Hey all, I hope no one minds me pimping my pet project website, Classic Wrestling Articles. I know I have a few followers from these boards and I'd imagine these newspaper and magazine articles could be a great inspiration for people's feds. I did want to share a pretty cool milestone that I am very excited about with the Filsinger Games fans. I recently posted my 2,000th article to the site. I wanted #2000 to be special so I tracked down a great article about George Hackenschmidt's history with physical fitness including a fun pictorial. You can check it out HERE. Thanks for checking it out. If you'd like to be kept in the loop when new articles are posted, follow the site through email, Facebook or Twitter.

Definitely a cool site. I'm due for another visit to see what you've unearthed in recent months. Congrats on the milestone!

Thought I'd give people a heads up on something fun I have going on over at my website: classicwrestlingarticles.wordpress.comOne of my regular readers hooked me up in a huge way. He has typed up every article he could find on Nels Moe's wrestling career, which started around 1911. I'm assuming there aren't any raving Nels Moe fans in the chat but I thought some may get some enjoyment out of seeing how a wrestler's career looked during the vintage era and how the local newspapers helped in promoting him. It's even interesting that this wrestler who most have never heard of, from Christine, North Dakota, still ended up rubbing elbows with guys like Frank Gotch, Strangler Lewis and Jim Londos along the way. I'm going through trying to post a few articles a day in chronological order if anyone wants to read along. The site is fast approaching 2700 articles and this project alone (not to mention the other stuff I have typed up and the other things he has sent me) will see that number grow quickly.

I love that website and didn't know it was yours. I have been reading a lot about the early vintage wrestlers.

Just passed 3000 articles on the site within the past few days. The same guy that provided me with the typed up articles from Nels Moe's career provided me with articles from Alma Mills and a couple other wrestlers that will be coming in the future. So, right now we are going through Alma Mills career on the site. This will probably be a while because he has provided a lot of articles on her career spanning from 1954-1970... and I am only on 1955. lol.
3000 is a pretty big milestone so I was excited to share.

Congrats! Been loving all the Alma Mills articles. It’s so fascinating to see the way women’s wrestling was promoted - especially seeing so many of her matches as main events. Keep up the great work, my friend. It’s an invaluable resource - so much more than just a time capsule.

Since I haven't read too much ahead, I'm curious if we will see a difference in how she and other women are promoted by 1970. BUT it is cool to see women headlining so many cards in the 1950s. Certain promoters treated women, midgets and wrestlers like the French Angel as special attractions but not necessarily as true wrestling stars. Always interesting to see how different wrestlers are treated and promoted by different promoters and publications.
