Today's society is all about instant gratification and there is no story 'building' any more. I was talking with a friend the other day about how awesome Claudio Castagnoli is and that the E should let him do a BDK type angle in the fed but we know that will never happen. A year long arch would never work to the Kool-Aid drinkers.

I just picked managers, as those are hard to find many on any level of the wrestling business. The other things you listed I can find in wrestling, just maybe not always in WWE. Love this statement... Because, in truth, I don't really miss anything in wrestling... Between Lucha Underground and ROH (with some CZW, Evolve, PWG and CWFH thrown in whenever I can find it), I'm getting a pretty sweet dose of all the things that I WISH the WWE could deliver... Perhaps the real question for me is ' What do I miss about WWE?' But, it's been gone for so long, I don't even think it's an option for them anymore...

Definitely agree that the internet has killed ALOT of the so-called surprises in the business. Del Rio was a perfect example. Yeah it was definitely a holy s**t moment, but as cited above, we all knew Cena was taking a few months off, so him dropping the belt to Alberto was pretty much ruined. It's the same with TV tapings. Kinda ruins the excitement when a James Storm or Samoa Joe jumps ship when you already knew weeks earlier that they were coming. Ditto for Tyler Breeze's "debut". Also have to admit that I kinda miss kayfabe in certain respects as well. Sure, for the most part it is totally intelligence insulting, but most things that are usually end up being plain old fun & wrestling really isn't fun anymore. Still entertaining, but not in the same way as before I knew Steve Borden was Sting, for example. Again, we can thank the internet for that one, too.
GREAT topic by the way!

Reading this prompted me to think about how disappointed I would have been 30+ years ago had I known before tuning in that Andre the Giant would have the foresight to select S.D. Jones as his "mystery" partner against Big John Studd & Ken Patera in the infamous haircut match. I remember waiting all week to see who it would be, obviously to only be disappointed, but oh, the anticipation...THAT is what I miss MOST!
