I'm thinking that we're going to be looking at the GWF version of NXT... In my eyes, the initials FTR seem to represent the word 'FUTURE', rather than an acronym of some kind...
Wouldn't it be cool if Tom decided to go with something similar to WarGames by granting players of the game a voice in how the next edition of the main game takes shape... What if he asks everyone to play their FTR feds and determine WHO in their universe deserves to be promoted to the 'major league'... He could compile the stats from everyone that sends in their results and whichever character(s) fare the best would get included on the main GWF roster in a future set...
December does seem so far away... Can't wait for some sneak previews...

There's a lot of ways to go. I like the thought of a NXT style fed but I will miss the Z.

I am thinking NXT type fed too. But the idea of focusing on different markets with feds with different styles would be cool.
Rumor online is FTR stands for Federation of Troy Rasslin'.

If it's not enough cards to run a NXT-like league, I doubt I buy.

Or was that actually stated somewhere? I'd like to think that if this is going to be a 'minor league' promotion, we'd get a full starter set in order to get it off the ground... I know that could be a tall order (24 cards at least), but who knows how long Tom has been kicking around this devious little development... If it's been a couple years in the making, then 24 cards would not be unthinkable... The reason I brought up the WarGames scenario is that I figure it would be the most innovative way to decide which guys make the grade and eventually move up into the GWF... I wasn't playing when Ensor and Overtime made their moves up from the GWFZ, so I'm not really sure how those came about... An Indy version of the GWF would be cool as well... But, unless it was going to turn into another CPC type situation, I don't know how you could tie the two game editions together... Not sure I'd be as interested in another stand-alone game series... Although I'm sure I'd still pick it up... Can't resist!

The way it's being pushed leads me to suspect it'll be an entirely new line. I'm all in favour of a new "jumping on" point for new players. 2119 was a long time ago now.
