Inspire Pro tag team championship as champions, the
Beaver Boys defend against the
Young Bucks and the
Fighting Taylor Boyz in a
Triple Threat Match. With the 1st team to score a pinfall or submission, there was a lot of pins and submission attempts broken up.
Some match highlights include Ryan Taylor breaking out his rare ROUNDHOUSE KICK/DISCUS ELBOW COMBO on Alex Reynolds before Matt Jackson makes the save. The Young Bucks drop Ryan Taylor with double superkicks but Chuck Taylor makes the save. The Beaver Boys hit DOUBLE PENETRATION on Chuck Taylor and Nick Jackson but both times Ryan Taylor makes the save. Finally, with both members of the Beaver Boys on the floor, the Bucks hit Ryan Taylor with MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK.
However, the Beaver Boys toss the Bucks to the floor where they take out Chuck Taylor before hitting DOUBLE PENETRATION on Ryan for the finish. The Beaver Boys retain their titles for the 3rd time.
--Up next is the 1st installment of the
Team Veda vs
Dark Menace feud of the night as
Rex Havoc faces
Michael Kai Rayne. Rex dominates the early portions of the match, nearly winning with two KILL PREYS over the span of 5-minutes. However, Dark Menace would make his presence known to turn the tide. Rayne hits an awesome Piledriver coming off the ropes as Rex attempted a back body drop to set up a Sun Setter Kick to give MK Rayne his first IP singles win.
....Pinkie Sanchez is shown giving Ricky Starks a pep talk backstage....Silas Young is pacing back and forth....Cedric Alexander is shown talking on his iPhone....Angelus Layne is screaming like a banshee and Barbi Hayden shows her calm as she flashes the Peace sign....Tommy End is shown meditating while Steve O'Reno is talking strategy with Steve Corino....Yes, the 'Reach For The Heavens' Ladder Match is next....--Back from the break, all the competitors for the
'RFTH' match are in the ring. The action was fast and furious as the rivals squared off against each other.
Tommy End tried to take advantage and end the match early as he scaled the ladder, only to be pushed off by
Silas Young and
Cedric Alexander. Silas and Cedric beat each other to a pulp during the entire match with neither man gaining enough significant advantage to climb the ladder uncontested. Cedric hits Silas with the KICK TO KILL PART II and drops Silas to the arena floor.
Angelus Layne and
Barbi Hayden continue their hostilities towards one another that sees the ladies duo out brawl their male counterparts as they take turns posting one another, choking the other with TV cables at ringside. However, Barbi would need medical attention after Angelus drives her through a table at ringside causing Barbi to hit her head on the security railing.
Ricky Starks and
Steve O'Reno squared off with Ricky winning most of the exchanges. Ricky had several opportunities to climb the ladder but his hesitation allowed someone to prevent him from getting to the top. Ricky refused to climb the ladder and sat on the top turnbuckle as the action unfolded around him.
Cedric and Tommy faced up to each other in a great encounter as they rocked each other with knife-edge and open hand chops as the crowd
'WOOOO'd' each exchange. Tommy went for a Roundhouse High Kick on Cedric but Silas Young launched himself, striking the duo with a 'big man' suicide dive causing the trio to tumble to the floor.
Ricky is still sitting on the turnbuckle as Angelus Layne and Steve O'Reno square off. At first, Steve parried Angelus' moves untilshe caught him with a head butt that dazed O'Reno. He went after her and put her down with a Blue Thunder Bomb but it wasn't enough for Angelus to prevent Steve from reaching the contract perched above the ring. Angelus tilts the ladder causing Steve to crash to the canvas and roll to the floor.
Angelus rights the ladder as
Pinkie Sanchez comes to ringside and tries to start
'Yes, You Can' chants for Ricky Starks. Angelus starts climbing the ladder before Ricky gets up his nerve, leaping off the turnbuckle, and catching Angelus with a top rope missile dropkick that sends her crashing to the arena floor.
