I've kept my eye on these great write up's for sometime and you have a cool concept that reminds me of reading the classic Wrestling Magazines of the 1980's, solid stuff. I really like your AWA and the Empire of Finlay & Taylor and American Starship feud has been a very cool one to follow...

Yes that was the feel I was going for. PWI, Wrestling Observer and the other wrestling mags back in the day. I thought it was a way I could stick out a bit with all the amazing feds out there plus I miss those days. It was always fun to pick up a wrestling mag and read up not only on WWF which was the one I watched the most as a kid but also the other feds out there. Thanks again.

Enjoy reading this thread. It's an information dump (in a good way) that reminds me how I used to learn about wrestling when I was younger. Being in the UK, outside of WWF and WCW, all my wrestling knowledge came from magazines like PWI.

Wrestling Wrap-up Weekly - Vol 2, Issue 30
Rumors and News
- News out of Japan is Andre the Giant is injured and will be out an unknown amount of time.
- There is a new NWA Mid Atlantic Champion, Ray Stevens.
ROH
7/27 The show starts with Mike Bennett coming down to the ring with Maria and Brutal Bob. He says last week he was cheated out of the ROH World Championship and he wants a match with Matt Hardy. As he waits for Matt, S.C.U.M.'s music hits but it is not Matt that comes out it is Cedric Alexander. Cedric says Mike is not worthy of a match with Matt. Mike says, so they send out Cedric the non entertainer instead. That is fine with him, for now, and he motions for Cedric to get in the ring. The match starts and Mike dominates the action. Cedric gets in a little bit of offense but not nearly enough and Mike picks up the win. The next match is Adam Cole vs. Silas Young. Young starts good and has Cole on the defensive but the young grappler fights back and Adam gets the win.
We then get an announcement about next month's PPV. Survival of the Fittest will involve 12 combatants that will be announced next week. They will appear in six one on one matches with the six winners facing off in the main event. That match will be a Six Pack Elimination Challenge. The winner will get a future title shot for the World Championship. It is back to the ring for action as Austin Ares takes on El Generico. Ares controls most of the action but when he tosses Generico into the ropes and goes for a back body drop, El Generico counters with a sunset flip and get the win. Ares is in shock. The main event is tag match between the Motor City Machine Guns and Team S.C.U.M. Jacobs and Corino attack the Guns before the bell and wear them down. It paid off as they cruised to an easy win.

Interview with Rio Grande Independent Posse:
WWW: What brings you to NWA:GCW?
Blackjack Mulligan: We heard this was were the top action was so that is where we need to be.
WWW: So what is up with your name?
Tracey Smothers: We are a posse so that is our name you greenhorn.
WWW: I get that part but what does the rest...
Tommy Rich: Man you are thick. Rio Grande is where we are from. Independent is the kind of posse we are. Back in the day posse's worked for some government establishment, be it a town or community. We do not work for anyone but ourselves. Thus we are independent. We can be hired to go after any target someone wants taken care of but that is our call.
WWW: So did someone hire you to go after Steve Williams last week?
Blackjack Mulligan: This interview is over. <motions to his posse mates and the three men walk off>
7/23 Mil Mascaras takes on "Wildfire" Tommy Rick in the first match. It is an exciting match going back and forth but in the end Tommy had too much for Mil and got the win. So the Posse is off to a good start in NWA:GCW. The big Russian Ivan Koloff and Les Thatcher squared off in the second match. Ivan started decent due to his strength advantage but he made a few mistakes and the vet Les took advantage of that and eventually got the win.
The Vachons and SST were in tag action next. The Vachons dominated the action and got an impressive win. After the match King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd ran down and attacked The Vachons. They started to brawl and it spilled out of the ring. It took a lot of officials and even a few wrestlers to break it up. The fans were chanting "let them fight". We are sure we will see that and soon. The main event was "Dr Death" Steve Williams taking on one of the men who jumped him last week, Tracy Smothers. Steve was angry over the beating and he took it out on Tracy. He used his strength to beat down his opponent but Tracy would not go down easy as he kept kicking out. Tommy Rich even made the save once but in the end Steve was not to be denied and he got the victory.
World Champion: Randy Savage Tag Team Champions: Road Warriors US Title: Bruiser Brody US Tag Title: Midnight Express
AWA
7/26 The show beings with "Playboy" Buddy Rose in back talking to Bob Roop. He tells Roop he should forget about being a single wrestler and focus on their tag team. Bob says he appreciated that but for now he needs to see what he can do on his own. He then heads to the ring for the opening match. Red Bastien and Bob Roop start the action. Red controlled most of the action with Roop with Bob getting in some offense. Buddy came down to distract the ref during one pin attempt by Red and it worked but the ref send Buddy to the back. Shortly after that Red put Roop away. The Valiant Brothers and the Love Brothers were in tag action next. The battle of brother teams was solid and in the end the Loves got the W.
