can't wait to see all of it. the new Horsemen could be the group to beat. You could well be right. They have the U.S. Champion in Kevin Steen, the #1 contender to the World Title in AJ Styles, and the ever dangerous Slate Randall Eli Drake Shaun Ricker. Add to that Ric Flair as a manager willing to get dirty to help his charges, and they could definitely be a force to reckon with in NWA: Purity!

In the wake of his fellow NWA E.P.I.C. Promoters releasing their roster, the NWA: Chikara Director of Fun has issued the following statement:
Hello fans, this is Mike Quackenbush, founder and current leader of Chikara Pro.
That's right, I said Chikara Pro. Yes, it's true that we have entered into a business and limited talent-sharing partnership with other promoters under the banner of the National Wrestling Alliance, but we're not changing our name or or business model due to the pressure of a couple suits. We are going to stay loyal to you, the fans, who have stuck with us through thick and thin, through good times and bad...if this sounds like someone's wedding vows, maybe that's a good thing. Because Chikara has always been about a partnership between us, the wrestlers, and you, the fans. And make no mistake...it is an equal partnership, or possibly even a partnership where YOU are the more important partner.
At this time, we are still finalizing our roster of contracted wrestlers, but I can guarantee that you will still see favorites like the Colony, the Spectral Envoy, and reigning Campeonatos de Parejas, Los Ice Creams, along with groups like the Wrecking Crew who we simply could not, in good conscience, release onto some other promotion when they are a problem we created, or allowed to be created. Sidney Bakabella and his charges are our nightmare--yours and mine--and WE will deal with them.
As you have probably seen, Brodie Lee has agreed to terms with another faction under the NWA banner. We have no hard feelings towards the Big Rig; we wish him well in his new environment and look forward to working with him at some point in the future, if that's in the cards. However, that leaves us with the issue of the Grand Championship which must be addressed. We will continue to recognize Brodie Lee as the Grand Champion until our next show: Saturday Night Fever in South Windsor, Connecticut on July 25th. At that show, we will officially strip Brodie Lee of the title, and kick off the second ever 12 Large Summit (The Other Foot). The winner of that tournament will be crowned the new, undisputed Grand Champion of Chikara Pro.
I also wanted to be the first person to bring this exciting news. As some of you may recall, the Batiri had earned three points towards contention for the Campeonatos de Parejas. We have worked with our new partners, and arranged for Kodama and Obariyon to cash in those three points for a shot at the NWA World Tag Team Championship! That match will air live on the NWA: Evolution television program on July 3rd.
That's all for now, Chikarmy. Thank you for your continued support, and we'll see you in South Windsor in a few short weeks!

Plenty of great things on the horizon for Chikara Pro, as they enter a whole new era...
Very excited for the 12 Large Summit (knowing VERY little about Chikara, I'm not even sure how this tournament works) and the crowning of a new Grand Champion...
And the news about The Batiri? HOLY SNAP! They are one of my favorite Indy tag teams... What an amazing opportunity and I really hope they manage to capture the NWA World Tag Team Championship...
This is a truly awesome fed you've got going... Looking forward to a long and prosperous future!

Three of the four promotions operating under the National Wrestling Alliance Banner have announced their intentions to crown promotion-specific singles champions in addition to those titles sanctioned by the NWA as a whole.
Nigel McGuinness of NWA: Purity has announced that his group will be crowning the NWA Pure Champion, and has released the names of the eight men who will be in immediate contention for that title: Claudio Castagnoli, Jay Lethal, Austin Aries, Drew Galloway, Shaun Ricker, Adam Cole, Christopher Daniels, and Michael Elgin.
NWA: Intensity's leader DJ Hyde has indicated that he will sanction the NWA Intense Championship in an eight-man tournament in the near future. The wrestlers selected for the tournament include Alex Colon, Danny Havoc, Eddie Kingston, Ethan Page, Matt Cross, Rob Van Dam, Jon Davis, and Hyde, himself.
Dave Marquez's NWA: Evolution group will crown the NWA Evolve Champion, also in an eight-man tournament featuring Joey Ryan, Cedric Alexander, AR Fox, Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Chris Hero, Justin Gabriel, and Roderick Strong.
There has been no official word from Mike Quackenbush, but all indications are that NWA: Chikara will continue to sanction their own Grand Champion as well as Tag Team Champions in the Campeonatos de Parejas.

