Card 05 – Golden Horseshoe Wrestling presents “Road to The Gold Night Five” Knights of Columbus Hall, Hamilton, January 17, 2015
Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block A Match “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards v. Rhino w/Truth Martini
Rhino looked to be the first one to stop Edwards in the tournament. Edwards wisely bailed after a running powerslam and Rhino came out after Edwards dropping him with a chair shot. The bell sounded and the referee called for the disqualification (Snake Eyes). Rodrick Strong arrives and joins Rhino for a two on one attack on Edwards who is some serious trouble. Davey Richards arrives at ringside with a chair in hand breaking things up before Edwards is injured. (dud)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block A Match Roderick Strong w/Truth Martini v. Willie Mack
Martini had his charged fired up and Strong nearly took the early win with a STRONG HOLD. Mack was able to power back gaining control with power moves in and out of the ring. Martini was able to distract the referee after a sit out spinebuster and after a MDX, Martini was up on the apron keeping Strong alive. However, the interference was not enough as Mack had just too much offense and picked up the win after a standing moonsault followed by a sit out powerbomb. (1.5)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block A Match Adam Pearce v. Claudio Castagnoli
At the outset of the tournament, many thought this would have been a key match in deciding the winner. However, Pearce and Castagnoli sit in the basement of Block A. The Swiss Powerhouse continued to struggle in the tournament and was really outclassed by Pearce, the former NWA Champion. Pearce nails the JUMPING PILEDRIVER and Castagnoil barely kicks out. A second one a few moves later gives Pearce his second win of the tournament and hands Castagnoli his fifth straight loss. (1.0)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block B Match – “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin w/Truth Martini v. Jay Lethal
Lethal has the fans behind him and responses with an awesome offensive attack. The referee gets caught up in the action mid way through the match and is out for eight moves. During that time, Lethal nails the LETHAL INJECTION but there is no referee to make the count. The referee recovers and Lethal continues to press the attack. Hail to the King hits and gets a near fall. It is all Lethal but Elgin catches a break and hits a stalling vertical suplex that has Lethal upside down for what seems like forever. Lethal kicks out at two and then Elgin then hits the SPINNING SITOUT POWERBOMB to get his fourth straight victory in a stunning comeback. (2.5)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block A Match – Delirious v. Bryan Danielson
The fans are buzzing at the outset of this one and rightfully so as this one was a solid encounter from start to finish. Some great back and forth action early on. Danielson connects with a diving headbutt for a two count early on and then goes for the submission with a TRIANGLE CHOKE but Delirious makes the ropes. Delirious sends Danielson into the ringside table at one point and begins a long comeback. A one point Delirious hits Chemical Imbalance II, Shadows over Heck and then a PRAYING MANTIS BOMB but Danielson kicks out after all three moves. Delirious continues to press the advantage and eventually plants Danielson with a BIZZARO DIVER to take the victory. (3.5)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block B Match Eddie Kingston v. “Lightening” Mike Quackenbush
A classic battle of teacher v. student was up next and the action started with a handshake but Kingston came to fight and scored with a kidney punch followed by a Lariat that turned Quackenbush inside out. The three count followed (Snake Eyes) and the match was over before it even started (dud).

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block B Match – “American Wolf” Davey Richards v. Homicide
The long jam in Block B was about to be broken up as both competitors were looking to keep within reach of the top spot. Richard ruled the early action with kicks and an impressive suicide dive. Homicide came back with a brawl on the floor and then attacked Richards with a fork earning some solid heat from ringside. Piledriver game Homicide a two count and Homicide then hit the DA GRINGO KILLER. Richards appears to kicks out but it is just as the referee makes the three count and Homicide gets two points. (2.0)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block B Match – Shelton Benjamin v. “Wrestling’s Worst Nightmare” Kevin Steen
Despite being knowns as one of the best brawlers in the sport, Steen showed he can grapple as well as he can punch hitting a fisherman’s buster onto the knee and high-angle senton bomb. Steen then nails Benjamin with a F-CINQ for the win. Benjamin has zero offense and Steen looks really strong heading into the final two rounds.

In Block A, Eddie Edwards remains undefeated and is leading the competition with 10 points. Meanwhile Michael Elgin has the edge in Block B with 8 points. Four competitors have 6 points (Kevin Steen, Davey Richards, Homicide & Eddie Kingston) so things are anything but decided in that block.