Nick Bockwinkle is being interviewed in back and he is talking about how he deserves a title shot. Owen Hart walks up and says he thinks he deserves that shot. Owen says he went to AWA officials and they will find out who is better next week as they have a match and it will be the main event. As Owen walks off Nick just stares without saying anything. Frank Gotch has a rematch with Magnum T.A. In the first match Frank dominated the rookie. Magnum did a better job this time but in the end the result was the same, Gotch getting his arm raised. It was then time for the main event as the American Starship defended their tag titles against #1 contenders The Sheepherders. The Sheepherders came in on fire and with one thing in mind. They used frequent tags and overpowered the champs. The Sheepherders came out on top and won back the Tag Team Championship. As they got the straps and hit the buckles to celebrate the Hamilton Wrecking Crew ran in and attacked them. As the two teams fought the Starship, getting over the shock of losing the titles, watched then decided to aid The Sheepherders. However before long The Empire came down to join the action and went toe to toe with the former champs. As the four tag teams brawled GM Charlie Cox came out and yelled for the teams to stop. He said this craziness will not happen in his company. He suspends all four teams for next week. When they come back the following week they will be involved in and 8 man tag match. It will be The Sheepherders and American Starship against HWC and The Empire. That should be a great match but can American Starship work with the team that just dethroned them?
World Champion: Buddy Rogers Tag Team Champions: The Sheepherders
ECW
7/25 The first match was The Sheik against Adrian Street. As the Sheik was walking to the ring he stopped and looked off to the crowd. Right up against the railing was a large man, at least 6 foot and 240-250 lbs, yelling at The Sheik. He pointed at The Sheik and then made a breaking motion. Fans yell at wrestlers all the time but for some reason The Sheik was really paying attention to him. Perhaps it was because he is larger than your average fan. After a bit of a stare off The Sheik continued to the ring. It seemed at first the distraction might cost him but the wiry vet got the better of Adrian and picked up the win. After he went back to where that fan had been but he was gone. Next Jon Moxley took on Tommy Dreamer. Tommy was simply dominating Jon but then Tommy tossed Jon into the ropes, Jon hit his special move the Rebound Lariat and just like that got the win. Jon sure looks dangerous if he can get a win out of nowhere like that.
We then see D'lo and Val walking in the back. Down the hall chasing them is Larry Sweeney but them seem to be ignoring him. Then it is to the ring for tag action. PG-13 and the Young Bucks went at it. The Bucks used their speed and high flying while PG-13 relied on double teaming and bending the rules including hitting Matt with a hubcap. In the end PG-13 came out on top. The main event was Raven putting his TV Title on the line against Al Snow. Early on Raven just beat down on Al. He dropped Snow on his head via DDT's and even once on a chair. The problem is there is probably not much in that head so did not do as much damage as it would against a "normal" opponent. Al got some offense in then he went to talk to his mannequin head. As we have seen before that seemed to turn Al around. After a bit he pulled up the upset and pinned Raven. Your winner and new TV champion...Al Snow? Have you seen anything weirder? Al Snow celebrating with his "head" after is hard to beat.
World Champion: Taz Tag Team Champions: Wolves TV Title: Al Snow
CHIKARA
7/22 The first match is for the Grand Championship tournament as Ultramantis Black faced off against Brodie Lee. Black got off to a good start but Lee fought back and in a bit of an upset got the win and his first two points. Next Green Ant of BDS took on TJ Perkins. Green Ant was in total control and even playing with his opponent. Things were going his way but then he tossed TJ out of the ring. He kept punishing TJ and when he ignored the ref's numerous commands to get back in the ring he was disqualified. So technically TJ got the win but he sure did not look like a winner.
Tag action was next as Naptown Dragons and The Throwbacks were in the next match. The Throwbacks showed great team work and got the win. After The Colony came down and tried to get their hands on the Dragons but the Dragons bailed out of the ring and ran off thru the crowd. It was then main event time as we had another Grand Championship tournament match with Chris Hero facing Johnny Gargano. Going into the tournament Johnny was on a roll as he beat some of the biggest names in CHIKARA. However that momentum did not carry into the tournament as he lost to Mike Quackenbush in his first match and he lost here without putting up much of a fight. After the match was over Johnny looked confused. He went to ask the ref what happened. Then he rolled out of the ring and started to question the ring side fans. It seemed he could not comprehend that he was 0-2 in the tournament and facing the possibility of not moving into the final.

Wrestling Wrap-up Weekly - Vol 2, Issue 31
Rumors and News
- Turns out the fan that was yelling at The Sheik last week has also been doing the same thing at house shows. And he is not an ordinary fan. He is a young wrestler in some of the indies on the east coast. He goes by the name "Lone Wolf" Rex Havoc. We guess he is trying to move up and make a name for himself. He should be careful, the vet is not someone to mess with.
- Next week will see the half way point in the CHIKARA tournament to crown their first Grand Champion. The week after, 8/12, is supposed to be something special as they take a one week break from the tournament. Nothing official but CHIKARA is planning something big according to sources.