The Batiri are a favorite of mine, so I will secretly be pulling for them, as well. The LOW cards for Black and Moxley are tough, however, so it will be a real war. (Now watch, because I said that, the match will be over with a roll of snake eyes in four moves.)
The 12 Large Summit is essentially a pair of six-man round robin tournaments, with the winners of each block squaring off in the finals. You can find more information on the original tournament right here: LINKY
As always, thanks for your comments! I can't wait to kick off the action on July 3rd!

Really looking forward to the crowning of the individual champions... Gonna be some 5-star matches among those groups, I'm guessing...
My predictions are that Galloway, Havoc and Gargano ultimately come out on top in their respective companies...
Thanks for the info re. the 12 Large Summit... Sounds like a fun event to run... May have to give one a try in the future... Thanks for sharing!

With the first show of the NWA E.P.I.C. era just days away, bootleg footage of a rare afternoon card filmed in Macon, Georgia began to make its way around the Internet. This was a previously booked show that could not be cancelled at the last minute. The footage was grainy, and cut out in places, but it is the last show of the National Wrestling Alliance as it existed through June 2015.
Rob Van Dam vs. Jushin Liger
This match never got underway. As the two men were shaking hands, Scorpio Sky’s flunky Orange Cassidy came tearing down the aisle, slid into the ring, and attacked RVD. Liger was unsure what to do, but only for a moment, as his hated rival AJ Styles soon followed suit, attacking the Japanese legend. The referee waived off the match and ordered it restarted as a tag team contest!
Rob Van Dam & Jushin Liger vs. Orange Cassidy & AJ Styles
Van Dam and Liger displayed much better chemistry than Cassidy and Styles, taking the fight to their opponents and isolating Cassidy in their corner for quite a beating. The match turned around when Styles was able to tag into the ring, as he planted Liger with a springboard inverted DDT for a two-count before inexplicably tagging the exhausted Cassidy back into the ring. Styles rolled to the floor, pointed at his partner, and declared “You suck!” before making his way to the back. Cassidy got in a little offense on the staggered Liger, who somersaulted into his corner to make the hot tag to RVD. Van Dam dominated Cassidy before finally putting him away with his FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH.
WINNERS: Rob Van Dam & Jushin Liger via pinfall (15:41)
The Playa’s Club (with Maria Kanellis & Seleziya Sparx) vs. Drew Gulak & Timothy Thatcher
Gulak and Thatcher went right on the offensive, dragging Ethan Page to their corner and absolutely stretching him with submission hold after submission hold. At one point, he tapped out to the UNIVERSITY STRETCH, but Seleziya Sparx was on the apron distracting referee Todd Sinclair, who never saw the submission. As Gulak argued with Sinclair, Page finally managed to make it to his corner for a desperately-needed tag. The fresh Michael Bennett was able to overpower Gulak, who quickly tagged in Thatcher. The man from Sacramento fared little better, taking a series of three consecutive piledrivers before finally going down in defeat.
WINNERS: The Playa’s Club via pinfall (20:41)
Trent Barreta vs. Michael Kai Rayne (with So Cal Val)
Barretta was dominant in this match, until So Cal Val interjected herself, luring him over to the ring ropes and hitting him with a low blow. As referee Shane Sewell was admonishing her, Rayne hit a picture perfect crescent kick and rolled Barreta up for the pinfall.
WINNER: Michael Kai Rayne via pinfall (8:17)
Delirious (with Truth Martini) vs. El Generico
This was a disappointing match, as a little over two minutes in, Delirious sprayed RED POISON into Generico’s face, drawing an immediate DQ.
WINNER: El Generico via disqualification (2:42)
Mikey O’Shea vs. Joey Ryan
Another disappointing match, as O’Shea dominated his much smaller opponent, who resorted to an illegal chair shot to save himself—and cost himself the match.