Very surprised that the Swiss Superman has yet to pick up a win... And it looks like Steen has bounced back nicely since losing his first two contests via DQ...

Still thinking that Homicide is going to be a major factor...

Card 06 – Golden Horseshoe Wrestling presents “Road to The Gold Night Six” The Bay City Music Hall, Hamilton, January 18, 2015

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block A Match – Bryan Danielson v. Willie Mack
The match starts with a handshake and Mack shocks the fans with a quick inside cradle that nearly ends the match early on. Danielson is on the defensive and Mack hits a Samoan Drop followed by a MDX and finally a CHOCOLATE THUNDER BOMB for the win. The Dragon was outclassed tonight. (1.0)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block B Match – Homicide v. “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush
Quackenbush comes out with some speed but Homicide breaks out a fork and attacks Quackenbush earing some solid heat from the fans. Quackenbush never really recovers. He manages to kick out after an Ace Crusher but a DA GRINGO KILLER ends it. (1.0)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block B Match – Jay Lethal v. Shelton Benjamin
A handshake starts this one off as the fans settle in for what should be a great match. The fans were not disappointed as the action moved quickly and went back and forth with some awesome counters and killer high flying spots. Benjamin was able to nail a corner splash followed by back to back PAYDIRTS for three near falls. Lethal battled back and connected with LETHAL INJECTION but came up just short of the win. Benjamin and Lethal continued to go back and forth including some intense brawling on the floor until Benjamin caught Lethal with a springboard clothesline for the three count (2.5)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block A Match - Roderick Strong v. Rhino
Truth Martini is beside himself as he gets in between his two charges begging them not to fight. Rhino responses with a belly to belly on Strong and we are underway. This one was a war. Strong nailed back to back SICK KICKS that had Martini losing his mind at ringside but Rhino power out of the covers and then powered out of a STRONG HOLD. The momentum changed when they went to the floor and Rhino began to punish his opponent. Suplexes landed and shook the ring. A Death Valley Driver nearly killed Strong before connecting with a GORE! The referee made the three count although it appeared that Strong may have gotten his shoulder up before the third slap on the mat. Despite Strong’s protests, Rhino gets the win. Strong leaves ringside in disgust glaring at Martini. (2.0)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block A Match - Claudio Castagnoli v. “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards
Castagnoli could only play the role of the spoiler at this point and he showed up with his working boots tonight hitting an early RICOLA BOMB that nearly ended Edwards undefeated streak. The referee was knocked down for eight moves during which time Castagnoli looked to have the match won twice. The referee recovered in time to see another RICOLA BOMB and make the three count. Edwards has one offensive move the entire match and drops his first decision of the tournament. (1.0)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block A Match - Delirious v. Adam Pearce
The bad blood between these two goes back to their battles along the American east coast Indies. The action goes back and forth from the outset. At one point, both men collide and crack heads in the corner. Delirious is up first and hits Chemical Imbalance II for a near fall. Pearce is reeling and Delirious plants him with a PRAYING MANTIS BOMB for the three count (Snake Eyes) (1.5)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block B Match – “Wrestling’s Worst Nightmare” Kevin Steen v. Eddie Kingston
The fans braced for impact as two of the best brawlers in the territory clashed in the next match. The ring could not contain the action as they spent plenty of time tearing things up at ringside. Inside the ring, Steen managed to hit an F-CINQ for a near fall. Later, Steen made use of a chair to punish Kingston. The referee lets them go and Steen eventually picked up the win with a second F-CINQ. (1.5)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block B Match – “American Wolf” Davey Richards v. “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin w/Truth Martini
The fans were hoping for another classic between these two and the action early one was intense. Richards was able to apply an early ANKLE LOCK but Elgin reached the ropes to keep alive. Later, Elgin countered a whip to the ropes with a brutal lariat that set up a SPINNING SIT-OUT POWERBOMB. Richards was able to kick out at the last second and Martini could not believe it. Richards and Elgin traded moves back and forth from that point. A spinning backfist sent the action to the floor both men traded heavy shots back and forth. They went back to the floor again and this time Elgin powerbombed Richards through a ringside table. The fans exploded in chants as Elgin stood over his broken opponent. The referee called for the disqualification and Richards picked up two big points heading into the final matches of the tournament. (2.5)

Heading in the final round, here are the updated standings. In Block A, Eddie Edwards and Delirious are tied at ten points each. Willie Mack is next with eight points followed by Rhino with six points. Adam Pearce, Roderick Strong and Bryan Danielson have four points each and Claudio Castagnoli has two points. In Block B, Kevin Steen, Davey Richards, Homicide and Michael Elgin have eight points each. Shelton Benjamin and Eddie Kingston have six points each and Jay Lethal has four points. Finally, Mike Quackenbush has two points.