ROH
8/3 The show starts with announcement that the main event will be reDRagon defending the ROH Tag Title championship against MCMG. Then we get the announcement of the 12 men in the Survival of the Fittest PPV this Sunday. They are AJ Styles, Austin Ares, Matt Hardy, Mike Bennett, Michael Elgin, Samoa Joe, Adam Cole, El Generico, Matt Taven, Jay Lethal, Tomasso Ciampa and Silas Young. Then it is time to go to the ring for the opening match. We had trios action as Bullet Club faced off against their nemesis Generation Next. Some real good back and forth action but Austin Ares kept avoiding tagging in. Eventually AJ hit the Styles Clash on Roderick Strong. Sydal and Ares looked to come in and make the pin save but Ares only started to get in the ring but then stopped. As far as Sydal, he got in and went to make the save till he saw the Warlord and Bernard get in the ring to stop him and he bailed out of the attempt. Your winner, Bullet Club. It will be interesting to see where these factions go from here. Next Donovan Dijak took on Adam Page. Donovan got a rather easy win.
It seems there is some commotion in back and the cameras go there to see ROH executives talking and making phone calls. Turns out the MCMG have not shown up due to the tires on their car being slashed. As the show needs a main event MCMG will be replaced with Team S.C.U.M. in the title match. Back to the ring and Homicide takes on Kazarian. Kaz has been on a losing streak recently but he looked happy and positive as he made his way to the ring. Turns out he had a reason as he took it too Homicide from the start and after a couple unsuccessful pin attempts he was able to get a successful one and pull off the upset. Then it is main event time. The match started with some back and forth then Team S.C.U.M. started to control the action and kept Kyle O'Reilly in the ring. After Jacobs baited Fish to get in the ring, forcing the ref to try and get him back in his team's corner, Jacobs grabbed his rail spike and nailed O'Reilly with it and that was enough to get the pin. Your winner and new champions, Team S.C.U.M. So now S.C.U.M. has all the gold. Something tells us this can not be good for ROH.
World Champion: Kevin Steen Tag Team Champions: Team S.C.U.M.
NWA Georgia Championship Wrestling
7/30 Tommy Rich took on George Steele to open the show. Rich was in control for most of the match. The one major exception came when he tossed Steele into the turnbuckle and Steele started biting it and tore it open. Tommy just watched confused and even looked a bit worried when George turned around with a mouth full of turnbuckle stuffing. But Tommy got his senses back and shortly after slapped on the Wildfire Sleeper and got the win after the ref raised George's arm a third time and it fell to his side. Next was tag action as The Kanagroos and Poffo Power went at it. This was a one sided affair as The Kangaroos dominated the action and got as easy win. Poffo Power are a far cry from The Kangaroos first opponent, Road Warriors.
Next Ted Dibiase and Jimmy Snuka faced off. In a bit of a shock Jimmy earned the victory. The main event was the Midnight Express defending their US Tag Titles against a team that had been on a roll, Killer Bees. It seemed that roll would continue early but the Express quickly turned things around and finished off the Bees. The announcers talked about maybe it is time for the Midnight Express to get another shot at the Road Warriors as they were one of the few teams to give the Tag Team Champions a real fight.
World Champion: Randy Savage Tag Team Champions: Road Warriors US Title: Bruiser Brody US Tag Title: Midnight Express
AWA
8/2 We start the show with a tag match as Bret "Hitman" Hart and Magnum T.A., now known as Hit Squad, took on the Valiant Brothers. Both teams struggled to get any momentum early but eventually Hit Squad got going and Bret won via Sharpshooter. After the match Jimmy was mad at Johnny for not making the save. Freddie Blassie and Johnny Saint were next in what was a quick win for Freddie.
There is a reminder announcement that next week's main event will be an 8 man tag match as The Sheepherders and American Starship take on Hamilton Wrecking Crew and The Empire. Killer Kowalski took on Bill Dundee in the next match. Bill held his own early and that just seemed to upset the larger Kowalski. Killer started to show how he earned that name and ended up with the win. The main event was between Nick Bockwinkel and Owen Hart. Owen is a good wrestler but he still has much to learn while Nick has been around the block a few times. That experience showed as Nick was in control for most of the match before finally getting the win.
World Champion: Buddy Rogers Tag Team Champions: The Sheepherders
ECW
8/1 The show starts and we see D'lo Brown and Val Venis walking in back. Larry Sweeney walked up and said he is excited for their tag match tonight and he knows he will lead them to victory. Says for them to relax, follow his instruction and everything will be good. He then walks off before they can say anything. Val looks at D'lo with a confused look and D'lo just shrugs his shoulders. The first match is The Patriot against Rich Swann. Swann uses his speed and agility to full advantage and gets the win. Next The Sheik is coming down to the ring when he stops to stare at the fan from last week who is yelling and pointing at him. The Sheik turns to walk away but then stops again and lunges at the fan who backs away. Security run down to keep The Sheik from going over the railing as the fan just watches on with a big smile on his face. They go to commercial and when we come back the fan is shown to be gone. Demolition is taking on D'lo Brown and Val Venis in the next match. Both teams are slugging it out and D'lo starts to get on an offensive roll. We see Larry Sweeney running down to ringside. He is yelling at Val for not letting him know it was time for their match. Val looks down and asks him what he is talking about. Larry says this is no way to treat their manager. Val says he is not their manager. While this is all going on Demolition retook control and hit their finisher. With Val distracted he did not see he needed to make the pin save and just like that his team lost. When he realized what happened he went crazy. Larry got in the ring to try and condole Brown and calm down Venis. Both men told him he was NOT their manager and to leave them the hell alone. They left as Larry stood in the ring with a confused look on his face.
