How about we finally release something?
KING OF SPORTS - THE HEADLINERS
First off, credit where it's due. Chad Olson put together the PDF and in my opinion, he did a great job. Hurst/slymm looked through the stats to help me find stuff that I had missed and I've just gotten the finalized PDF from Chad so here's the initial release. You get all but two of the G1 historical cards I had planned (my mistake, I thought I had included them in the original word document I sent to Chad) as well as all of the major event headliners from 2015 New Japan Pro Wrestling. When I started this project, I didn't think it would take so long to complete but it's been worth the wait, at least in my opinion. Some of my best work is contained in this PDF and they'll work just fine alongside your color indie cards and even with the Legends of Wrestling cards. I wanted to put something out that not only works with the black and white Legends cards, but also with the color indie cards so if you wanted to do a Global Wars type card, you could do it or if you wanted to see how Tanahashi would fare against Lou Thesz, you could do that as well. It's a massive undertaking, because it's one thing to make sure I got the moves right and in the right places but I put a lot of thought into how strong everyone is for the sake of balance. For example, someone like Tanahashi will probably beat Ishii more times than vice versa but that's probably how it should be though Ishii is more than capable of big wins. Shibata will probably fare well against most guys but the top stars will give him problems. When I say I put more work into this than pretty much any other project I've done, I mean it. This set has been a monster.
Hopefully you get some use out of these and if you're unfamiliar with New Japan Pro Wrestling, hopefully these will at least give you a reason to check it out. Below is a chart of who was babyface/heel in terms of the current roster in 2015, I'll fill it in as more releases come out. As for the historical cards, you can use them however you want. The face/heel divide in Japan really wasn't as clear in years prior but I included them in the chart as well.
ALSO, if you want to use these cards as a base and update them or make a COTG version of them using these as a base, all I ask is for a little credit. You don't have to ask my permission to use them, just give me a shout out.
Anyways, here's the full rundown of who's who on the current roster and the G1 winners. If someone has a name next to them in brackets, that's their team name. There's a few bonuses in the PDF, including an all-time great tag team, one of Japan's most memorable characters and one of Japan's most legitimate monsters.