WINNER: Mikey O’Shea via disqualification (3:47)
The Briscoe Brothers vs. The Young Bucks
The Bucks were definitely off a step in this match, as they were dissected by the Briscoes, who took an easy win when Mark pinned Matt Jackson after a DOOMSDAY DEVICE.
WINNERS: The Briscoe Brothers via pinfall (6:11)
NWA World Television Championship Match: Shelton Benjamin (c) vs. Austin Aries
While this match was quick, it more than made up for the string of DQ’s and squashes. Aries came out strong and hit a BRAINBUSTER for a two-count at the one-minute mark. Aries continued to work over Benjamin’s neck, setting him up for a LAST CHANCERY, though Benjamin managed to reach the ropes. Fighting his way to his feet, Benjamin dazed Aries with a thumb to the eye, then suplexed him all around the ring before hitting his PAYDIRT for a two count. Another immediate PAYDIRT saw Aries get his foot on the ropes to break up the pinfall. One more PAYDIRT knocked Aries senseless…but he still managed to kick out just before three. As Benjamin argued with the official about the pace of his count, Aries grabbed him from behind, and Benjamin brought his leg up with a mule kick to the groin. Aries went down hard, and Benjamin hit one more PAYDIRT for good measure before putting Aries away.
WINNER and still NWA World Television Champion: Shelton Benjamin via pinfall (6:02)
Cheerleader Melissa & Women’s Champion Sara Del Rey vs. Jessicka Havok & MsChif
This was a hard-hitting contest between two rival duos…unfortunately the footage cut out during the match and resumed just in time to see Melissa plant Havok with a KUDOH DRIVER for the pinfall.
WINNERS: Cheerleader Melissa & Sara Del Rey via pinfall (7:22)
Justin Gabriel vs. Cedric the Hitman (with Stu Stone)
This match had barely started when Gabriel reminded everyone how much he hated Cedric by slamming the man’s own briefcase into his forehead. Referee Todd Sinclair called for the bell immediately.
WINNER: Cedric the Hitman via disqualification (1:49)
Post-Match Drama
After the bell sounded, Stu Stone jumped up onto the apron and tossed powder into Gabriel’s eyes. Cedric shook off the cobwebs and attacked Gabriel, setting up his dented briefcase and hitting Gabriel with a DDT onto the foreign object. World Champion Colt Cabana rushed out to chase away the rulebreakers, but Gabriel was clearly hurt, and Cabana had to help him walk to the back.
Jay Lethal vs. Matt Taven (with AJ Lee & Scarlett Bordeaux)
These two attacked each other with a ferocity that belied their lack of association up until this point. After trading blow for blow and move for move, Taven began to gradually wear away at Lethal’s defenses and take the upper hand. An ARM TRAP HEADLOCK DRIVER put Lethal away for the 1-2-3.
WINNER: Matt Taven via pinfall (6:29)
NWA United States Championship Match: Kevin Steen (with Ric Flair) (c) vs. Roderick Strong
Steen came out of the gates like a house afire, crushing his challenger with a quick F-Cinq, then locking on a Sharpshooter. Strong struggled to reach the ropes, but managed to grab the edge of the ring and pull Steen over, breaking the hold. The two exchanged punches and kicks, then Strong ducked under a clothesline and hit a SICK KICK out of nowhere for a two-count. Strong began working over Steen’s back, setting him up for a STRONG HOLD, though Steen refused to tap out. He tried dragging himself to the ropes, but Strong pulled him back to the center of the ring, and Steen still refused to submit. Pushing himself up, he managed to break the hold on his own. Strong went for another SICK KICK but Steen sidestepped him and kicked him in the stomach. A PACKAGE PILEDRIVER knocked Strong for a loop, but he incredibly kicked out at two. Steen showed off with a somersault leg drop, and Strong rolled to the floor. When Steen followed, Strong leveled him with his own championship belt, but referee Charles Robinson witnessed it and called for the bell—disappointing the crowd and ending an otherwise stellar match.
WINNER and still NWA United States Champion: Kevin Steen