Voodoo Kill Mafia and PG-13 were in the next match. VKM were keeping J.C. Ice in the ring and wearing him down. It looked like they were on the way to an easy win but finally Ice was able to tag out to Wolfie D. The match went back and forth for a bit but eventually VKM got the win. Then we had the main event as RVD battled Necro Butcher. RVD seemed focused as he did not do as much of his hot dogging. We mean he did do some just not as much as he normally does. He hit numerous Van Daminators and eventually Necro got busted open. Soon after RVD put him away for an impressive win.
World Champion: Taz Tag Team Champions: Wolves TV Title: Al Snow
CHIKARA
7/29 Eddie Kingston and Delirious faced off in a Grand Championship tournament match to kick off the action. It was a good back and forth match as Delirious actually seemed to show some clear thinking at times. However he started acting crazy again and Eddie took advantage. After a couple Backfist to the Futures he got the win, his 2nd in the tournament. Next Tiger Mask and Fire Ant matched up as Fire Ant was looking to avenge a loss in the Young Lions Cup tournament. Unfortunately today was not the day for that. In fact he had a worse showing as Tiger Mask dominated him and got an easy win.
We see Fire Ant walking in back with his head down and we hear laughing. It is Sara Del Rey and Daizee Haze. They tell him after that performance he should stick to guys he might, MIGHT, have a chance of beating. Like Hydra. Then Soldier Ant walks up and says if they think they are so good how about the four of them have a tag match...now. The ladies look at each other, laugh and say sure. The Colony vs. Sara Del Rey and Daizee Haze was next and it started a good back and forth. Eventually the BDS members got Fire Ant stuck in their corner and made frequent tags. After playing with him for awhile they finally finish him off. They walk off laughing while Soldier Ant checks on his partner. The main event was a Grand Champion tournament match as Tyler Black took on Mike Quackenbush. At one point it seemed like Mike might get the win but Green Ant distracted the ref by jumping up on the apron to complain about something. That seemed to be all the help Tyler needed as he started fighting back and soon finished off Mike for his second win. Next week will see Ultramantis Black take on former stable mate Crossbones while Chris Hero will face Icarus. After that we will be half way thru the tournament and start have an idea who might win the two groups. Also Prince Puma will be in action in a non title match.

Wrestling Wrap-up Weekly - Vol 2, Issue 32
Rumors and News
- Forever Hooligans have not been seen in ROH for awhile as they have been recovering from some minor injuries and should be returning soon.
- Some people close to Frank Gotch say he is considering finally retiring from wrestling for good. He has not said anything officially.
ROH
8/7 Survival of the Fittest ppv
1) Jay Lethal vs. El Generico. Lethal controlled things early than Generico fought back. They end up brawling outside of the ring than Jay was in control. He ended up with the win via Koji Clutch to move on to the final match.
2) Austin Ares vs. Tomasso Ciampa. This was a quick win for the leader of Generation Next as Ares joined Lethal in the final match.
3) Michael Elgin vs. Matt Taven. A decent match as Taven overcame the size disadvantage to beat the bigger man.
4) Samoa Joe vs. Adam Cole. In a surprise this ended up being a one sided affair as Joe never got going. Cole got the upset win to place himself in the final match.
5) AJ Styles vs. Silas Young. The leader of Bullet Club is on a mission to win the ROH World Championship and this was the first step as beat Silas to move on.
6) Matt Hardy vs. Mike Bennett. Mike took it to the S.C.U.M. member from the opening bell and hit the Box Office Smash out of nowhere early to get the win and move into the final match.
7) Jay Lethal vs. Austin Ares vs. Matt Taven vs. Adam Cole vs. AJ Styles vs. Mike Bennett is a 6 man elimination match. It was a wild brawl from the start as guys were going after different guys. Some of the fights spilled to the floor. Matt Taven and Austin Ares were going at it in the ring and Taven was getting the better of Ares. AJ Styles slid in the ring, tossed Taven out and then hit Styles Clash on his nemesis and just like that he eliminated Ares. Then guys took turns working over Jay Lethal. He started to fight back and had Mike Bennett in trouble. Adam Cole started working with Lethal double teaming Bennett. Cole got the pin on Bennett to eliminate him. Short time after Jay Lethal hit a Lethal Injection on Matt Taven and put away his former House of Truth mate. Lethal did not have time to enjoy that as he got attacked by AJ Styles. The two men battled and Lethal pinned AJ Styles to eliminate him. This left two men, AJ Styles and Adam Cole. Both men tore into each other but the vet got the better of it and after a Hail to the King and a Lethal Injection Jay Lethal got the win. Jay Lethal won the ppv and a future title shot. He was celebrating when Donovan Dijak ran down and attacked Lethal. After laying Jay out, Donovan grabbed a mic and said he should have been in this tournament, that he is better than Lethal.
