Jervis Cottonbelly vs. Jakob HammermeierWith the injuries to Gran Akuma and Stigma, the Flood’s manager was forced to step into the ring to take on the World’s Sweetest Man. Despite Cottonbelly’s early success, including a very sweet hug to his opponent that got turned into a belly-to-belly suplex, this match was all Hammermeier. He made liberal use of eye rakes and illegal fists to keep Cottonbelly on the ropes before finally finishing him off with the GUTEN NACHT.
WINNER: Jakob Hammermeier via pinfall (5:47)
The Colony vs. The ThrowbacksSoldier Ant was still AWOL, so Green Ant and Fire Ant represented the Colony in this match between two fan favorite teams. Green Ant started the match against Mark Angelosetti, and quickly found himself overwhelmed by Mr. Touchdown. A pair of body slams led into a Flea Flicker, then a series of pump splashes, all culminating in a two-count. Angelosetti made the tag, and Dasher Hatfield picked up where his cousin had left off, hitting a clothesline and a GRAND SLAM for 1…2…Fire Ant made the save!
Another tag, and Angelosetti planted Green Ant with an EXTRA POINT for two. He dropped a knee across the masked man’s forehead, then made another switch with his partner. The quick tags continued, and Green Ant fell deeper and deeper into trouble, until Hatfield whipped him into the ropes and attempted a hip toss; Green Ant blocked it, hip tossed his opponent instead, and finally dive into the corner to tag in his partner. Fire Ant was well-rested, and came in like…well, like a house afire. Knife edge to Angelosetti. Dropkick to Hatfield. He powered Hatfield up for a Burning Hammer and made the cover: 1…2…Angelosetti with a big knee off the top rope, and now Fire Ant was in trouble. Hatfield rolled him over and made the cover, earning a two-count, then tagged in Angelosetti for an EXTRA POINT and another near fall. Yet another tag, and Hatfield whipped Fire Ant into the ropes, setting him up for the PRIME TIME, but Green Ant dove into the ring and took Hatfield down with a spear, breaking up the move. All four men began brawling and referee Daniel Yost was trying desperately to restore order when the bell rang. Yost checked with Gavin Loudspeaker and confirmed that the time limit had expired.
NO WINNERS: Time Limit Draw (30:00)
Juan Francisco de Coronado vs. ShynronNot much to see here, as the Ecuadoran grounded Shynron early and never let up. He stretched the rules often, including one nasty moment where he planted the Spirit Dragon on the floor with a double-underhook power bomb, but ultimately he turned his attention to Shynron’s knee and picked up the win with his CORONADO CLUTCH.
WINNER: Juan Francisco de Coronado via submission (5:27)
Non-Title Match: NWA World Tag Team Champions The Batiri vs. 3.0The champions looked very strong early, working over Shane Matthews with quick tags and high-impact knee strikes. Kodama made the first error of the match when he took Matthews down with a slingshot hurricanrana—the move launched Matthews across the ring, into his corner, and he made a much-needed tag.
Parker went right after Kodama with forearm after forearm, then a spinning heel kick. He made a quick tag and 3.0 planted Kodama with the SWEET TASTE OF PROFESSIONALISM, but the demon kicked out at two. Kodama rolled out to the floor as 3.0 made another exchange, and Parker went face-to-face with Obariyon.
Obariyon took Parker down with a hurricanrana, then bloodied his nose with a running knee strike before going to the top rope for a FLYING DDT. Before Obariyon could launch himself through the air, Parker slithered to the ropes and pulled himself out to the floor, where his frustration got the better of him. Seeing Kodama still winded from earlier, Parker grabbed Gavin Loudspeaker’s chair and unloaded on the demon. Referee Bryce Remsburg saw the illegal move and quickly called for the bell.
WINNERS: The Batiri via disqualification (7:48)
Oleg the Usurper (with Sidney Bakabella) vs. Pinkie SanchezIt was clear from the opening bell that this was going to be a one-sided contest, as Oleg tossed Sanchez around the ring like a rag doll, scoring near falls after a running bell clap and a Yakuza Kick. He tossed Sanchez over the top rope and raised his arms in victory as referee Jonathon Barber started the count.