NWA: Evoluttion Hollywood, California July 3, 2015 James Morgan (with Stu Stone) vs. Tommaso CiampaAn initial flurry by Morgan was all for naught, as he telegraphed a back body drop and ate a kick to the face by Ciampa. The Sicilian Psychopath really turned on the offense, obliterating Morgan with a series of forearms and a wicked neckbreaker. Ciampa made the mistake of celebrating, allowing Morgan to sneak up from behind and plant him with a German suplex that dropped CIampa directly on his shoulder. Morgan quickly clamped on his CLOSING TIME, and the wounded Ciampa was forced to submit. WINNER: James Morgan via submission (3:47) Post-Match DramaAs Stu Stone led his charge to the back, Roderick Strong came charging down the aisle. He slid into the ring and began laying into Ciampa's shoulder with kicks and stomps. Several referees rushed out to order Strong to the back, but as he was leaving the ring, Ciampa grabbed the house microphone and challenged Strong to a match on next week's show! The Bravado Brothers vs. Drew Gulak & Timothy ThatcherAfter a few lightning tags by both teams, the Bravados managed to settle into a rhythm, isolating Drew Gulak in their half of the ring and working him over with their trademark double-team offense. Gulak absorbed both a Tiger Driver and a DEADLIFT GERMAN SUPLEX, but managed to kick out of each cover. After a miscommunication led to a collision between the Bravado Brothers, Gulak was able to make the hot tag to his partner. Thatcher came in and took the fight to both Bravados, working them over with joint locks and a sick rope-hung Ace Crusher on Lancelot. With Lancelot in big trouble, Thatcher tagged in his recovered partner, who locked on the UNIVERSITY STRETCH for the submission victory. WINNERS: Drew Gulak & Timothy Thatcher via submission (13:58) Roderick Strong (with Truth Martini) vs. Justin GabrielJustin Gabriel started out hot, but after referee Brian Hebner was momentarily blinded by a stray elbow, Strong stunned his opponent with a low blow. Gabriel managed to kick out from the resulting pinfall, but Strong immediately locked on the STRONG HOLD and Gabriel was forced to tap out. WINNER: Roderick Strong via submission (2:39) NWA World Television Championship Match: Shelton Benjamin (c) vs. Chris HeroAs Roderick Strong made his way to the back, Truth Martini remained at ringside, high-fiving Chris Hero as the challenger made his entrance, and shouting threats and insults at Shelton Benjamin once the champion reached the ring. The two men had barely locked up, with Hero taking the advantage after a fierce elbow, before Truth Martini slid into the ring and nailed Hero with the Book of Truth! The referee called for the bell immediately, and Martini and Benjamin celebrated together, laughing all the way to the back while a dazed Chris Hero lay in the ring, trying to piece together what had happened. WINNER: Chris Hero via disqualification (2:13) Joey Ryan vs. Scorpio SkyThis grudge match got off to a wild start, with both men trading fists, eye rakes, and choke holds. Scorpio Sky gradually began to wear Ryan down and turned up the heat with his usual high-flying offense and some hard-hitting strikes, falling back to an old-fashioned choke hold whenever Ryan started to rally. Sky went for a suplex, but Ryan blocked it and countered with a rake of the eyes, firing his opponent into the ropes, but falling prey to a sunset flip for two. As Sky argued with referee Brad Maddox, Ryan grabbed a handful of tights and rolled him up for a long two-count. A nasty lariat nearly took Sky's head off, then Ryan set him up on the top turnbuckle and planted him with a MUSTACHE RIDE for the 1-2-3. WINNER: Joey Ryan via pinfall (8:00) NWA World Tag Team Championship Match: The Future (c) vs. The BatiriThis was a hard-fought match right from the opening bell, with the mysterious Batiri keeping Jon Moxley and Tyler Black off-pace with their hard-hitting offense, while the raw athleticism of the champions clearly stymied Kodama and Obariyon on several occasions. The bout spilled out to the floor several times, and after one of these brawls, Kodama sent Moxley into the ringpost, opening up a nasty cut on his forehead. A quick tag brought Black into the ring, and he picked up a near fall after a slick enzuigiri. Black threw Kodama into the corner and mounted the turnbuckle, only to get grabbed around the waist and planted with an inverted atomic drop. In dire straits, Black had no choice but to tag in his bleeding partner, who quickly turned the tables and scored a near fall with his HEADLOCK DRIVER. Kodama managed to tag in Obariyon, who flew from the top rope and drove his fist into the wound on Moxley's head. With the champion dazed, the challengers made one more exchange and Kodama hit his FLYING BLOCKBUSTER, making the cover while referee Brian Hebner counted to three. WINNERS and NEW NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: The Batiri via pinfall (10:10) Match of the Night: The Batiri d. The Future Wrestler Observer Rating: 2.5 stars