8/10 The show begins with MCMG in the middle of the ring saying S.C.U.M. cost them their title shot last week and they want payback. They are demanding a match for tonight. Jimmy Jacobs comes out and says if the Guns want a match they got it but they were not behind the Guns not showing up last week. The MCMG toss their mics and run at Jacobs who leaves to the back. Then it is time for the opening match. Kazarian against Homicide in a rematch. Kaz came out laughing. Perhaps he should have waited to for while he started in control Homicide quickly turned things around and got the win. After the match he beat down Kazarian before leaving the ring. MCMG came out for their match but it was not Team S.C.U.M. that came out but it was Nigel McGuinness and Cedric Alexander. They got in the ring and the Guns were upset. Nigel had a big smile on his face but Cedric looked like he did not want to be there. Nigel said the Guns demanded a match and Jimmy said they would get one but did not say it would be against the champs. The Guns looked at each other and gave Nigel a double dropkick. Cedric just went to his corner. The MCMG dominated Nigel and got an easy win. Cedric never made an effort to make a pin save and just left the ring after the match was over.
Adam Cole and Mike Bennett were next as Mike was looking to get back at Adam for pinning him at the ppv. He would not get it this night as Cole pinned him again. The main event was Jay Lethal against Donovan Dijak as Lethal wanted to make Donovan pay for attacking him after his win at the ppv. Jay was wearing the larger man down and slapped on the Koji Clutch. It looked like he would get Dijak to tap when suddenly Truth Martini, who had not been seen in weeks, came down. He got on the apron and yelled encouragement to Jay who looked confused. The ref went over to tell him to get off the apron and missed Donovan tapping. Jay got up and was upset at the ref and also his manager. He turned around and Dijak hit The Dijection and almost got the win. His control was short lived as Lethal fought back. He once again got the large man in the Koji Clutch and this time when Donovan tapped the ref saw it. After the match was over Truth got in the ring and Jay got in his face questioning his about where he has been and why did he come down mid match and almost cost him the match. Dijak got up and slowly walked up behind Jay. Truth did not say anything and Dijak turned Jay around and choke slammed him before kicking the downed Lethal over and over. Truth just watched. Dijak stopped and slowly walked up to Truth. They starred at each other before smiling and raising their hands. It seems Truth is working with Dijak, but why?
World Champion: Kevin Steen Tag Team Champions: Team S.C.U.M.
NWA Georgia Championship Wrestling
8/6 Don Leo Jonathan and Ivan Koloff started the show. Ivan got in some offense but the vet Don Leo got the better of him and got the win. We see Steve Williams walking up to Blackjack Mulligan. Steve says he wants to face Blackjack in the ring today. Blackjack said he wants to think about it. As he does, Tommy Rich jumps Steve from behind. As Steve lays on the ground Tommy says "you have a match with me tonight big boy". Blackjack says if Steve can win that match then maybe he can get a match with him at a later time. Next tag team action as King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd took on the Samoan Swat Team. It was not a good day for the SST as Bundy and Studd simply dominated them and got the win.
Steve Williams takes on Tommy Rich next. It is a brutal back and forth but in the end Steve got the pin. He got on the mic and told Blackjack to prepare himself because Dr Death is coming for him. The main event is a World title match as Randy Savage took on Jimmy Snuka who has been on a roll. They faced off awhile ago and Randy dominated Jimmy. Snuka put up a better fight this time but he was still not good enough to get the win.
World Champion: Randy Savage Tag Team Champions: Road Warriors US Title: Bruiser Brody US Tag Title: Midnight Express
AWA
8/9 The show begins with Owen Hart going up against Freddie Blassie. Owen started using his speed to keep Freddie off balance but the vet used his strength to wear down Owen and eventually pinned him. Next Harley Race took on Bob Roop as Roop continued on his single path. This match turned out as bad for Roop as his past ones as Harley got a dominating win.
Frank Gotch and Bryan Danielson were next in a solid match. Both guys came close to winning but in the end Frank got the win. Then it was time for the main event with an 8 man tag match as The Sheepherders and American Starship took on Hamilton Wrecking Crew and The Empire. Early on the HWC and The Sheepherders used often tags and kept the other teams out of the match. Eventually HWC got Butch Miller in their corner and wore him down. He lunged to his corner to try and tag in Luke but Eagle reached over and got the tag. He got some offense in but soon HWC was wearing him down. John Tolos went to tag in his brother but Finlay reached over and tagged himself in. He and John stared each other down as Finlay got in the ring. For awhile The Empire and American Starship kept fighting each other and tagging in and out. The Empire were extra vicious while Coyote was in the ring. Eventually John Tolos got back in the ring and The Sheepherders tagged in and out to try and wear him down. During a pin attempt a wild brawl erupted as all 8 men got in the ring. Once the ref got the ring cleared of the non legal men the HWC double teamed Butch Miller and John Tolos got the pin for his team. Soon as the bell rang another wild brawl broke out. The four teams were fighting as the show ended.