Then, out of nowhere, Sanchez came flying back into the ring with springboard butt bump that knocked Oleg back into the corner. Sanchez charged in after him with a leaping clothesline, then somehow hoisted him up for the BURNING SNICKLEFRITZ and a count of 1…2…Oleg barely kicked out! Sanchez began tying Oleg up with the Inverted Chikara Special, but Sidney Bakabella reached into the ring, grabbed his man’s wrists, and pulled him to the bottom rope, forcing a break.
Sanchez launched Oleg into the ropes and ducked his head for a back body drop…but he sent too early. Oleg instinctively dove over his head and hooked his legs with a sunset flip for 1…2…3!
WINNER: Oleg the Usurper via pinfall (10:44)
The Osirian Portal vs. Los Ice CreamsThe Portal were putting their three points on the line in this match, and they brought a level of competition to this match commensurate with the risk they were taking. Amasis laid into El Hijo del Ice Cream with forearms and knees before taking him down with a leg sweep and tagging in his partner. Ophidian picked up where Amasis left off, putting Hijo on the mat with a German suplex and locking on his DEATH GRIP. Ice Cream Jr. charged across the ring and broke up the hold, then rolled his partner to the floor, becoming the legal man.
Junior didn’t fare any better than his partner: Ophidian and Amasis worked him over with quick tags and ultimately threw him through the ropes, to the floor (where Hijo was still struggling to recover from his beating). Ophidian charged across the ring, dove through the ropes, and took Junior down with a suicide dive, then applied his DEATH GRIP on the floor! Referee Daniel Yost reached a count of seventeen before Ophidian released the hold and slithered back into the ring, and Yost finished the count with neither Ice Cream able to make it to his feet and into the ring.
WINNERS: The Osirian Portal via count out (10:21)
Twelve Large Summit Final Match: Jaka (with Sidney Bakabella) vs. IcarusOnce the Ice Creams were assisted to the locker room, it was time for the MMMMMMMMain Event of the Afternoon! The Grand Championship was on the line, so both men came to the ring ready for a war. Jaka jumped Icarus during the ring introductions, head butting him in the small of his back and throwing him to the mat with a release German suplex. Icarus struggled to his feet, but Jaka clamped on a nerve hold, bringing him back to his knees. A JUMANJI BOMB put Icarus on his back and Bryce Remsburg made the cover: 1…2…Icarus kicked out!
The savage from Chad whipped Icarus into the corner, but the Winged Ring Warrior rebounded with a lariat. He stepped out to the apron and hit a slingshot senton on Jaka, following up with a dropkick and a European forearm…which Jaka ducked beneath. He scooped his opponent up and planted him with a Samoan drop, then climbed to the top rope and crushed Icarus with a flying head butt. Jaka made the cover: 1…2…no! He kicked out again!
Jaka worked Icarus over with a series of palm thrusts and head butts, then another JUMANJI BOMB for two. The savage climbed to the top rope and flew…and Icarus rolled aside! Jaka crashed and burned, and Icarus was ready for him. He picked the savage up and drove him into the corner with a BLU-RAY, making the cover: 1…2…and Sidney Bakabella dove from the top rope, crushing both wrestlers! Jaka recovered first and draped an arm across Icarus’ chest: 1…2…no!
Despite the kick-out, Icarus was in big trouble, and rolled out to the floor to catch his breath. Unfortunately, Jaka followed and lit him up with a spinning palm thrust, then a running head butt. With Remsburg’s count at ten, Jaka picked Icarus up for an atomic drop, but charged forward, crotching him on the ring post! Sidney Bakabella raced around the ring, pulling his man off Icarus and rolling Jaka into the ring just as Remsburg reached twenty. Clearly unhappy, Remsburg nevertheless called for the bell.
WINNER and NEW GRAND CHAMPION: Jaka via count out (31:10)
Post-Match DramaOnce Bryce Remsburg handed him the championship belt, Jaka threw it aside (where Sidney Bakabella picked it up) and went after his fallen opponent. The savage rolled Icarus back into the ring and climbed up to the top rope, signaling that this would be the end for the Winged Ring Warrior…
Then the lights went out.
There was a moment of confusion in the darkness, and an excited buzz rose from the fans in attendance. Abruptly, the lights came back on, and there was someone standing between Jaka and the downed Icarus:
It was
Jigsaw! The crowd went wild for the returning masked man, who pointed a finger at Jaka, then gestured around his own waist, as if promising he’d be wearing the Grand Championship sooner rather than later. With Jaka and his manager retreating from the ring, the show went off the air.
