Congratulations on the acquisition of Antonio Inoki!
Really looking forward to the tournament to decide your first Tag Team champions... I'll be rooting for the Midnight Express, but they've got a tough road ahead of them... Can't wait!

HBWA News Report 28.07
Recently crowned HBWA tag Team Champions The Vachons have issued an open challenge for this week's Friday Night:Live! TV taping. The Vachons recently won an 8 team tournament to crown the new tag champs, defeating "The British Invasion" Dave Taylor & Nigel McGuinness in the final. Sources close to the locker room say that 'Leaping' Lanny Poffo and his on/off tag partner Jim Powers have accepted the challenge and will appear in the HBWA arena this coming Friday! Watch out, the belts could be changing hands quicker than we thought!
The Vachons mean business!
(New tag champs: Butcher and Mad Dog)
Bruiser Brody continues to have problems with Captain Lou Albano! Even after the good captain insisted he was an innocent party and had nothing to do with Brody's inability to escape from a locked changing room at a recent TV taping, Brody exacted revenge anyway by decimating The Valiant Brothers before they reached the ring at the recent tag tournament, contributing to their first round loss at the hands of The Killer Bees. Albano responded by filing a lawsuit against Brody, who is currently suspended from active competition as a result. How will Brody react? Will he be at ringside this Friday as Albano escorts 'Handsome' Jimmy Valiant to ringside for his one on one match with the enigmatic Tiger Mask?
(Surely it will be Albano praying when Brody gets his hands on him!)
World Heavyweight Champion 'Handsome' Harley Race awaits his next challenger for his title, and that challenge won't be far away as a Number One contender will be determined on Friday as former champion Rob Van Dam takes on Mexican Legend Mil Mascaras! What a match that promises to be!
(Nest World Champion? Not if RVD has anything to do about it!)
Television Champion Terry Gordy, fresh off of beating visiting competitor Antonio Inoki in a 5 star encounter will again be tested when he takes on The Patriot. The Patriot has had his hands full in recent weeks with 'Exotic' Adrian Street. Will the flamboyant coal miner's son be on hand to 'distract' the All American hero once more?!
(Terry Gordy: not a man to be messed with!)
Plus! We will see Greg 'The Hammer' Valentine go toe to toe with Jumpin' Jim Brunzell, Nigel McGuinness take on The Belgian Brawler and the whacky Mr X will be in action as part of the new tag team; 'The Jailhouse Rockers' teaming with...er...a wooden chair!
(Ready for action? Mr X's latest tag partner...)
More news soon from the HBWA Hot Desk!