8/8 Show begins with Raven's Flock in back. Raven is belittling Stevie Richards. Telling him it is his fault the Flock is goldless. He needs to pick up his game and stop being the weak link. Then we see Al Snow with his head and the TV Title. Snow is talking to his head saying "Did you see me win this belt? Of course you did, you're eye is everywhere" and then he starts laughing. The Patriot takes on Rich Swann in a rematch. Swann tried a flying head scissors to start the match but The Patriot turned it into a power bomb. After that The Patriot dominated the match and got the win. Then we see the Sandman in back drinking beer and Larry Sweeney walks up and starts talking to him about great opportunities and how Larry will take him to the highest of highs. Sandman keeps drinking and then walks off. Then we see The Sheik walking down to the ring for a match. He stops and starts getting into it with that "fan" again. However this time the fan jumps the railing and gets in the face of The Sheik. Security comes down to separate them. They are trying to get a police officer to handcuff the fan when suddenly a well dressed man, wearing a black suit and sunglasses and carrying a cane, and a ref come from the back and walk down to the ring. The man in the suit looks familiar. He pulls some paperwork out of his suit and hands it to one off the officials and motions for the ref to say something. The ref talks to the official as they look over the paper work. After a minute they tell the police officer to take the cuffs off the fan. The mystery man and fan then slowly walk to the back with the fan pointing to The Sheik while smiling. The Sheik tried to get at him but officials stop him and slowly walk him to the back. The ref comes over to talk to the announcers and it is revealed that the fan has signed a contract with ECW and thus as a wrestler he has permission to come over the ring barrier. The mystery man is his manager. More information will be revealed next week.
Jon Moxley battled Stevie Richard in the next match. Stevie put up a good fight but in the end Jon won. Next Sandman took on Adrian Street. As the match was going on Larry Sweeney came down to ring side and was shouting instructions to Sandman. At one point Miss Linda tried to get involved in the match but Larry stopped her. In the end Sandman got the pin. After Larry got in the ring and tried to celebrate with Sandman. When Sandman tried to leave Larry stopped him and asked him where does he think he is going. He says Sandman can not be passing on this great opportunity. Sandman thought for a bit, popped open a new beer, took a swig and then smashed Larry in the forehead with the can before leaving the ring. When Larry recovered his face went thru expressions of confusion and anger going back and forth. Then it was time for the main event, a tag title match between the champs Wolves and Voodoo Kill Mafia. The VKM were wearing down Eddie Edwards and came close to pinning him a few times. It seemed he was done and Davey tried to get in but The Shard stopped him. The ref saw that and got up to make The Shard leave ringside. As he was arguing with The Shard he missed The Destroyer come down and attack Davey Richards and lay him out. Once The Shard left for the back the ref turned around and BG James slapped on the sleeper on Eddie and between all the damage he took and no Davey to save him he faded and the ref called for the bell. Your winner and new Tag Team Champions, the VKM. After the match The Shard came back and joined his men in the ring. The VKM put the belts around their waists and then all three men stood in the ring, faced the camera and put their hands over their heads. They each put their own thumbs together and their pointing fingers together creating a triangle over their head. What does this hand gesture/sign mean?

8/5 The show kicks off with a Grand Champion match as Chris Hero took on Icarus. Icarus had Hero in trouble early and looked to be pulling the upset but Hero fought back and got the win. Next The Throwbacks take on Sara Del Rey and Daizee Haze. The match starts with Dunkerton trying to give Daizee some chest chops but after the first she covered up and looked shocked as if he did something improper. He looked confused and then started apologizing but as he did that she hit him with a dropkick. The match was a good back and forth. In the end The Throwbacks got the win.
Prince Puma took on Tiger Mask in a non title match next. This was a rematch of the final of the Young Lions Cup tournament. Tiger had been dominating his opponents lately but the momentum did not carry over to this match as Puma dominated him and got the win. The main event was a Grand Champion match as Ultramantis Black faced off against former stable mate Crossbones. It was an even match to start but slowly Black started to dominate. Crossbones just would not go down. He kicked out of the Praying Mantis Bomb SIX times including one point where he did it three times in a row. However they took their tow on him and later on after hitting a clothesline off the turnbuckle Black was able to put him away finally. After the matches the announcers updated the standings in the Grand Championship tournament as we were half way thru it. In Group A Eddie Kingston lead with 4 points. Everyone else had 2 except Delirious who was being shut out. In Group B Tyler Black and Chris Hero were leading with 4 points each, Quackenbush had 2 and Johnny Gargano and Icarus had no points yet. Then they started to hype next weeks show. "CHIKARA will have a special guest. Officials have been keeping it a surprise and been very secretive about it but we now get their name. It will be...wait, is this right? THEY will be here next week. WOW this IS big. Tune in next week when..." the show ends at this point.

Rumors and News
- Gorgeous George announced that he is coming back to NWA Georgia Championship Wrestling. He also said that there is a good chance he will not be coming alone. Does he mean his valet Cherie Dupre or someone else?
- ROH's next PPV is in September and will be called Glory By Honor.
- We thought we recognized the man who came down to help out the "fan" at last week's ECW show but we could not figure out who it was. At least not at first. Then it hit us. He was the fan we interviews awhile back that had took a fireball from The Sheik. It looks like he is trying to keep his promise to make The Sheik's life miserable.