Thank you for the comments walkswithwolf. Things really did tighten up as the tournament went on with Delirious putting together an impressive run to keep pace with Eddie Edwards and Block B being a log jam for several cards.

Card 07 – Golden Horseshoe Wrestling presents “Road to The Gold Night Seven” Don Kolov Arena, Mississauga, January 24, 2015

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block A Match – Claudio Castagnoli v. Rhino w/Truth Martini
The back and forth action was intense from the outset with both men pushing the envelope towards a disqualification. Castagnoli picked up a near fall after a diving European uppercut and then Rhino picked one of his own after a Death Valley Driver. The action picked up with plenty of brawling on the floor. Rhino goes into the ringside table and later, Castagnoli traps Rhino in the ropes and hammers away. Martini jumps to the apron and Castagnoli decks him. The referee steps in to free Rhino and Castagnoli shoves him to the mat earning a disqualification in the process. An extremely disappointing tournament for Castagnoli. After the match, Bryan Danielson comes out and tells Castagnoli that neither one of them will claim the Golden Horseshoe Title but there is tag team tournament coming up and he is looking for a partner. Castagnoli accepts and shakes The American Dragon's hand. Team Uppercut will contend for the Tag Team Titles. (1.0)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block A Match - Adam Pearce v. Bryan Danielson
The fans are solidly behind The American Dragon from the outset but it is Pearce who takes control of the action. Twice Pearce gains a two count after cracking Danielson across the back with a chair shot. Danielson finally gains some momentum when he uses his kicks to get the advantage on the floor. Pearce survives back to back CATTLE MUTILATIONS and back to back TRIANGLE CHOKES. A diving headbutt hits for a big near fall and then Danielson locks in another TRIANGLE CHOKE to complete the comeback after a slow start in the bout. (2.0)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block B Match – “Wrestling’s Worst Nightmare” Kevin Steen v. “Lightening” Mike Quackenbush
Steen was tied for the top spot in the block coming into this match with Quackenbush having won only one match in the entire tournament. Quackenbush was a blur of offense after Steen had a few power moves early on. Quackenbush used Quackendrivers and a pair of Chikara Specials to soften up his much larger opponent. Steen takes a QUACKENDRIVER IV and Quackendriver II avoiding the three count. Quackenbush continues to press the offense and finishes Steen with QUACKENBUSH II. Huge upset as Quackenbush plays the spoiler. (1.5)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block B Match – Homicide v. Jay Lethal
Lethal scores with backdrop to the floor early on and then hits a pair of LETHAL INJECTIONS, the Lethal Combination and Hail to the King without getting the three count. Homicide counters a kick to the knee and starts his own offensive run. Homicide nails a crushing piledriver that does damage. Ace crusher connects and has Lethal reeling. Homicide then breaks out his fork and it is enough to put away Lethal with a controversial three count. With victories over both Davey Richards and Michael Elgin earlier in the tournament and Steen’s loss earlier tonight, Homicide claims the block B win. (2.0)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block B Match – “American Wolf” Davey Richards v. Eddie Kingston
Some real intensity from the outset between these two heavy hitters. Kingston came to fight and he very nearly puts away Richards with a SLIDING D. Richards recovers and goes to work with multiple Alarm Clocks and kicked to death mixed with ANKLE LOCKS. The assault of the American Wolf if just too much and Kingston passes out in an ANKLE LOCK giving Richards the victory. (2.0)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block B – Shelton Benjamin v. “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin w/Truth Martini
What a match. This one went back and forth from the outset. Benjamin carried the momentum until he sent Elgin into the ropes and ate a brutal lariat for his trouble followed by a SPINNING SIT-OUT POWERBOMB for a near fall. Benjamin showed his toughness and battled back. Elgin when into the ringside table spilling the contents everywhere. A pair of PAYDIRTS cannot put Elgin down and the powerful Canadian hits another SPINNING SIT-OUT POWERBOMB for another near fall. Martini gets involved tossing the book of truth to Elgin who decks Benjamin with the book for a near fall. Benjamin battled back again with corner splashes and superkicks. Elgin is a monster however and again comes off the ropes with a brutal lariat. It is the beginning of the end and Elgin scores with a third SPINNING SIT-OUT POWERBOMB for the win. (5.0)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block A Match – Roderick Strong w/Truth Martini v. Delirious
Delirious is still in contention to win the block but Strong is just the better competitor tonight. Delirious survives an early STRONG HOLD but Strong has all his weapons tonight and punishes Delirious with Death by Roderick, LeBell Lock, Gibson Driver and End of the Heartache. Delirious continues to find a way to escape defeat until Strong applies a STRONG HOLD and gets the win (1.5)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Block A Match – “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards v. Willie Mack
If Edwards wins this match and he takes the Block. Mack wins and we have three way tie at the top. Another back and forth match had the fans on the edge of their seats. Mack used his size to counter an early deathjump into a powerslam that nearly ended it. Mack also nailed a CHOCOLATE THUNDER BOMB for a near fall and also hit the MDX. Edwards made a comeback at ringside getting the best of an exchange. Edwards connected with a DIE HARD back to back but Mack was able to kick out after each one. Edwards and Mack went back and forth until Mack found himself trapped in an Achilles Lock in the middle of the ring and had to submit. Edwards wins block A. (3.5)