HBWA PRESENTS: FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE!
Dark Match
'Goodtime' George South V Johnny Rodz
The New York native Johnny Rodz destroyed South is this very one sided encounter. South managed to mount zero offence and was beaten by a flying cross body block. That's right, a body block! Winner: Johnny Rodz
Belgian Brawler v Nigel McGuinness (w/Adrian Street)
The 'Exotic One' introduced the crowd to Nigel McGuinness, the London punk. Despite both competitors being currently undefeated in the HBWA, McGuinness destroyed the lowlander in a matter of minutes, finishing him off with the London Dungeon. Post match, Adrian Street entered the ring and slapped the Belgian before applying lipstick to the beaten man. McGuinness and Street celebrated as the crowd booed.
Main Show
The show begins with HBWA Heavyweight champion 'Handsome' Harley Race being interviewed; "I've beaten RVD and with all due respect, he's out of my league. He was a paper champion and now the whole of the HBWA knows I am the real deal. Tonight, I'm going to be at ringside as Rob Van Dam takes on Mil Mascaras for the Number 1 contender match. I don't care who wins, I'm ready for either man...."
Match 1 Greg Valentine V 'Jumpin' Jim Brunzell
'The Hammer' has been having difficulties as of late in the HBWA and is on some impressive losing streak. Valentine batters Brunzell from the get go, downing him with vicious elbows, heavy hands and a series of stiff body slams. Brunzell rolls from the ring, but the assualt continues on the outside. Brunzell is thrown into the guard rails and is busted open with a clenched fist. Valentine goes for the kill, but is momentarily stunned with a dropkick. Brunzell rallies, but is sent hard into the turnbuckle and straight into another elbow. Valentine send the Killer Bee into the corner again, but Brunzell moves out of the way and rolls up the stunned Valentine for a surprise 1-2-3! Valentine loses again! Brunzell exists the ring as the crowd cheer. Valentine remains in the centre of the ring, on his haunches, completely stunned. Valentine hammers his fists onto the apron in disbelief before leaving the ring and grabbing a chair, launching it into the guard rail. Grabbing a mic, Valentine proclaimed; "That's it! I am sick of this, sick of being cheated out of victories, sick of each and every on of YOU! If I don't get justice next week, I QUIT!" Winner: Jim Brunzell
Match 2 Mad Dog & Butcher Vachon v 'Leaping' Lanny Poffo and 'Jim Powers (HBWA TAG TEAM TITLE)
The champs are here! Are the crowd pleased to see them? Not particularly, but here we go! 'Mad Dog' and 'Butcher' brutalise the young duo with a series of vicious double team moves, Mad Dog biting Power's forehaead and tosses him from the ring. Powers makes a hot tag to Poffo who hits a wicked drop kick and goes up top for his finisher, Butcher throws him from the turnbuckle, allowing his brother to recover. The champions continue to control the match and despite a late rally from Powers, win after Mad Dog hits the Mad Dog Pounce on Powers. Poffo's attempt to break the pin seems half hearted and it's all over. After the match, as the champions celebrate, Poffo goes to check on Powers, but as he pulls him to his feet, he hits him with a stiff clothesline, before exiting the ring... Winners: The Vachons
Match 3 'Handsome' Jimmy Valiant (w/Captain Lou Albano) V Tiger Mask
Albano is on the mic; "Heeyyyy!! That madman Bruiser Brody has been suspended by the HBWA. About time! He's been making my life and your lives hell! What a dumb guy! He's a goner! And tonight, my maaannnnn! Handsome Jimmy Valiant is here to entertain you!!!!" Tiger Mask is quick to take the advantage, his superior agility bamboozling Valiant, flipping around the ring like an ageing, dry old pancake. The crowd are in awe of everything the Japanese sensation does. Tiger Mask springs from the ropes, but has his ankle clipped by Albano and loses his footing, coming into contact with a big Super Elbow from Handsome Jimmy. Valiant goes for the cover and it's all over! What a shock! Winner: 'Handsome' Jimmy Valiant
Before the next match, 'Exotic' Adrian Street is backstage being interviewed. he is flanked by Dave Taylor and Nigel McGuinness. "Look at my face. I'm as pretty as a picture and twice as handsome than any of you Yankee Doodle dandies out there. With me, the beautiful Miss Linda and the quite frighteningly brutish British Invasion are here to make all of your lives an absolute misery and I can't wait to see that jumped up G.I Joe The Patriot have has mask put out of place by Terry Gordy. I'm positively squirming with excitement!
Match 4 The Patriot V Terry Gordy (HBWA TV Champion)
The Patriot has the crowd on their feet as he enters the ring to 'America the Beautiful' but is stopped in his tracks as he steps through the ropes. 'Bamm Bamm' smashes the US hero from turnbuckle to turnbuckle, not allowing him a moment to recover. The Patriot can't get going at all and is downed by a Bamm Bamm Slam and a big spike piledriver. Gordy hits the powerbomb and goes for the cover, but pulls his opponent up at the two count. Sending The Patriot into the ropes, he slaps on a sleeper and it's lights out. Gordy is simply devastating! Street will be squirming indeed..... Winner: Terry Gordy
Match 5 Rob Van Dam V Mil Mascaras (#1 Contender match)
Both competitors begin the match by posing for the crowd. RVD points, reminding everyone he's the 'whole f*in show!" Mascaras seems fired up as he flies around the ring, hitting some high impact moves. RVD escapes the Octopus hold and downs Mascaras with a spin kick. The fight spills to the outside and Mascaras is thrown to the guardrail, RVD drops a leg across Mascaras and the masked man is in pain. RVD is looking for that title shot and doesn't let up on his high impact offence. A series of punches and kicks bring Mascaras to the mat and RVD hits a stunning Rolling Thunder, much to the fan's delight. Mascaras is out at two. RVD ground mascaras again and scales the turnbuckle, aiming to hit the Five Star frog splash. The tip toeing Mexican springs to his light fight and tips RVD into the ring. Trapping RVD in the Octopus Hold once more, VD is in trouble, but makes it to the ropes. Mascaras with a big body slam and it's his turn to go up top. RVD struggles to his feet and is stunned by a Flying cross body. Mascaras hooks the leg and it's all over! Winner: Mil Mascaras
Mascaras helps RVD to his feet and offers a hand. RVD, clutching his chest, grudgingly accepts and the two foes show each other respect by raising each other's hands. Mascaras celebrates as we go off the air....