ROH
8/17 Show starts with S.C.U.M. in their locker having a good time. Matt Hardy comes up to Jacobs and Corino to congratulate them on winning the tag titles, especially how they screwed over the MCMG. Jimmy said they did not do that. Then Rhino came up and told them that he knows hardcore and the way they played the Guns by slicing their tires was hardcore. As he walks off Steve said "but we did not do that". Finally Keven Steen came up and talked about how they had all the gold. That Jimmy's plan has come to pass and slicing the tires on the Guns car was the final touch. At this both Jimmy and Steve stand up and yell they did not do it. There is a silent pause then the rest of S.C.U.M. start laughing as Jimmy and Steve turn to look at each other and toss their hands up in the air. The first match is Matt Sydal against El Generico. The match goes back and forth till Generico hits a Brainbustaaahhh. It looks like he will get the win but Ares distracts the ref. As that happens Roderick Strong runs in and attacks Generico. Sydal hits his finisher and got the win. After that match Truth Martini walks down to the ring with Donovan Dijak and Homicide. Truth says they are the only members of the House of Truth now. He says Jay Lethal is no longer worthy. Now it is time for Donovan to continue his path to greatness.
Donovan Dijak vs. Matt Taven is next. Donovan was dominating the former member of the House. Donovan hit Feast Your Eyes but Taven kicked out. He could not kick out when Donovan hit it a second time. After the match the HOT stood tall in the ring. Tag action was next as War Machine had a rematch with the Backstreet Boyz who beat them recently. This match ended the same with the Boyz pulling out the upset win. War Machine were very upset after and stormed off to the back. We get a promo from Jay Lethal saying he does not need the House. He will win the World title and then Truth will come crawling back to beg Lethal to come back but it will be too late. Then it was main event time as Adam Cole took on Samoa Joe. Cole dominated but Joe would not go down easy as he kicked out after Cole hit each of his finishers a few times. Then Joe slapped on the Rear Naked Choke. Harley was pushing his will on Bill but Dundee fought back and put up a good effort. However in the end Race was just too much for him and got the win.
Valiant Brothers took on the Love Brothers in tag action in the next match. The Valiant were working like a well oiled machine and had the Loves in trouble. Johnny looked to have the match won when Jimmy tagged himself in to get the pin. Johnny looked confused on why he did it. Then it was the main event as Buddy Rogers of the Four Horsemen defended his World Championship against Nick Bockwinkel. Buddy was on fire early and got Nick to tap to his figure four to win the first fall. He took it to Nick early in the second fall but Nick quickly turned things around as he knew his back was up against the wall. When he got Buddy into his version of the figure four he was able to even the match at one fall apiece. The third and deciding fall was a tough back and forth one. In the end Buddy got Nick into the final four again and forced him to tap. Buddy won the match two falls to one.

8/15 The show starts and we see Larry Sweeney in the back in a room sitting in a chair behind a table. He is smiling and excited. He says he is looking for members for his management group Sweet-n-Sour Inc. He will manage his men to the top. He talks about how he tried to let D'lo Brown and Val Venis in on this great opportunity and later Sandman but they all were not bright enough to see the great chance they were given. So now he is holding open interviews to see who is good enough to be in his group. He has a big smile as the camera turns from him to the ring where we see the fan who has been getting in The Sheik's face recently and the nicely dressed man that came out to help him last week. The sharp looking man introduced himself as simply the Dark Menace. He is a licensed manager and the man in the ring with him is his man Rex "Lone Wolf" Havoc. They are here to destroy The Sheik. Speaking of, The Sheik has a match with Rex...right now. The Sheik came down and went right at Rex. He dominated the beginning of the match. He tossed Rex out of the ring and came out to beat him down. Rex almost got counted out but made it in just in the nick of time. Back in the ring The Sheik continued to dominate Rex. He tried to hit a fireball but seemed to only partly get Rex. As the ref checks on Rex, the Dark Menace sneaked in and hit The Sheik with his cane. For a bit this gave Rex the advantage but soon The Sheik fought back and ended up winning via Camel Clutch. We see Larry Sweeney in back again. He is by himself looking out the door and down the hall both ways. Tag action is next as the Briscoe Brothers take on the Young Bucks. The Briscoes picked up a dominating win as they just overpowered the Bucks.
The screen shows a video promo. It is of an owl flying then landing on a book. That image is replaced with the words "From the shadows we shall come. Knowledge is power. We are power". Another shot of Larry in back. This time he is walking back and forth in the room talking to himself and mumbling under his breath. Talking about how can no one see the great opportunity his company offers them. Then back to the ring as The Shard and Super Crazy have a match. It is a good back and forth match but in the end The Shard puts Crazy away after a chest stomp. The ref raises his hand then The Shard makes the triangle hand gesture over his head. We get another shot of Larry in back. He is no longer smiling and is obviously upset. He pulls the cameraman over. He looks in the camera and says he gave the wrestlers in ECW a great chance but they passed on it. They laughed at him and treated him like a nobody. Well they will pay. They all will pay. Just you wait and see. Then back to the ring for the main event match. Raven takes on Sandman in a #1 contender match. Raven is all over Sandman from the start. He used a chair to beat down Sandman but could not get the pin. Sandman starts to turn things around and goes for the pin after a DDT. Stevie Richards ran down and got on top of the turnbuckle and went to give a flying elbow drop but Sandman moved causing Stevie to elbow drop Raven. As Stevie looks on Raven and tries to apologize Sandman hits him with his Singapore cane then tosses him out of the ring. Sandman then gets on Raven and gets the pin to win the match. Something tells us that when he recovers Raven will NOT be pleased with Stevie.