The final round of the tournament saw Homicide win this third straight match to claim Block B with ten points thanks to his head to head wins over both Davey Richards and Michael Elgin, both of whom also earned ten points. Kevin Steen was upset tonight by Mike Quackenbush so he ended the tournament with eight points. Shelton Benjamin and Eddie Kingston ended up with six points after their losses tonight and Jay Lethal and Mike Quackenbush rounded out the tournament with four points each. In Block B, Eddie Edwards lost only one match the entire tournament to win the block with twelve points. Delirious came in second with ten points. Willie Mack and Rhino each ended up with eight points while Roderick Strong and Bryan Danielson had six points. Adam Pearce had a disappointing tournament with four points and lastly, Claudio Castagnoli ended up with just one win for two points despite being ranked as the top seed in the block.

This sets the stage for Homicide v. Eddie Edwards for the Golden Horseshoe Title as the main event for “Gold” which will take place on January 31st. Up next, round one of the tag team title tournament!

Homicide came as no surprise... He is a fierce competitor with the ability to defeat anyone on any given day (when he can avoid disqualification)...

'Die Hard' Eddie and Delirious were both truly impressive, probably scoring higher than either was expected...

Quackenbush derailed the hopes of Steen with a bit of a shocker in the final night of the competition...

Card 08 – Golden Horseshoe Wrestling presents “Road to The Gold Night Eight” Merriton Community Centre, St. Catharines, January 25, 2015

Golden Horseshoe Tag Team Title Tournament – Round One

The Briscoe Brothers (Mark Briscoe & Jay Briscoe) v. The After Party (Johnny Yuma & Rhett Titus)
Yuma stands out early on with his agility catching Mark Briscoe with a tornado DDT for a big near fall in the opening minutes of action. It goes back and forth. Titus gets in some trouble after Mark Briscoe counters a backdrop with a piledriver. Later, Titus is almost counted out after being assaulted at ringside. The momentum changes back and forth until Titus catches Jay Briscoe on the floor and body slams him through a ringside table earning a disqualification. (1.5)

Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) v. Throwbacks (Sugar Dunkerton & Dasher Hatfield)
After a brief delay to clean up the debris at ringside, the fans are on psyched for this one. The Throwbacks wrestle a near perfect match cutting off Nick Jackson from his corner. Sugar Durkenton nailed the AIR DUNKERTON for a near fall. The Throwbacks execute a GRANDSLAM DUNK but Matt Jackson starts a wild brawl. The Throwbacks keep control and Hatfield puts away Nick Jackson with a GRANDSLAM. (1.5)