Ricky hesitates as the 'Yes, You Can' chants start getting louder and louder. Ricky gets his nerve up, hesitantly scales the ladder as the chants are now blowing the roof off the building. Finally, Ricky reaches the top, grabbing the title contract to win the ladder match as the place comes unglued!!
In one match, Ricky Starks has gone from hated, cocky heel to beloved underdog as the 'Yes, You Can' chants continue as we go to commercial.
....Dark Menace is out when we come back from the break....Menace says he's winning his feud with Veda Scott as if there was any doubt....But one thing has eluded him and that's the IP tag titles....He says things need to be shaken up in DMF....He announces that he's not renewing his contracts with Benett Cole, Rocky Reynolds, or Michael Kai Rayne....He thanks them for their contributions to DMF but it's time to move on....However, he has signed a tag team that he guarantees will bring tag team glory to DMF....the FOREVER HOOLIGANS....and they will debut next week....--Speaking of
Dark Menace, he stays out as
'Dirty' Andy Dalton defends the
Inspire Pro Championship against
Raymond Rowe. Andy Dalton showed why he was the champ as he took Rowe to school over the majority of the match. Dalton gets nearfalls after hitting Rowe with Die B**tch and the PILEDRIVER.
Raymond gets back into it after catching Dalton with a kick to the head coming off the ropes. Raymond gets some solid offense in, cumulating in DEATH ROWE for a nearfall. The match spills to the floor where Menace distracts Rowe allowing Dalton to post his challenger. That seems to have hurt Rowe as several minutes later, Dalton hits another PILEDRIVER for the finish. Dalton retains the title for the 2nd time.
--We get a run down on our next match from Brandon and Eamon as the
Inner City Machine Guns battle the
Bravado Brothers. This match is what you would expect from these two great teams, however, the ending is marred in controversy.
The match spills to the floor where
Excalibur/Joey Ryan get involved. Ryan sucker punches Ricochet with what appears to be brass knuckles. The Bravados toss Ricochet back in the ring where they hit GENTELMEN'S AGREEMENT to steal the win.
Afterwards, Rich Swann questions Excalibur about what happened but meets the same fate as Ricochet before we go to a backstage segment.
....Backstage, AJ Styles is talking to Rhino when Andy Dalton walks by....Dalton says something to Styles that the camera does not pick up....AJ tell Dalton that he's got a signed contract to face Dalton for the title in two weeks when he beats Lance Hoyt tonight....Dalton walks away with a scowl on his face as we go to commercial....--We come back from the break for our
Main Event!
Brandon Stroud does ring introductions and goes over the stipulations one more time. If
AJ Styles wins, then
Lance Hoyt joins the
Bullet Club as a Pledge. If Lance wins, then AJ leaves
Inspire Pro immediately.
It's obvious Lance was geared up for this match as he pound son AJ from the opening bell. Lance posts AJ early on causing AJ to wear the
'crimson mask'. However, AJ is still in the match as he kicks out of several Hoyt pinfall attempts.
Rhino is out for AJ but as
Cedric Alexander and
Silas Young come out, they bicker about who should be out there to back Lance up.
The bickering becomes a full-on brawl as Lance has to stop it from escalating and once again, Lance catches an errant right hand from Cedric. This allows AJ back in the match and now, he's poised to end the match with the STYLES CLASH. However, Lance powers out of the move and goes back on the offensive.
Rhino catches Cedric and Silas going at each other one more time and GORES!! Cedric into the security railing. At the same time, Lance hoists AJ up for BLACKOUT when Silas slides into the ring and blasts Lance with a steel chair! Silas helps AJ haul Lance up for the STYLES CLASH and Lance becomes a BC Pledge!!
....With Lance still down, AJ hands Silas a Bullet Club shirt....Silas kneels and tells the downed Lance Hoyt, that he was tired of the repeated refusals to tag with him....The repeated refusals to help Lance against the Bullet Club....Instead, he enlisted the help of Davey Boy Smith, Jr instead of him....Well, now, Lance has no choice but to team with Silas or he's going to be beaten to a bloody pulp....
....Fade....