CHIKARA
8/12 The show begins, we see Amber in the ring and the fans are abuzz waiting for the big surprise. We hear the opening rift of "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath. There is a huge pop as the fans know that entrance music. Sure enough out from back comes to imposing figures to stand at the top of the ramp. Animal. Hawk. The Road Warriors. They are wearing their NWA Tag Team titles. As they stand there soaking in the fans cheering their manager Paul comes up behind him holding a rolled up newspaper. The Road Warriors were part of a faction in their early days called Legion of Doom or LOD. The fans knew this as they chanted L O D over and over. Paul taped both of his men on the shoulders with the paper, started walking to the ring and motioned for his men to follow. They get in the ring and Amber asks them what are they doing here. Paul says his boys have been getting tired of the lack of challenges in their fed so they are starting to look for new challenges. So they came to CHIKARA to go after the tag champions here. Amber says that is great. Animal than says "so bring them out so we can destroy them". Amber than points out that here in CHIKARA you get a point for winning a tag match and after getting three you can cash them in for a title shot. However if you lose before the three points you lose all your points. She says she is sure management can set up tag matches over next three weeks. Hawk says "screw that. We will earn our three points...TONIGHT". Amber looks confused what to say. An official walks up to the ring and motions her over. They talk and she looks uncertain. He shakes his head yes and she goes back to the center of the ring. She says CHIKARA officials have lined up three teams for tonight. If the Road Warriors can beat all three, they will get their title shot tonight. Hawk says "weeeeeeeell, bring our first opponent out. We will destroy them all" and Animal says "oh, whaaaaaaat a rush".
The first team out is the unusual team of Hydra and TJ Perkins. Hydra and Animal start the action. Hydra kept running from Animal even sliding in and out of the ring. It seemed to work at frustrating Animal as Hydra was able to start the offense and even get a pin attempt in. However the Warriors quickly fought back and finished Hydra off with a Doomsday Device. TJ was not in much but looked strong while he was. Next out was The Colony. The Warriors did not want a repeat of the first match so they attacked the Ants before the bell. They dominated Fire not letting him tag out. Hawk finished him off for an impressive win. It seems The Colony is in a funk, especially Fire Ant.
die Jager came down to watch the third match and presumably be ready to defend their belts against the Road Warriors. Animal and Hawk were pacing around the ring like caged animals as they waited on their third opponent of the night. They have looked impressive so far and seemed set to earn that third point. All in ONE night. Truly they are the best team in wrestling right now. Out came Incoherence for the third match of the night. Incoherence put up a better fight than the other two teams but slowly the Road Warriors wore them down. The Warriors hit the Doomsday Device and seemed to have the win as Animal went to cover Hallowicked. However Fightmare came in to make the save and Hawk met him to stop that from happening. As the two of them fought the ref tried to get them out of the ring. That distracted the ref so he did not see die Jager slip in the ring and attack Animal. They his a Doomsday Uppercut on him then got out of the ring. This allowed Hallowicked to recover, hit his finisher and get the pin. Hawk could not make the save as die Jager had pulled him down to the floor and kept him from getting in the ring. Just like that the Road Warriors impressive roll was over. The Warriors were upset and tried to get die Jager but officials and wrestlers ran down to stop them and pull them to the back.
die Jager got in the ring and said it was such a shame that the Road Warriors could not get the job done. They were prepared to defend their Campeonatos de Parejas titles tonight but guess it just was not to be. They start to leave the ring when Amber stops them. She says it turns out CHIKARA was prepared if the Warriors did not get their three points. It turns out die Jager WILL be defending their titles. Ares said the Warriors should not get a title shot since they lost. Amber says it is not against the Warriors. It is against them, and she points to the ring entrance. We hear the music for the Bravado Brothers. It seems die Jager forgot the Brothers had earned their three points. The Bravados ran down and started fighting with die Jager. Between that attack and not expecting to wrestle was probably the reason they seemed off and lost the first fall pretty easily. They were able to recover however for the second fall and made light work of the Brothers. The third fall was a good back and forth one with lots of action and frequent tags. The Bravados had Ares in the ring and were working him over. There was an uproar from the fans and we see Animal and Hawk making their way thru the crowd to the ring. The Bravado Brothers were hitting their finisher while Animal and Hawk pulled Claudio off the ring apron. He turned to fight them but instead slowly backed off. As he was his partner was being pinned in the ring. We had new Campeonatos de Parejas champions. Claudio looked in the ring in surprise, then looked at the Warriors and slowly just walked to the back. Animal and Hawk got in the ring and congratulated the new champs, raising their hands as the show ended.