The Tribe (Hawaiian Lion & Navajo Warrior) w/Oliva v. The Dynasty (Joey Ryan & Scorpio Sky)
Some solid back and forth early between these four men who have battled in the same rings on the West Coast for years. Ryan gets the upper hand on Lion with a moonsault and then hits a MUSTACHE RIDE but Navajo Warrior breaks things up and The Tribe double up on Ryan turning the momentum. Both sides are able to make frequent tags and it was a defensive tag by the Tribe that lead to Lion crushing Ryan with a lariat. The Tribe then hit RESERVATION DEVASTATION on Ryan. Warrior makes the cover while Sky is blocked by Lion. (2.0)

Quacksaw (Jigsaw & “Lightening” Mike Quackenbush) v. Los Banditos (Rico Dynamite & Tito Escondido)
After some short back and forth exchanges, Quackenbush gets cut off from his corner and takes a beating from the Banditos which ends with a BANDITO BADLANDS. Jigsaw is in for the save and in the chaos drops an elbow on Dynamite. The tide turns as Jigsaw officially tags in and plants Dynamite with a Quackendriver I followed by JIG ‘N’ TONIC for the comeback win. (1.5)

Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team (Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas) v. Team FIST (Johnny Gargano & Chuck Taylor)
FIST does an excellent job of cutting off Haas from the outset. Haas kicks out after an OMEGA DRIVER and a HURTS DONUT. Benjamin makes the save after a second HURTS DONUT and it looks like Haas won’t last much longer but he is able to get a break on the floor and tag in Benjamin. Benjamin focuses his attack on Gargano. Taylor makes the save after a PAYDIRT but Benjamin keeps the offensive pressure on picking up the three count after a springboard clothesline while Haas cut of the save by Taylor. (2.0)

Incoherence (Frightmare & Hallowicked) v. Osirian Portal (Amasis & Ophidian)
A perfect performance from Incoherence as they cut off Amasis from his corner and go to work. Amasis kicks out after a KNEECOLEPSY and Ophidian is able to make the save after a HEADLESS HORSEMEN starting a wild brawl. Incoherence maintain control and Frightmare hits a FRIGHT CRUSHER and gets the pinfall (1.0)

Team Uppercut (Claudio Castagnoli & Bryan Danielson) v. C & C Wrestle Factory (Cedric Alexander & Caprice Coleman)
Castagnoli was looking to rebound from a horrible showing in the singles tournament. Danielson exchanges moves with both members of the Wrestle Factory. Alexander and Danielson trade tosses from the top to the mat before Castagnoli steps in against Alexander with a diving European uppercut for a near fall. Castagnoli nails a second diving European uppercut and gets the three count. (1.5)

Team Ambition (Kyle O’Reilly & “American Wolf” Davey Richards) v. Colony (Fire Ant & Solider Ant)
Both teams are able to make a series of tags as the early action was a stalemate. O’Reilly sends Solider Ant to the corner and follows with a charge but Ant moves sending O’Reilly crashing to the corner. Ant quickly schoolboys O’Reilly and gets the stunning three count. (1.0)

Some really great opening round matchups... The Briscoes are probably favored to win it all... But, Haas & Benjamin are a threat every time they step into that ring...

Danielson & Castagnoli make for an interesting impromptu pair... And I'm thinking Richards & O'Reilly could make some noise as well...

Card 09 – Golden Horseshoe Wrestling presents “Gold” Can Lan Sports Centre, Mississauga, January 31, 2015

Gold Horseshoe Tag Team Title Tournament – Quarterfinals

The Briscoe Brothers (Jay Briscoe & Mark Briscoe) v. Throwbacks (Dasher Hatfield & Sugar Dunkerton)
The story in this one was the Briscoe destroying both members of the Throwbacks but just not being able to put them away. The Briscoe’s hit a DUAL SUPER KICKS, SLINGSHOT LARIAT and SPIKE JAY DRILLER but cannot get the win. The Throwbacks get the occasional move in but Jay Briscoe soon ends it with a death valley driver on Hatfield for the win. (1.5)

The Tribe (Hawaiian Lion & Navajo Warrior) w/Olivia v. Quacksaw (Jigsaw & “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush)
A great match up of speed and agility against power was next. Quackenbush is on fire and nails a Jig ‘n’ Tonic and Quackendriver on Lion for near falls. Warrior hits the Broken Arrow and then the Tribe Crush Jigsaw with Slot Machine. RESERVATION DEVASTATION finished Jigsaw and the Tribe are onto the next round. (1.5)

Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team (Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas) vs. Incoherence (Frightmare & Hallowicked)
Some real back and forth highlights the early action in this one. Benjamin presses the attack but cannot put away Frightmare even after a pair of PAYDIRTS thanks to a good timed saved from Hallowicked. Wrestling’s Greatest combine for LEAP OF FAITH on Hallowicked but Frightmare makes the save. Incoherence make a strong comeback with the fans support. Rydeen Bomb connects on Haas for a near fall before Incoherence team up for HEADLESS HORSEMAN. Frightmare hooks the leg while Hallowicked blocks Benjamin. Incoherence makes it through to the next round. (2.0)

Team Uppercut (Brian Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli) v. The Colony (Fire Ant & Soldier Ant)
Castagnoli looks like a powerhouse in this one slamming Fire Ant to the mat with a RICOLA BOMB in the opening minute of the match but Solider Ant makes the save. Fire Ant is able to catch Danielson on the top of the corner and tosses the American Dragon to the mat. The Colony takes control and nearly end it with a TKO from Solider Ant on Danielson. Castagnoli gets the momentum back but takes things too far when he cracks Fire Ant across the back with a chair and is disqualified. The Colony advances. Danielson is not pleased and confronts Castagnoli after the match. Castagnoli responds with a RICOLA BOMB that leaves Danielson in the heap in the middle of the ring. Great heat for the Castagnoli who is clearly has had a very frustrating month. (2.0)

Gold Horseshoe Tag Team Title Tournament – Semi-Finals

Briscoe Brothers (Jay Briscoe & Mark Briscoe) v. The Tribe (Hawaiian Lion & Navajo Warrior) w/Olivia
Jay Briscoe looks very impressive against Navajo Warrior connecting with a death valley driver that shakes the ring and then a somersault plancha. Warrior and Briscoe brawl on the floor and Warrior whips Briscoe into the ringside table spilling the officials to the floor. Back inside, Lion tags in and Cobra Clutch suplexes Briscoe onto his head and then covers for the shocking three count. The top seed is out and suddenly the tournament is anyones to win. (1.5)

Incoherence (Frightmare & Hallowicked) v. The Colony (Fire Ant & Soldier Ant)

Strong gets the start against Mack but misses a dropkick. Lethal tags in and crushes Strong with LETHAL INJECTION but cannot get the three. Delirious is in next but Rhino gets in and nails a scoop powerslam and follows with a side belly-to-belly suplex for the three count. (1.0)

Gold Horseshoe Tag Team Title Tournament – Finals

The Tribe (Hawaiian Lion & Navajo Warrior) w/Olivia v. The Colony (Fire Ant & Solider Ant)
The Tribe look huge in the ring against the Colony which really causes the fans to get behind the Colony as the underdogs. Fire Ant took a beating from the outset as the Tribe used plenty of double teaming to beat crowd favorite down. The Tribe hit Hang Five and two Slot Machines before Lion opted out of deathjump and sent Fire Ant into the ropes. On the rebound, Fire Ant executes a perfect inside cradle to take the win and claim the titles (Snake Eyes). Fire Ant & Soldier Ant are joined by Green Ant as the Colony are presented with the Tag Team Titles. (1.5)

Golden Horseshoe Title Tournament Finals

Homicide v. “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards
The fans were behind Edwards and he would need all the support he could get as Homicide was all over Edwards from the outset. A piledriver on the apron looked sick and a lariat turned Edwards inside out. DA GRINGO KILLER looked to end it but Edwards lifted the shoulder narrowly avoiding defeat. Edwards showed some guts/stupidity trading blows with Homicide on the floor. Homicide went to top but Edwards popped up and tossed him to the mat. It was the break Edwards needed and he went to work including a pair of belly to back sit-out facebusters and a chin checker. Achilles Lock looks painful but does not get the win. Homicide battles back but a Tope con Hilo misses. The fans are roaring as Edwards connects with a diving double knees and hooks the leg to become the first Golden Horseshoe champion. (3.0)

An awesome main event! Very impressed with 'Die Hard' Eddie - the first ever Golden Horseshoe champion...

The Colony winning the tag straps was a neat surprise... Great performance by The Tribe as well... Eliminating The Briscoes was a huge accomplishment...

It looks like we've got a major rivalry started between Claudio and Danielson... The frustration is understandable, but not sure he made a smart decision by venting on the American Dragon...
