down and out. Hyde kicks out of the cover but Anthony follows with TACO PIZZA but cannot get the three count. Benjamin is fired up as he gains the ring and takes the fight outside but it is costly as Hyde gets the upper hand. O’Reilly is back into the match and nails a deathjump. O’Reilly cracks Benjamin with a chair at ringside and the fans are all over the referee. GUILLOTINE CHOKE and Benjamin makes the ropes. O’Reilly’s flying dropkick to seated opponent misses and Anthony tags in. It is back and forth. Donst tags in and catches O’Reilly flat out with a neck breaking clothesline in the corner. DONSTITIUTION but O’Reilly kicks out at the last second. The fans cannot believe it. O’Reilly counters an attempted Scorpion Leg Lock and Pearce is in gaining the advantage. Benjamin tags in and the fans explode at his back to back springboard clotheslines that send Pearce into the first row of fans. Pearce takes a tombstone but is able to counter out of a double leg spinebuster. Hyde is in and whips Benjamin into the corner several times and then nails a Cyclone Slam. Benjamin bails and Hyde is outside with a powerbomb onto the apron. The fans are all over Hyde as Benjamin is nearly counted out of the ring. Hyde is ready as Benjamin crawls under the ropes and crushes him with a SHADOWDRIVER for the three count. What a match.
Young Bucks (Nick Jackson & Matt Jackson) v. El Generico * & Bryan Danielson *
The fans are exhausted after the six man tag team war but give Danielson & Generico a solid ovation regardless. Danielson has a clear game plan to ground and pound and Nick Jackson has no response early on barely escaping a TRIANGLE CHOKE. Danielson moves to a CATTLE MUTILATION and Jackson makes the ropes. Danielson then goes back to the TRIANGLE CHOKE. Matt Jackson is in but Generico cuts him off. Jackson makes the ropes again forcing the break. Jackson flips out of an attempted German suplex and tags in his brother who puts Danielson to the mat with a sunset flip and follows with a MOONSAULT for a near fall. It is back and forth from this point. We get some great double team spots from the Bucks. The American Dragon and Matt Jackson trade whips into the corner and Jackson catches Danielson with a running lariat. However, Jackson’s follow up MOONSAULT misses the mark. Both teams are able to get tags. Nick Jackson and El Generico each go for a clothesline and both men crash to the mat. Jackson is on his feet first and MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK follows but does give the Bucks the win. Generico gets the best of a brawl on the floor and then lands the spaceman moonsault and Spike Brainbuster. Danielson mixes it up with both Bucks and then gives the momentum back to his partner. The Bucks get the upper hand with some double teaming on Generico leading to MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK for a near fall. Danielson is able to get back into the match and even things out. The Bucks again double team including a springboard spike tombstone on Danielson for a near fall. Nick Jackson nails a 450 SPLASH for a two count on Danielson before a superkick gets another two count. It is all Matt Jackson over Danielson including deathjumps and x-factors. A suicide plancha spills the action into the fans. Danielson gets the best of a brawl at ringside with series of forearms. Generico is in and dominates including a tombstone piledriver and spaceman moonsault. Nick Jackson gets the tag and clothesline Generico nearly out of his boots in the corner. The Bucks follow with a springboard spike tombstone and a buckle bomb into double knees. Generico is in a heap of trouble and rolls to the floor. Outside, Nick Jackson grabs a chair and cracks his masked opponent with it. The bell sounds and the night ends with a disqualification. The fans are jeering and chanting profanities at the Bucks.
