So, after a long wait, the game arrived. I'm disappointed in it as all the miniatures came in pieces so that you can assemble them yourserself. Something I simply do not have the time, nor patience to do. I was hoping I could just play but that is not the case. If anyone on the boards here is interested in making a deal for the game, PM me. I got just about all the stuff available through kickstarter. Spent about $300 but would be willing to let it go fo way less. Let me know. If you go to your local Warhammer den you can probably find someone to assemble and paint them for a small fee.

Yeah, you have to know your companies if you're going to kickstarter them. I've done a couple and not had problems but I've heard many horror stories from ones that were half done or worse.

This is the fourth or fifth miniature game I've backed on Kickstarter and all the rest were fine. And, apparently, there nothing wrong with the quality of this game it's just they didn't make it clear that you'd have to assemble the miniatures. But now I know what wording to look for when I back and to ask to make sure they come pre-assembled.

I have had friends of mine paint guys for me before, I don't have the time or patience for it personally either.

I tried to paint a miniature once at a convention and I may have well just been dunking it in buckets of paint.

I tend to only back things from people that have a track record of delivering what they promise. Not a bad idea. The only stuff I have supported on kickstarter has been headlocked comics, because I know it would be delivered. like everything on Kickstarter they always have been delivered after the promised date, but atleast they arrived. I know when we did the Live Event Kickstarter it was hectic. If it was something we were used to do we would have been more timely (like we were with the perks). But the video took longer and it caused Tom to be hounded by asshole with fake emails saying he was ripping people off since it wasn't delivered on the original date (again, which is never hit by any project). Really makes me not want to use kickstarter much again, but I guess never say never.

You can also check your local gaming shops and comic shops. Some of them have bulletin boards with service advertisements and stuff. When I was toying with the idea of 40k I was going to get them painted because it would have looked awful if I had done it.

Really makes me not want to use kickstarter much again, but I guess never say never. Especially with boardgames which I tend to support. First timers tend to underestimate the unseen costs and overestimate how quickly it takes something to get here from China on a boat. And then you deal with the PR disaster. Fantasy Fantasy Baseball which I backed and is a quality game had pissed off backers because they didn't communicate well. But you get into something like the Sentinels of the Multiverse guys, I'll back anything they do because they have a track record of overdelivering on promises, same as Eric and GoFightPow. Delays are going to happen obviously but I want to make sure I get what I paid for.

In the move to our new house, I'm clearing out a bunch of games including this one which, right now, has an under $10 bid. www.ebay.com/itm/282622720095
