Sad news. An icon of popular music and a hugely influential star, especially here in Britain. Was lucky enough to see him in 1996 when I was 16. I'd had flu for a week but still went to the concert. It was outdoors in baking heat. I pushed to the front and stood at the barrier. Moments before Bowie came on stage, I passed out and had to be helped over the barrier by security. Gutting!
Still, great concert, me and my friends all sang along whilst I was draped myself in the Union Flag.
R.I.P Mr Bowie

Very sad news indeed... A truly innovative star... Enjoyed his work both as a musician and an actor... His contributions and inspiration will live on forever...
Nothing? NOTHING? Nothing, tra-la-laa?

I didn't get deeply into Bowie's music like others did but I completely respected him as an artist. How absolutely amazing is that that he released his final album two days before his death as a final gift/piece of art? That just has my ultimate respect. No one, publicly, knew he had cancer because instead of talking about it he just went to work creating something. I just cannot respect that enough.