Superb victory by Mascaras... And a classy move by shaking his opponent's hand in a true sign of respect... Even though I was hoping for RVD, Mil should be an exceptional challenge for Race... Very solid action... Enjoyed the show!

Hi folks! Ellen and I have ran 8 cards for FPW & HBWA over the last week, so I have a lot of catching up to do with the write ups!
Some intense action though and a fantastic series of matches between Rick Rude & William Muldoon have been the highlight for me whilst Bruiser Brody faced off against the Dream Team & Captain Lou Albano in a 3 on 1 match!
Jim Powers and Lanny Poffo still remain to be terrible in HBWA, whilst over in FPW, Buddy Rogers and Justin Credible have put Frank Gotch on the shelf for a number of weeks after a brutal post match attack! Credible is making a name for himself for being a bit of a d*ck, turning on this tag partner 'The Bard' Armstrong and refusing to dress up in his medieval ring attire! Armstrong and Credible's Singapore Cane match was a classic!
The Patriot has scored an upset win over HBWA champ Harley Race, surprising him with a sunset flip, Greg Valentine invaded FPW and beat Muldoon to end his dire winning streak and then went on to have trouble against Jake Milliman before eventually putting him away with the figure 4, Savage-T put up a brave fight against Terry Gordy before being demolished in the latter stages, FPW Heavyweight Champ Nick Bockwinkel has flattened Brad Armstrong and Johnny Saint, The Terrible Turk clumsily lost to JD Michaels the week after he won a 2 on 1 match to give Michaels his first win in 6 attempts. FPW's 'tag champs in waiting' The Chests (Mike Graham & Bob Armstrong) are pushing Londrik for the gold....will they be successful? Will we see their manly, hairy chests on the giant screen? Will somebody else join The Chests to make them even more dastardly....? Who knows?! (Well, I do....and will write up over the weekend.)
CHEST CHEST CHEST!

So the HBWA and FPW territories are now some 30 odd cards old and things are ticking along really nicely. There have been a few roster changes, but the core of each fed is still pretty much the same.
I've really enjoyed rolling, writing and statting up this fed recently some am going to recommence writing up the results on here if anybody is interested?
First...a bit of an update:

