The thing I miss the most is quality story-telling... Fortunately, Lucha Underground has done a superb job of filling this void for me...
I have absolutely zero desire to resume watching WWE...

Managers for sure. They were a huge part of storylines.
I don't think the wrestling matters too much anymore. Sure there are good matches, but the fans seem to only care about the intros. It used to be no matter what else was going on with the story and around the match it still came down to what happened in the ring.

Tonight was a good example of how the internet is killing professional wrestling.
I knew days before it aired that Tyler Breeze was jumping up to the main roster, yet I don't think anyone truly knew that Alberto Del Rio was going to challenge Cena tonight, yet we all knew that Cena was going to lose tonight. The good old fashion surprise is the greatest thing that we have lost.
I also voted for unpredictable PPV's which also leads into the good old fashioned surprise, and finally good storytelling.
The WWE NEEDS to get rid of the entire writing staff and let wrestling people book and layout the wrestling show.

The WWE NEEDS to get rid of the entire writing staff and let wrestling people book and layout the wrestling show. Those are some really solid points. The internet has pretty much ruined things. I am happy that Alberto Del Rio was actually a huge surprise but the fact that Cena taking a break was leaked out meant that we pretty much knew he was losing so ultimately it was not a surprise. I hate the idea of a writing staff with a passion, especially one that is brought in mainly having no knowledge of pro wrestling. It is the complete opposite of what you should do. Just hire a good booker with wrestling knowledge and let them do their thing. Scripted promos have killed any chance of letting guys develop properly. I could go on and on but what's the point? It will not change anytime soon so either we watch or we don't. I still watch WWE but I admit it is getting harder and harder. I often find myself going to DVD's of the old territories or Japan, etc. to get my fix if I am not in a WWE mood. By the way, WWE Network get your act together and start putting up some of the hours upon hours of territory footage you have and stop with the lame excuses that nobody watches the vault. Maybe they would watch if you added things to it. It's not that difficult. Ok my rant is over

I think this is actually proof that the internet doesn't HAVE to ruin things. Things can still be a secret, the wrestlers and WWE themselves just have to NOT spoil everything. I think it was the quality storytelling and general "never know what is going to happen" feeling of weekly wrestling that got me into it many moons ago. The fact that every time I turn on Raw, Smackdown or a PPV I feel like I've seen it before means that everything that got me into wrestling is pretty much gone.

I'll echo good storylines. Make me give a hoot as to what happens to these characters.
It's funny, but during my sabbaticals from COTG (not by choice, mind you, LOL) I'm more accepting of WWE but when I spend a few good months getting to roll the dice, I start hating WWE, thinking "Heck, my WGX fed is more entertaining than this crap!" I'm sure we're all biased like that though. I love having a big match coming up and getting psyched up for a couple days before I can roll it out. With HIAC last weekend, I almost forgot it was on until halfway through it!
Then last night, I probably spent 75% of the night watching MNF and just 25% on RAW. Byron Saxton and endless commercials for the new video game have a lot to do with it, LOL.
Good surprises, managers, and tag teams (meaning, NOT the Dudley Boyz, I just never got what the big deal was) would be a nice return to the glory days too. Thanks for bringing all this up. Now I'm in a foul mood, ha ha.

I just picked managers, as those are hard to find many on any level of the wrestling business. The other things you listed I can find in wrestling, just maybe not always in WWE.
