I completely agree with you and with Pikemojo. Everything about this set (except the quality talent included) feels tossed off. I was mildly annoyed by the flat stock, which does not flatter Stanley's artwork as much as the glossy stock. Normally, that wouldn't matter too much to me but, in the context of so many other reductions, it does. I'm a little confused by this comment. Legends B&W cards are always on flat stock. The stock used for this set is the same as last year. Legends went to a brighter white, shinier stock beginning with Partners. When that happened, I immediately noticed the quality improvement. Final Chapter is on the pre-Partners stock. To me, there is a visible difference between this year's cards and those in all the other sets since Partners.

OK I got you now, not glossiness but brightness. I assure you its not a conscious decision on our part, but a printer decision on the paper.

Is this set as stacked with big names as others no. It is a good set yes. Does it have a headliner, yes. The Fantastics were major names in Oklahoma and Texas, amongst other places. Their blood feud with the Sheepherders is legendary. To not call them a headliner is shockingly ignorant of wrestling history. They are on par with other LOW teams like the Midnight Express (my all time favorite tag team). If the critics of this set took a few minutes to research the other names, I think they would be pleased. Wild Bill Curry has a history that is ripe with storyline fodder. I am sad to see LOW end it B&W run. But I look forward to its future as well. Sadly the superficial criticisms of some (and foolish speculation of others) have thrown a wet blanket over this set. To purport to be a LOW fan and to run down the names in the last set is a true injustice. There is not a single post in this thread bashing any of the cards we received in this set... Its more about getting only 6 cards as the final hurrah for black & white sets. What I have seen in this thread is people happy with the cards we got,..but you see something different...go figure.

This is outside of my fed cannon, but a card I ran with the new releases vs their biggest foe (that's in the game
1) Lord Zoltan beat Virgil with the TRIANGLE DEATHGRIP 2) Sam Houston upset Ivan Koloff after the BULLDOG 3) Fred Curry pinned George Steele following MACHINE GUN DROPKICKS 4) Bull Curry pinned Pepper Gomez after the RIGHT HAND PUNCH 5) Midnight Express (Eaton/Lane) beat the Fantastics when Eaton pinned Fulton following a stinging right hand

I'm looking forward to seeing how the tag mechanic for The Fantastics will pan out.