H.B.W.A commissioner/owner Joe Maddox decided to move the entire promotion to the United Kingdom, so he could be closer to his family, cats and his beloved Tottenham Hotspur. The entire roster moved over on temporary worker status and were joined by British based talent Johnny Saint, Fit Finlay, Zack Sabre Jr. and Dave Taylor.
H.B.W.A runs two shows; H.B.W.A Grapple time and it's flagship show, Friday Night:Live!
H.B.W.A currently has three championships; the World Heavyweight Championship is currently held by Nigel McGuinness who beat Harley Race for the title in London on October 23rd. Despite being a despised heel whilst the promotion was based in the U.S, McGuinness is a celebrated hero in the U.K, which has made his alliance with 'Exotic' Adrian Street an uneasy one as Street remains hated in the Isles. McGuinness is still feuding with Race, but is also keeping a watchful eye out for the wicked Iron Sheik who has defeated him in both singles and tag competition.
Rob Van Dam continues to hold the Television Title, a title he has held from it's inception. Van Dam has feuded with Terry Gordy, Greg Valentine, Adrian Street and 'Leaping' Lanny Poffo over the past few months. Van Dam was also the very first H.B.W.A World Champion.
The tag belts are held by The Midnight Express ('Beautiful' Bobby Eaton and 'Sweet' Stan Lane.) The Midnights are managed by Jim Cornette and won the belt from Lanny Poffo and Jim Powers who held the belt for approximately one week after the upset the previous champions The Vachons. The Midnights are currently in a war with The Killer Bees who became #1 contenders after beating The Vachons in an eliminator.
Other talent on the roster includes Hillbilly Jim who was traded with Tiger Mask who went to F.P.W, 'Ravishing' Randy Rose, Bruiser Brody, S.D Jones (who hold back to back victories over Terry Gordy), Koko B. Ware, The Patriot, 'Party' Marty Jannetty, Johnny Rodz, George South, Mr X and Jake Milliman.
One star who decided not to make the full time move to the U.K was Mil Mascaras who remains part of the company, but is now an 'International attraction'.
I'll start reporting new events this week as well as a brand new thread for the rather exciting F.P.W!
Thanks
Joe

F.P.W (Fist Pump Wrestling) prides itself on the depth of its tag roster and boasts a very competitive tag division as well as World and 'Gladiator' champions.
it runs two shows a week; 'Midweek Mayhem' and it's flagship show, Friday Night Fist!
The current World Champion is Nick Bockwinkel who captured the belt for the second time from 'Ravishing' Rick Rude. Rude has proved to be a dominating champion, first by defeating Bockwinkel for the title in back to back matches and then running through all the top talent in the fed including Buddy Rogers, Frank Gotch, William Muldoon and Jim Londos. Londos himself won a grueling 16 man tournament to become the #1 contender, but was dispatched by Rude with ease.
Things aren't so easy for Bockwinkel though. En route to the title, he defeated a furious Frank Gotch who was disqualified after a brutal ringside brawl. Gotch wants revenge and beat down Bockwinkel as he celebrated his title victory. Things spiced up further when Rude regained his composure and beat Bockwinkel as well. Company blue eye Jim Londos came to Bockwinkel's aide and the foursome will be squaring off in tag action in the near future!
Elsewhere, William Muldoon has a regular spot facing travelling talent. Muldoon has fought Ed 'Strangler' Lewis, Matt Cross, John Tolos, George Hackenschmidt and many others to varying degrees of success. What the 'Solid Man' really wants though is a challenge for Bockwinkel's strap. Will he get it?
The tag title has been dominated by three teams; current champions The Kats (Jushin 'Thunder Liger', Battle Kat & Tiger Mask), cocky heel teem The Chests (Mike Graham & Bob Armstrong) and Brian Kendrick & Paul London. There's also challenges from The Colony, The Spoiler & The Grappler, Volstead & Sheppard and a new (and ironic) team, The Cauliflower Alley 'Kids' (Ron Hutchison, Frank Dalton and Bruiser 'The Body' Costa.) The Kats unappointed leader is Battle Kat who, although he wasn't involved in the match against The Chests that saw The Kats win the title, seems to think that it was all his doing and proudly proclaims that he is the tag team champion! What a guy!
F.P.W's 'Face Of F.P DUB' is none other than Brad Armstrong who is the current F.P.W Gladiator Champion, which he won after a 16 man tournament decided the first recipient. Things have been tough for young Brad though. Despite victories Nick Bockwinkel and Val Venis, he's also recently been covered by Larry Sharpe! He faces further competition from The Terrible Turk, J.D Michaels and Bruiser Costa who is determined to hit his 'Hot Coffee' finisher and burn the pretty face of Brad!
Both territories are alive and well! I hope you will look forward to detailed match updates real soon!
Joe & Ellen
